With Granville sulking on sabbatical, it was left to myself and Jonty and his flourishing facial hair to hold the fort, ably supported by this week’s guest, Luke aka D1sable.

Racking up one of the longest episodes for months, the three of us talk slippers, banish at least seven teams to the Championship and mention Jeffrey Schlupp as much as humanly possible. Despite missing Granville’s secret sauce, we also do our best to serve up the regulars, whilst addressing the quizzing and probing from the Fantasy Football Scout community – thats you.

Once again, if you escaped the horror of Monday’s live Hangout you can view the full movie below. Alternatively, you can enjoy our semi-slick, edited audio version via this link or the first player.

If you want to get the heads up on future Hangouts, be sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

      Excuse a planning post!

      Myhill
      Terry Wollo Alderw
      Sanchez Hazard Silva Erik
      Aguero Kane Giroud

      Foster Boyd PVA Haidria
      1ft 1m itb no WC

      30- Hold
      31- Giroud to Bentekke
      32- Sanchez to siggy
      33 Benteke to Costa
34 Boyd to Hendo and Wollo to Moreno ( depending on LIV double, if no Liv double here then Terry to Ivan and Schlupp in wollo)

Can also do Terry to Ivan right now for free?
      Any thoughts beside stop planning?

Think you can hold for this week.

Dropping Sanchez in GW32 against Burnley would mean zero Arsenal coverage though. Would save GW32, use 2 transfers in GW33.

Players in sounds ok (at the moment)

GW34 probably. At least would have 5 weeks to get points out of it.

Fixtures swing too. Which means loading up on Chelsea players (and hopefully Liv) could set you up for the run in.

    3. bigbudgie

GW34 is turning into a damp squib, considering most have 3xChelsea already.

Considering their late replay date, Liverpool may have a DGW in 37 along with ARS.... so GW37?

      1. Joggers Nipple
        • 16 Years
        10 years, 8 months ago

The 37 Ars and pool double would be tempting but isnt gw37 a little too late? No wc users could hold an ars player over 34 maybe even 2 and get towards 3 ars and 3 pool for 37 easily. If you got wc the earlir you play it the better imo

GW 35 probably, will get my Arsenal players back which I offloaded GW33 and get some Liverpool players if they have a DGW 37

Is there an argument to play the WC this week?

For me it's either this week or GW34 now.

      Why now? Extremely knee jerk.

What would you do? Get Aguero Sanchez out and fill it up QPR Villa DGWers?

See below. With ARS and probably LIV's double being in GW37 there is 6 freebies to use to bring them back in

        1. Shifty
          • 12 Years
          10 years, 8 months ago

I see it as 6 transfers that could be better used to optimize your team, rather than forced/planned transfers to get the ideal team you want in GW37. Have a look at the season ticker...ARS and LIV have great games from 34.

Yeah that's true. But LIV's fixtures get good from GW32 and I don't like ARS's too much until GW35, so would be looking at something like

GW32-34 - get in LIV players
GW35-37 - get in ARS players

    2. Jinswick
      • Fantasy Football Scout Member

      Something like

      Guzan*
      Ivanovic*, Bertrand, Aldy*
      Hazard, Silva, Eriksen, Mane*
      Aguero, Costa*, Kane

      Myhill, Phillips*, Naughton*, Schlupp*

The * being players I'd bring in.

Will enable the following for no hits:

      2-3 DGWers in GW31
      4-5 DGWers in GW34
6 DGWers in GW37 (assuming LIV goes here)

      1. Shifty
        • 12 Years
        10 years, 8 months ago

not bad actually but Arsenal have good fixtures from now til GW34, can't just let DGWs blind you.

They're still the most free-scoring and in-form team offensively at the moment.

I'd play it in DGW34 even if it's just Chelsea. Fixtures swing for the big clubs.

Fair point re us scoring goals right now, but I think they'll get shared about amongst our attackers and I'm not so sure about the fuxtures up to GW34 incl:

          new, LIV, bur, Blank, CHE

Playing it now for me enables getting Costa, double SOT defence, replacing a couple of injured players and getting a few extra DGWers for next week. Will already have my 3 CHE of choice for GW34 and then the plan would be to bring back ARS and LIV players in the run up to their DGWs.

Look after Chelsea. You can get rid of Arsenal players by GW33, wildcard in GW34.

Yeah, they're great after CHE. Would look to get 2 ARS in GW35 and another at some point before GW37.

The prospect of Costa for the next 3-4 is tempting, which is very difficult without a WC

I don't know, is there? Let me think out loud. PLaying it this week obs sets us up well for GW30. Also can include a 5th mid who can play in the DGW 31 (Villa/QPR). But can you also set up a decent team for the blanks in 33?

I would play it in GW34 and get some ARS/LIV in then along with the Chelsea folks. Use the remaining FTs to see out your season or block rivals. But you're playing with different priorities I guess? Playing for rank?

Yeah, my MLs are already wrapped up so am willing to take a few punts to try and get in the top 10 overall. GW34 is the safe choice I guess.

Your call, I think you can play it in GW34 and allow yourself more flex. If you forego the Arsenal folks, you might miss out on a shite tonne of points while maybe gain 6 with double SOT def (everyone has at least one), Costa could get 2 yellow cards and throw your plans to shite too 🙂 just playing the devils advocate here.

Yeah, all good points. My biggest issue with ARS assets is there are just too many good options - it's tough to pick the right ones. Any of the below are capable of hogging all the points:

Ramsey, Wally, Ozil, Sanchez, Santi, Giroud

If you pick the right ones then it could be great, but if rather Costa over any of them for the next 4 games

It's decent. I have my WC, thing is my team is set up nicely for this week AND the blanks in 33 already, and I'm not too fussed about the DGW31...so...guess it's not for me

          What do you think

          Myhill (Foster)
          Terry Ivan Fonte (Naughton Haidara)
          Haz Sanchez Silva Mane (boyd)
          Aguero Kane Austin

Yeah, your team is set up better than mine right now, so saving till GW34 probably the best route for you.

I have Foster, Haidara, PVA & Ayoze and no Ivanovic, Mane or any GW31 DGWers.

Also have the WC, and playing for rank. Well, unlike you, I am looking to break into top 1k (presently seating way behind at 7k).

I am going to get rid of all Arsenal players now. Left only with Cazorla. Newcastle, however depleted their squad might be, are formidable at home. Only 15 chances were created against them in the last 3 home matches combined. Burnley away is another banana skin fixture. Blank, Liverpool and Chelsea are all tough games to produce points. I will play the fixture and get rid of Cazorla next week.

Look at Liverpool. Some tough matches round the corner. ManU, Arsenal, blank, Baggies away.

So, in my plans I will not have a single Arsenal or Liverpool player till GW34. Use all my FTs to load players from Southampton, Chelsea, Spurs, Swans.

I will use my wildcard after GW34, and before GW35. Load up my team with Arsenal and Liverpool players to see out the end of season.

    Pants (Krul)
    Terry/Clyne/PVA (Dawson/Haidara)
    Haz/Caz/Silva/Erik (Boyd)
    Kun/Kane/Austin

    1 FT, 2.2 ITB

    A] Haidara --> Naughton
    B] Caz --> Mane/Siggy
    C] Save
    D] any other suggestion?

only A or also take care of Santi? Not sure he will start and he plays too deep anyway

    Which one...for longer term ?

    A. Courtois and Giroud (double up Chelsea def)
    B. Forster and Costa (double up Saints def)

Giroud has a blank on gw33, so probably Benteke/Austin on that week.
And Costa dgw 34, in option A cannot get him for that week as Courtois would take the third Chelsea spot.

I think I'm doing Foster --> Begovic and rotate him with Krul...no point keeping Foster..I can get Guzan but will Villa get CS? Bego is a better prospect that way

I'd go for Migs or Ospina if i'd have a GK with a game in 33. Bego a decent option aswell...

Im prob selling Panti. Sun missing gw 33 and their dgw only in 37 which is to late for my liking. I don't like the situation at Sunderland at the moment.

Might double up with Alderweireld as well as I have 2 FT's.

are you sure about the double up though looks good..but I'm not sure of the doubling up..1 goal and 2 CS lost..

plus in the end of the season Saints might attack more so that they can get points and try to reduce the GD in case of same points..

Mane seems to be popular here but I'm tempted with Siggy with his set-pieces. Fixture is relatively easier too.

    Silva, Sanchez, Haz, Eriksen (Wanyama)
    Aguero, Kane, Austin

If you want to get Guzan, then Pantilimon to Guzan. Pantilimon-Guzan would result in no GK for GW33.

Terry, Bertrand and Alder. If you want to spread the risk, Naughton over Alder. That transfer might not make sense this week but it should help in future... Alternatively, taking out Sanchez is an option, before Newcastle? Risky!

50/50 But i'd go fo Bellerin (IF HE IS GOING TO PLAY). Better chance of a clean sheet + more attacking threat i think.
