I honestly think liverpool v united was better than this. Yep it's got the 2 world's best players but I found the liverpool v United game more entertaining and overall a better match to watch

PL is still the best in the world for me, maybe not quality wise but entertainment it's the best

It's at times like this, where there's such pathetic and blatant play acting, that they should introduce 'the pink tutu', where said play-acting player should be forced to wear the garment for a pre-determined certain time period.

In the U.S., ice hockey has a rule where if you embellish contact to try and draw a penalty on your opponent, you get to spend the next two minutes in the penalty box. Something similar ... Maybe 5 minutes standing by the 4th official ... Would end this madness.

Well diving isn't as much of a taboo subject in other countries. It's an important part of the game for some, win free kicks, get you opponent booked etc.

However, the PL hasn't really caught on to this mentality (rightly so) but diving is still creeping in nonetheless

    4. Fred54
      • 10 Years

FWIW diving/conning the ref was a very South American tactic that moved into the global game with the players and of course teams/nations copying this dark arts play style. La Liga and Serie A have historically had strong SA influences.

Of course decades on its pretty much a global football problem buts its definitely more prominent in certain leagues than others.

no, but we have a real issue with the dying swan act as cheating while it's the norm. in South America. Suarez and Maradonna's handballs are another example of "cheating" being viewed differently on both continents
