Gameweek four concludes tonight at Goodison Park, as Everton play host to Newcastle United. The Dugout Discussion opens to see two sides with high ambitions for the season tussle it out. The team news is in and is as follows…

Everton XI: Howard, Hibbert, Jagielka, Distin, Baines, Mirallas, Neville, Osman, Pienaar, Fellaini, Jelavic.

Newcastle XI: Harper, Perch, Williamson, S Taylor, Santon, Anita, Cabaye, Gutierrez, Marveaux, Ben Arfa, Cisse.

David Moyes makes two changes from the side that suffered defeat at the hands of West Brom in matchday three, with Tony Hibbert and Kevin Mirallas starting in place of Darron Gibson and Steven Naismith.

As for the visitors, Steve Harper replaces the injured Tim Krul, and James Perch and Mike Williamson patch up the defence in the absence of Danny Simpson and Fabricio Coloccini. Slyvain Marveaux is a surprise inclusion, as Demba Ba drops to the bench.

The Dugout Discussion chatroom is open and can be accessed right here.

Thought about doing it as part of the wildcard last week. Another decision that backfired. Pienaar a more directly attacking player and the price would allow me to do Lambert to Berb/Fletcher next week which looks an all round upgrade. Maybe the only reason not to do it this week is fixtures though? Price rises may force the issue however.

      Save that transfer my friend.

It's a sideways move; is Pienaar away to Swansea really EVEN A BIT better than Yaya at home to Arsenal? Your team looks well set-up to me (because of the wildcard of course), and having two transfers together have more than double the worth of one transfer.

I want to get in Berba, but if I'm going to I need to do the transfer tonight before he rises. Should I go with him over Ba? Is he worth a -4pt hit? What concerns me is that he is the King of Inconsistency and we can't expect his scores to follow the same pattern every week...

Berbs will rise .3 this GW. He won't be as inconsistent as the main man at FUL. Thats what he's always wanted, it's wat SAF wanted - to replace Cantona. Didnt happen but he's a class act. He was EPL top scorer before he was dropped FFS.

so you want Berba ahead of Ba who scored twice tonight even tho you think Berba is the king of inconsistency and he wont score two goals every week (safest statement ever made) and you want all this for a 4 point hit....
Im not sure what to say here, youve confused me with that one 🙂
Berbas on Penos, will start every game and costs less......... so if Penos and game time gives you some assurance and you can use the money elsewhere and wont mss the 4 points then go for it!!

Federici confirmed on Twitter he is not injured, and there are now tweets from his gf and family calling RFC a 'disgrace' and that they are '#notloyal'

McDermott was very shady on Radio Berkshire, saying firstly it was tactical, then it was a minor knock, and then he definately wont be in contention for this weekend or 'a while'

        Something dodgy is going on

McCarthy has massive potential and could very well hold the shirt now. How does Federici being price protected affect things? I want to replace Federici,... but not yet
