Which set of players do you think will score better tonight?

    A) Robles Lennon Coutinho Hazard Deeney

    B) Gomes Barkley Defoe Lukaku(C)

Probably A as only Defoe has form from B.

    Firmino/Carroll > KDB/Giroud for free?
That would mean playing Deeney and Defoe as well.

Andy Donkey Carroll, thanks very much. Should've just gone safe knowing my ML rival would TC Payet. He's still 55 points behind though, should I worry??

I have: Defoe, Clyne, Robles and Martin
He has: Mignolet, PvA, Coutinho and Deeney

Thanks guys, our teams are relatively similar as well we have 7 players co-owned. Both also have an Arsenal defender. He has Kun I have Kane, shall I block that move too?? Kind of wanted to give myself a better second Arsenal attacker and a Saints option.

For some reason I sold Kun when I meant to sell Kane, must be colour blind.

Worth doing Hazard + Carroll -> Giroud + Tadic/Mane (-4) and playing without a keeper?

  8. Most influential FFS posters this season

    Morning all!

I would like to ask you fine people since its the end of the season this:

Who was the most influential poster to you this season and why? Who's advice did you listen to?

I will start: I enjoyed a lot of great debates with a bunch of people, but to summarize it somehow i have looked what Christina, Rupert the Horse thought about certain players. I know i have overlooked a lot, but these two were the ones who were uping the Kun>Costa punt weeks ago!

I'm going to ammend this to remove the section on posters to avoid...we don't want to turn this into a thread that abuses other posters.

Happy to focus on the most influential posters though.

I don't avoid anybody, there are one or two who I tend to go to more than others, but at the end of the day its you who picks the team and even the 'regulars' advice is not necessarily going to be better / more correct than anyone else.
this is a great site - i'll need it next few days as i'm away on holiday and may not know too much in the way of news.
you have to make your own mind up though

I think sometimes there is a case that people know what they want to do and really are just hoping someone agrees with them to confirm their choice.
I probably 'speak' to torresmagic, kingnidge more than most.

I always home in on those posts that are well researched, where a good case is made for a particular player or view point. There are so many of these every day but I do want to say that all our regular community writers' posts tend to be among those I look at. These guys know their stuff.

I definitely go more for people's gut instincts and opinions on selections more than sheer stats - you know like goal imminent and chances created.
maybe baps is one of the only 'stats' I really look at as some players seem to be bonus point magnets - Williams, daniels etc

Knowing who to listen to and not is half of the battle and comes through experience - some give reasoned arguments/opinions, but some just push their own agenda because it suits them. A prime example is those who were effectively forced into a GW33 WC due to their team set up (which is fair enough), but then wouldn't even entertain the fact a GW36 WC could turn out better, even though it was blatantly obvious that it could (not would) turn out better.

Balders for everything. Cheeseoid and Diva for great input. Irish Madrista for great punts. Jafa, Evs, Moin, HOH, Scored, Super Zlatan, Epic Fail, Tommy Tour and Acqua for bringing great advice to the table always. Jazzi for the best constructive advice posts. Fitzy and Ziro for always mocking me and bringing me back to Earth. Rupert and Bowstring for general banterment.

And Christina, Pasq and Doos for being my favorites.

Can't single out the 'most' influential, but I like to read through well-reasoned thoughts. IM with his crazy punts always has a backing reason. Pasqualinho can nit-pick into the nucleus of a careless comment. Balders with his irritatingly accurate logical points. LateRiser with his stylish posts. Doosra's positivity with all his differential thinking every week.
Evs is so well-regarded as a manager but I find him hard to follow, always seems to have a change of heart on deadline day, burned me a few times when I had found my choices same as his during the week making me feel content. Only to realize during the matches that he did something different. 😀

      Forza is the best.

I've reported everyone who didn't mention him.

Christina and S.kuki deserve a mention for me. More often that not accurate and always helpful. Otherwise I always read to what Jonty, Doos, IM,Ryan and Andy85 have to say.

There are loads of posters whose opinions I look out for, too many to mention, but to name the best I'd go with, Triggerlips, Evs, GreenWindmill, Torres Magic, Lateriser, Christina and Epic Fail. Most influential of all though has to go to Mark and Jonty and so I'm blaming you two planks more than anyone else for my terrible season 😉 😀

Special mention to Balders who created all those great games for people to play out of the kindness of his own heart 🙂

I know who to go to for advice, good bad and indifferent but win lose or draw I know they meant it.
Balder's has been a breath of fresh air but I'd like to mention a few others too,
Prophet, Hooky, Christina, Diva, Irish Mad (literally),Jaffa,Numb,Epic Fail,Zombie,Royscallerane, plenty of others too so apologies in advance - but a big thank you to all.
      🙂

I'm not really influenced by anyone but I do love reading peoples opinions. There can be a problem reading who is being serious or not, especially on a Saturday morning. A lot of rubbish gets posted in the build up to deadline. Overall though, this is a great site because it has so many great posters. I love you all.

      Not sure really.

When I first started posting (about 6years ago) I used to trust posters with good ranks and history - and of course my old Mentor TorresMagic 😉

Now I tend to keep faith with some of the regulars who have been round the block a bit e.g.

Champ, TM, Christina, Gnu, LR, La Roja etc

As well as words of wisdom from fellow scouts, well... I only trust Jonty really 😉

Although his style was a bit abrasive and upset some, Ruth_NZ came up with many interesting and original ideas in 2014-15. Shame he wasn't around so much this season.

We don't appear to have many female posters at present. Lucy was one who could be relied on for useful info about Southampton players.

Balders all round contribution this year second to none.

Lateriser is the Maverick i'd love to be but am too dullard at heart and is always worth a listen.

Torres magic keeps the advice comings throughout the long dark deadzone.

Cheesoid is good for a laugh and has contributed a lot this year.

Plenty of others but they stand out for me.

Whilst I have enjoyed engaging with plenty of regular posters I must mention NickOfOz was one of the first to scout and convince me to go with Mahrez in GW1 as fourth mid over Ritchie.

      I love you all.

I like people who give me reasoned stats. Because I am rubbish at that kind of thing.

But also stats are not everything sometimes you just need to go for it based upon your instinct and I admire those of you who do it with little to back it up especially when you get it right.

I have worked a lot with the FIFFSA team this season especially those who were also part of The Seychelles side and there advice is always worth listening to.

Balders, Diva, Jaffa & Blue Lion are great people to bang ideas off of. I also have a lot of time for Slamdog Mignolet who I entered the Wimbledon Doubles with although our entry didn't last long.

I also think Doosra is great. I like his technique of only giving you half of an answer he then throws a stat table at you and let's you draw your own conclusion from it.

But I don't listen to anyone in particular. What this site is great for is you can throw an idea at the screen and someone else can throw something glaringly obvious back at you so you realise you are a wrong.

Or for helping you decide between 2 courses of action when you are conflicted and there are far to many of you who are great at it to mention

I don't like this - If they're going to keep publishing the ESP thingy they may as well use this for a tie-break if two players are on the sape BPS.

I was on a tram with Milan with, ironically, Man Utd fans when it was attacked by bottles. It really isn't that funny.

I should have explained better. The reaction from the utd players was funny. Not the fact that the coach was being attacked. That is most definately not funny.

    Hiya Guys \
Could someone point me in the direction of a euro fantasy game? Does EUFA have a game for the euros?
The Euro Fantasy League website seems to be the most prominent but opening the page ,it looks a bit hecticly put together and not too professional. Is this the site most people use?

Sorry this is my first fpl year and Im keen to keep playing 🙂

Links would be great, Ive done some searching but cant seem to navigate to any official game page.

If you could get any goalkeeper this week my top 3 would be:
    (a) Cech
    (b) DDG
    (c) Forster

I think Arsenal, Man U. & Soton have the only chance of a cs.
    Thoughts & thanks

      I can't afford (a) or (b) but I'd probably say you're right with (a) being top.

2196 points and squeezed into the top 11k, though only 18 points in front of my ML rival.

I've got; Robles, Moreno, PVA, Coutinho and Defoe left to play

He's got; Gomes, Barkley and Firmino.

    Should I be worried??
