The Community Round Up

Whether wildcarding, benching or just transferring him out, Sergio Aguero continues to dominate discussion.

Our community writers look at the best replacements for the suspended striker, while our hot topic writers assess how Manchester City will perform without him in tomorrow’s derby clash.

Elsewhere we look at your most unusual transfer locations, go in search of Fantasy’s iron men and women and praise one of our brainiest regulars.

We also find time to check up on the latest tables in our Members section and look in on the latest standings from our community competitions.

The Community Articles

With Aguero missing the next two Gameweeks after being found guilty by the FA of violent conduct, contingency plans are now in full swing. RVP fc dropped by with a look at some key candidates to consider for those seeking to ditch the 13.0m-priced forward.

Many sellers have opted to re-invest Aguero’s sizeable funds into midfield. With attacking returns in all three of his run outs, Eden Hazard is at the top of many watchlists. But, in his Members only community article, Bobby F ponders whether the Chelsea man is to be trusted with the captaincy away from Stamford Bridge?

Arsenal midfielders are also popular with so much spare change available. Spreadsheet was on hand to find out whether Alexis Sanchez really is streaky and if Mesut Ozil is worthy of his Mr Consistency nickname.

Gunners fans are among the most optimistic going into Gameweek 4, according to Bolivian Seaman’s latest look at the fans’ forums. Meanwhile, Kavali’s update on the Fantasy Premier League’s most experienced managers shows they are also in fine fettle.

Don’t forget, if you’ve got some analysis, scout reports or features brewing, be sure to visit our community section to submit your article.

The Hottest Topics

Even without Aguero, the Manchester derby promises to be a fiery affair, according to Swissguinesslook back at United forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s rocky relationship with City boss Pep Guardiola. Lateriser12 is also excited by the derby and kickstarted this discussion on whether United or City will prevail.

One of the inspirations for Spreadsheet’s article on Arsenal’s midfielders was Carpe Diem’s look at Alexis Sanchez’s track record for streakiness, when it comes to points hauls.

In stark contrast, the returns of Romelu Lukaku have been amongst the hardest to predict, according to our discussion on whether the Everton forward is worth drafting in.

Two other strikers being considered as Aguero alternatives have got Christina riled up. He’s convinced that even at 7.4 and 7.3 the respective FPL price tags of Crystal Palace’s Christian Benteke and Stoke’s on loan forward Wilfried Bony are over inflated.

He was also in a fluster over the Liverpool midfield, with the likes of Adam Lallana, Roberto Firmino and Philippe Coutinho all coming with considerable strengths and weaknesses. Brian Utd followed up this look at the Liverpool midfield by asking whether they could ever win the Premier League.

For those wildcarding to deal with Aguero’s absence we took a look at some alternative strategies, including switching to a power five in midfield and using Leighton Baines as a covert attacker in a 4-4-2 formation.

We also asked wildcarders which players they want but so far are failing to draft in.

One player that has slipped off wildcarders’ radar is Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic. Following a busy transfer window that saw David Luiz and Marcos Alonso join, the veteran right back may find himself surplus to requirements this season, according to Internal Error.

Although at least Ivanovic won’t be affected by Champions League rotation, after Chelsea’s abysmal 2015/16 campaign. But Tokyo Rising Sun warns that the starting role of many of Arsenal, Manchester United, Tottenham and Manchester City’s stars may be under threat when the competition kicks off next week.

Wildcarding can be a hard graft, but above all it should be fun. We asked what other ways you ensure that Fantasy football still puts a smile on your face. One way is to keep challenging yourself as a Fantasy manager. This is particularly the case for the iron men and women who take part in multiple formats who we canvassed.

Another way to get Fantasy managers’ blood racing is to make last-minute transfers in unusual places. Flights across the Pacific and during labour were among those mentioned to rival Mo Farah’s revelation that he made a late swap to his team just before one of his Olympics finals.

Jarvish is among those community members that likes to take his mind off of Fantasy football now and again by exercising his brain in other ways. This week the community was delighted to hear that he had become a Countdown Octochamp, which guarantees him a place in the TV quiz show’s finals later this year.

Finally, we offered some advice on how to help us spot each week’s best discussions with votes and flag buttons key to this.

The Members Tables

Those who are quickest off the mark in terms of minutes per goal attempt and chances are the subject of my latest table.

Elsewhere Somnus looks at attacking midfielders, Stavseth takes a peak at the most dangerous defenders and, for Surgical_attack, the Premier League’s best headers take centre stage.

If you’re a member and are yet to get to grips with the custom statistics tables, you can view this movie for an explanation of how they work. Also, remember to tag them so that people can find the tables with ease.

The Community Tournaments

The FFS UEFA Champions League competition is nearing the end of its qualifying stage. Jaffalicious posted this update to look ahead to this weekend’s match ups.

      Firmino's ownership is falling. Although he assisted last match looks like there has not been much interest amongst managers. He looks like close to dropping another .1M.

    Hi all, need your opinion!

    Have to decide on midfielder up to 7.9 m. Its importaint to note, that I need this player for 2 following GW only, couse later he will be involved in my aguero plan and transfered out.

    So, my main choises:

    1. Barkley - but allready have Luk and Williams, I fear that 3 from Everton is too much;

    2. Cazorla - have Ozil, but has good form now and fix are easy, 2x arsenal couldnt be that wrong;

    3. Lamela - I would pick him with my eyes closed, couse dont have any Spurs players, but we dont know if he's playing;

    4. Antonio - I get all the hype, but still dont know about Antonio. With Payet ant Lanzini back his points can drop dramatically. Also, I have Zaza and dont know if I should double on WHU attack.

    5. Any othr mid up to 7,9 m.?

    All the help and advices will be much appreciated!

    Thnx in advance. 🙂

    Currently sitting on a wildcard with a defense of

    Valencia, McCauley, Terry, Souare, Amat

    Thinking now may be a good time to.

    A. Terry => Baines (currently have no Everton)
    B. Terry => Masuaku (0.5 less)
    C. Terry => Williams (0.5 less)

      Everton and WHU have a series of good games coming up. Prolly the best among all teams. Chelsea has liv, ars, manu, lei in in next 6. Wudnt be a bad idea, I guess.

    All set to go? WC

    Heaton / Foster
    Kosc / Baines / Evans / Collins / Amat
    Hazard / Sanchez / Sterling / Redmond / Capoue
    Ibra / Lukaku / Diomande

    Not too sure on Redmond. Thoughts? 1.0 ITB (possible upgrades for Dio and Red?)

    Upto 2,315 place - highest i've been with this team:

    Heaton (Pickford)

    Valencia Baines Stones Masuaku Amat

    Antonio Hazard Snodgrass Ozil Capoue

    Lukaku Defoe Costa. (WC played)

    Value - 97.3
    INTB - 3.6

    Gonna take a hit this week I think with no transfers then try and get Kun back in. Although would love to have Deeney/tekkers instead of Defoe!

    What do you guys think about Haz? Tough games coming up, keep?

    Squad Before Wildcard:
    Courtois - Pickford
    Valencia - Williams - Shaw - van Dijk - Stones
    Redmond - Barkley - Pogba - Hazard - Gradel
    Lukaku, Negredo - Long

    Potential Squad With Wildcard:
    Cech - Pickford
    Valencia - Williams - Stones - Walker - McAuley
    Mane - Hazard - Eriksen - Zaha - Capoue
    Lukaku - Kane - Negredo

    I have £0.2m left in the bank and I'm debating the use of my wildcard following a shocking week of only 35 points (saved by Lukaku).
    Any feedback would be much appreciated.

    Need help deciding on next weeks possible transfers!

    My current line-up is as follows:

    Foster (Jakupovic)
    Walker Stones Shaw (A. Smith, Amat)
    De Bruyne Özil Hazard Capoue (Fletcher)
    Benteke Ibra Lukaku

    Been thinking about adding someone with potential in the long run, and Snodgrass came to my mind as a good option for that. In order to get Snodgrass I have to make the following changes:

    Stones -> McAuley
    Shaw -> Evans
    Fletcher -> Snodgrass

    Should I do it? Is it worth trading a really solid defence + really good midfield to get a solid defence + a superb midfield?
    Can you please help? Would really appreciate it.
