Having announced the three month loan deal of Landon Donovan in mid-December, David Moyes wasted no time in giving the American international a starting slot in the first XI, with the LA Galaxy man taking up position on the right side of midfield in this afternoon’s away draw at the Emirates.

Donovan made an immediate impact, flighting in the corner that led to Everton’s shock opener for Leon Osman, as Moyes’ men looked to avenge their 6-1 mauling at the hands of Arsenal on the opening day of the season.

Withdrawn after 68 mins, the Toffees’ new number 9 was impressive throughout, helping out in both defence and attack, as indicated by his passing chalkboard here.

He’s available in FPL for the very-reasonable price of 6.0 and though categorised as a striker, the American international can play on either wing as well as just off a target man.

With Everton’s next two games being at Goodison (Man City then Sunderland) followed by an away trip to Wigan then the Merseyside derby at Anfield, Donovan-with the added bonus of set-piece duties- could well be worth a punt.
