With the Members area now several months into its existence, we’re about to enter a new phase that will see further development work taking place. This will add an array of new features and also marks the end of the early season offer price of £12.50. From Sunday 17th October the fee for Membership will revert to the standard price £20.

So, if you’re yet to sign up as a Member you have just over a week to get in at the offer price of £12.50.

You can view the current benefits here or watch the a YouTube movie we’ve put together, handing you a preview of the current features on offer.

In addition to the current crop of features, Phase Two of the Members area will bring a host of new offerings. Here’s a glimpse at some of the stuff currently on the development list…

  • View all Opta stats by Gameweek – Filter Player and Team statistics for a single gameweek.
  • View all Opta stats by Gameweek Range – Filter Player and Team statistics for a range of gameweeks. So, for example, you can use this facility to view Arsenal’s data over a range of Gameweeks with or without Cesc Fabregas. Custom filters such as this will be supplied as suggestions.
  • View all Opta stats for Home/Away fixtures – Filter player data by Home and Away fixtures to find those players who perform best on the road and those who only produce for home fixtures.
  • View all Opta stats against specific opponents/group of opponents – View those players and teams who raise their game against the cream and the “flat-track bullies” who always produce against the bottom four.
  • New Player and Team Tables – New calculation tables will provide new key data for each position. For example you’ll be able to view stats such as Goal Attempts per minute/start, Crosses per minute/start to help analyse player performance.
  • Revised Player Projections – The new Projection tables will utilise the Opta data to “project” Fantasy returns based on performance stats such as Goals Attempts, Key Passes, Successful Crosses, as well as key Fantasy data such as Goals, Assists and Clean Sheets. This data will be cross referenced with Team statistics and data from previous seasons to create Player Projections that will automatically update each week.

All this goodness is in the works and we’re looking to deliver it in stages over the next few months. I will bring you more on the timescales involved in these features soon. Of course, all our current Members will have access to these features until their Memberships expire at the end of the season.

In addition to the above, Pure Olivia has continued his superb work on the Members Season Ticker and we currently have some exciting new features in test that will once again, hand Members extra tools to help with fixture analysis. We will bring you some more details once our testing stage is complete – I may even produce another movie to take you through the feature set.

If you’re yet to sign up and you want to upgrade your registration to a Member before the price rise then click here. Those without a Fantasy Football Scout account can get one here and subscribe as a Member.

Remember, the current price of £12.50 rises to £20 on Sunday 17th October.

For those who are unable or just don’t wish to use the Paypal payment system for Membership, you can now send cheques and postal orders to the following addresss…

Fantasy Football Scout Payment Centre
17 Wilmar Close
Uxbridge
Middlesex
UB8 1AS

Cheques should be made payable to “Fantasy Football Scout Ltd”.

Please be sure to register a “Free” account first and include your username and the email address you used to sign up with with your payment.

Once we receive your payment your account will be upgraded to a Member and you will be sent an email confirmation.

Can't see it happening though... The Liverpool fans will put an unbelievable amount of pressure on Hicks and Gillette to allow the Red Sox guys to takeover the club... Surely they'll just give up with their stance, they're in a no win situation...

Although it seems they don't give a f*ck about the club, so perhaps they won't sell.... 😉

American owners don't give a damn about the fans. All they are interested in is getting the best deal for their pockets.

The potential new guy seems different to the norm though.

But surely the best deal can't be waiting until the 15th at RBS are forced to take control of the club, forcing Liverpool into administration.

            Username is very poor form.

I've had £100 now on Liverpool getting relegated over the course of the season so far.

I had £20 on em at the start and have staked another £80 today. They are really good back & lay value.

Get on whilst they are still 16/1 on Betfair.

You will be able to lay them at 8/1 a bit later in the year and then you will essentially have a free bet. If the points deduction occurs then you could probably lay at 5/1

        Mark,

If possible, a thing I'd love to see for the members area would be to take teams out of the season ticker, it would be great for comparing fixtures.

So, If I wanted to compare Blackburn and Fulham I could delete Bolton, Birmingham etc..

Yeah the first idea seems a good one... Not sure about which 4.9 defender to get, I would recommend Elmo but you already have him...

Maybe a Bolton defender... They have decent fixtures coming up, including this weekend when you'll need to play him.

ya zat knight seems like a decent shout. scott dann could also be decent at 4.7, west ham & blackpool at home are 2 of their next four fixtures (already have foster though).. its just going to be hard to watch chelsea rolling in the clean sheets but then again it would be harder to watch fabs performances week in week out without him

I think you've kicked yourself in the nuts there Mark. £20 is far too steep – especially when you consider that most people come on here to read the comments and look at the Season ticker.

Can OPTA really make THAT much of a difference to my season? I don't think so.

        Hi,

If I pay £12.50 between now and the 17th do I get 12 months worth of subscription or will it end when the trophies get handed out in May?

        - Btw, if you're into FPL enough to be on this site then you obviously spend a fair bit of your week thinking about your changes... so twenty squid, which you'd spaff on a Friday night in about ten seconds flat, doesn't seem like all that much.

Also the stats are useful for sports writing/blathering in the pub or at the ground on a Saturday.

It's a "season" subscription Limpar so your payment will last you through the 10/11 football season, and then stop pretty much as you say 'when the trophies get handed out'.

I think it's definitely worth it, but I may certainly be biased, however I also understand why people may not want to pay, and that's cool too. I'll buy my new Ferrari(*) next year instead.

            Thanks, Andy. I'm 90% convinced.

The fundamental weigh-up for me is not money but rather will it make me agonise over a transfer even more by shoving the stats under my eyes on how many times a game Alex Hleb picks his nose... or whether it'll make those decisions easier by helping me make a confident backed-up judgement on something... and thus allow me to spend more time doing normal things with normal people.

            Still undecided on that...

Ill be honest, i've bought it and hardly used it.

Its very, very good, but I paid for it to support the site rather than to actually study the stats.

At the end of the day, I can't really be bothered to browse through it all

The £12.50 is to the end of the 10-11 season rather than 12 months, although this is the last chance to get it at this rate and it'll be £20 from then on.

Hicks is trying the hang on to the club on the basis of the deal not being in the clubs best interest and the £300mil undervaluing the club – however the chance of a points deduction seriously undermines this argument. There is no way they will be able to hold on, especially as the new owners have pretty much been approved by the PL.

They're holding on because they're set to lose $140m if this goes through.. it will therefore be the High Court hearing and inevitable appeal that will push the sale beyond the 15th Oct deadline..

Therefore its up to those charming chaps at RBS to determine what's going to happen..

                  Sure thing!
Up to second now, had a couple of nailbiters with Akers (1 defeat 1 draw 2 wins*) and got a last second poxy winner to beat Hairyballs whoever that is...

*One of the games V Akers got cancelled when I was winning 1-0 due to a lost connection. Dodgy yes, but somehow counts as a win for me.

thats the way it should be attila. it used to piss me off bigtime when you were beating someone online and they would just lose the connection but not lose the game. it saves that from happening. not saying akers wuld have done it deliberately. 😛

£20 is not a lot of money. Does everyone want everything for free? If i'd have created a website that takes up so much time and effort to run I'd want paying for it. so would most people. there's loads of other forums if people just want a chat. If anything it wouldn't be unreasonable to make the whole site members only

not a great deal wrong with your team - you were just a bit unlucky in the last gameweek, same as me. i'd replace dann with elmo and not sure about wolves defenders - perhaps swap for a stoke defender?
And don't take so many hits. 16 points in hits probably equates to over 100k on your ranking this early in the season.

Surely you can't blame anyone for putting those 3 on the bench. Arteta, Jags & Figueroa should all have been in your team.

Can't believe you put Foley & Ferguson in ahead of them.

plan on making a move next week that will leave me with this lineup:

    Robinson (Krul)

Dann, Mummy, P Jones, Jara, Foley

    Fabregas, Malouda, Nani, VDV, Albrighton

    Drogba, Tevez, Carroll

I would have to lose A Cole, but I feel like this gives me serious firepower. Is this defence just TOO cheap, or can I expect decent enough returns from this lineup as a whole? Any defenders for 4.5 or less youd prefer over this lot?

Mark - as a recent member I can absolutely support £20 a season as it's a complete bargain. Do as many ads as you like if it adds to your supercar fund!
If the Opta stats allowed you to compare and contrast 2 or 3 players against key stats that would be superb. If you look at the amount of debate on the forum about which players should be chosen, then I reckon this would add a real edge to the members in decision making terms.

I know it's hardly statistically relevant but imagine you had £4.8m to play with and you want an attacking defender, you could compare 3 or 4 players against comparative data such ad crosses, key passes, shots etc. It'd do me.

probably a daft question, but if you join as a member is an annual fee of £20 or a one-off payment?

    Thanks

I was going to be smart, and then realised this was a good question, is it membership for the year or membership indefinitely, hmmm

Hey chaps, £20 is the annual fee, but it's £12.50 at the reduced rate.

Michael, can you recommend me a few decent chenin blancs please? It is rare I find a bad one at the moment but would like your thoughts. Best white wine grape ever. Face.
