This evening Birmingham City have confirmed a new date for their trip to Stamford Bridge, a fixture postponed due to their involvement in the weekend’s Carling Cup Final.

The match will take place on April 20, tacking itself onto the end of gameweek 33.

This gives a double fixture to both teams and means that Chelsea now have a rather appetising little run of games (WIG, wba/BIR, WHM) which will surely tempt Fantasy investment, if they can demonstrate some improved form.

It’s a spell that could well see Fantasy Managers snapping at the opportunity to get on the back of belated Didier Drogba or Frank Lampard bandwagons, or perhaps give new boys Fernando Torres or David Luiz a crack of the whip.

Birmingham meanwhile, see the re-arranged fixture drop alongside a home encounter with Sunderland, in a far more average run of opponents (bla, SUN/che, liv). That spell might not exactly scream renewed investment but, as Alex McCleish’s men also have a double set of fixtures in gameweek 29, we may see many Fantasy managers sit tight on their investments to take them into this additional double.

The slight caveat here is that if Birmingham can beat Bolton in the Quarter-Finals of the FA Cup in a couple of weeks time, then their game with Sunderland will be postponed to an as of yet unknown later gameweek to allow for another trip to Wembley for the Semi-Finals. That may see them slip back to just the unappealing trip to Chelsea.

As we well know, Chelsea themselves no longer have this issue after being knocked out by Everton so, bar some freak weather (or such like), they will definitely have two fixtures.

Our Season Tickers will be updated shortly to reflect today’s announcement.

Imagine a lot of people will be thinking something similar. I'm holding onto Odim (i think). He still looked dangerous yesterday. I'm personally more worried by RvP's rotation risk with 'super' Nik Bendtner and Chamakh waiting around for a game.

              Number of reasons:

1: There's an AP masquerading on totalFPL who didn't want to change name.
2: Wumming levels were at an annoying high (although in fairness i can give as good as i get).
              3: Boredom.
              4: Arnie is awesome.

Since I have to wade through a load of cricket talk to get to the fantasy football gossip these days I guess everyone talks about anything they like so in order to get my own back on all the cricket hos on here I am going to talk about a more interesting sport than cricket:
The obscure, oft-ridiculed "parlor game" of tiddlywinks may be just thing to meet the diverse needs of today's diffident dabblers, destiny-driven doodlers and die-hard dare-devils.

Tiddlywinks: This is an affordable yet amicable sport (whose equipment fits easily into a pocket, packsack or purse, unlike the cerebral game of chess). It's easy to see why young and old alike enjoy this genteel game of skill, strategy, and digital dexterity, (as opposed to test cricket which requiring a batty attitude, loose-fitting clothing not to mention a little red ball plus stumps and wickets).

Just in case you're an avid tracker of trivia tidbits, there are more than 152,000 pages devoted to the topic of "tiddlywinks" on the Internet!

If you're bored with bowling, miserable at marbles, sapped of strength playing snooker, or a tad crotchety at the thought of another afternoon of croquet on the back nine, then tiddlywinks may be just be up your alley!

Tiddley-Winks began as a popular Victorian English game for children, and in the mid-50's gained a new following among young adults in universities (particularly Cambridge and Harvard).

Besides oodles of jumping about and just-in-time jiggling of all sorts, tiddlywinks has its own set of rules, strategy and even titillating terminology including: Blitz, Bomb, Boondock, Cracker, Crud, Good Shot, Gromp, John Lennon Memorial Shot, Lunch, Penhaligon, Scrunge, Squider, Squop, and Wink among others.

Yeah man makes a change from cricket on here:
Who knew that education could be so entertaining?

Lilla Estelle Appleton, a century ago, submitted a dissertation to the faculty of the Graduate School of the Arts and Literature (University of Chicago) in candidacy for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy, entitled "A Comparative study of the play activities of adult savages and civilized children - an investigation of the scientific basis of education".

She had this to say about the education of the day:

"For example, there are no highly specialized finger plays at all comparable, in delicacy of movement, to piano playing, or even to the simple modern games of "crockonole" or "tiddledywinks," plays in which the result sought is dependent upon the perfect control of the small muscles of the fingers, the rest of the body being comparatively quiescent."

The fact of the matter, education isn't much different today except that fingers come in handy for hitting the right keys on all manner of digital devices including computers, cell phones, iPods and interactive software games.

Enough said eh Attila the Bum and his cricket hos can't even beat tiddley-winks

Hmm just had a look at Uniteds results after Champions league games in league. All tight 1 goal wins bar Blackburn (7-1) which was after the dead rubber of Rangers. Add Chelsea away and it isnt that appealing a double

Il be getting VDS probably as I need a goalie and his second game is a bonus. Narrow win and draw i predict for the 2 games

Sort of, tbh i don't think that even explains it very well. My understanding of a false 9 was the middle one of a 433 (upfront) who drops deep to let the wingers run into the space he's created, like RvP at Arsenal. When Rooney is dropping deep into midfield (yeah!) to link up play, there is still Berbatov walking about upfront.

....and that's what I perceive a 'false nine' (why it always written in quotation marks by everyone?!) to be. A lone centre forward that drops deep to create space for the wide players to move into.

Brilliant reporting on the West Ham goal by Chris Whyatt
"In case you were wondering, Hitzlsperger did not place that. Didn't look up. Didn't think. He just absolutely cracked it with the technique of a master brain surgeon. And the ball moved like John Travolta's hips in Saturday Night Fever when gathering pace as it tore past Burnley keeper Lee Grant."

much to my regret I'm thinking bout getting rid off Fabs for the rest of the season.

    A.Fabs>Cahill (next week Odem>Zigic)
    or
B.Fabs,Odem>Barton, Rooney (next week VdV>Cahill)->no hit

B gives me the opportunity to have a heavy strike force and getting a Chelsea striker for the run in as I want to keep RVP and Tevez. So I'm edging towards B...

    What do you think?

      I reckon you're mad 🙂

Fabs is steadily scoring without being outstanding. There is a chance that he will be ourstanding (probably more than anyone else). I'm keeping him but have already got Cahill (who can be swapped for Young) and Odem who will be swapped for Carroll.

If he starts to score big, there is always a possibility to get him back for a hit, especially if RVP gets injured. With RVP taking the penalties fabs score will be limited. Atm Walcott is better value...

I do understand the argument but Fabs is class and class pays. I am very tempted to do Fabs -> Walcott as that would allow me to strengthen my defence but look at bps etc. As dor injuries, I'll deal with them as and when... as long as Fabs and RVP are playing, they're in my team.

fair enough, he's my favourite player and he will continue to geet decent scores. but at first I need 11 guys playing next week, so would you prefer A or B? can't afford VdV>Cahill and don't like Odem in my team...

If I had to choose, B. ButI don't think it's wise to get a bad dgw player in for a good one who only plays one game (and scores more!)

Btw, look at your rank and look at mine... 🙂

Arteta... Is he worth a risky punt for the next few games??

He owes me as I gotta him in and he rewarded me with a straight red..

If you look at his scores this season you have your answer. Unless EVE get a penalty I can't see him score...

I am hoping that the result against Chelski will give Everton a timely boost for their upcoming fixtures and hopefully spark Arteta into life...

Ive never rated Cahill as a good player despite the fact he is having a good season and also he has been shit since his retrun from the Asian cup

I agree but have him over Arteta for the dgw as Arteta is even more sh1te... dgw desperation.

Arteta has always been a better fantasy prospect than Cahill, as his free kicks, penalties and bonus points made him a consistent point scorer (whereas Cahill only ever got points when he scored). Recently though, he has not had any BPs, we havent had a penalty all season and Baines is taking most direct free kicks, so he is not worth it at the moment.

Its not true that he is playing deeper by the way, maybe at the start of the season but he has been a lot higher up in recent games

I'm going for both of them for the double, assuming that Chadam gets booked in one of the next two games.

                And what?!
