While the departure of Cesc Fabregas and the arrival of fellow Spaniard Mikel Arteta at the Emirates triggered a burst of interest in the former Everton man, recent weeks have seen Arteta somewhat overshadowed in Arsenal’s midfield. Arsene Wenger has put his faith in Aaron Ramsey to fill the void left by Jack Wilshere’s ankle injury and the Welshman has flourished. Recent returns have piqued the interest of Fantasy managers and Ramsey is now blinking on the radar as a new source of coverage within an Arsenal side facing up to a run of favourable opponents.

In this latest Members article, we use our Opta data to examine Ramsey’s progress in recent weeks, assess his performances in relation to Arteta, and explore his overall potential within the mid-price Fantasy bracket.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Really don't know why i've seen a few comments today relating to mata and how much of a bad choice he is or how badly he's played, i dont see any of this, the guy is new to the league, and has already settled in well, and as far as i'm concerned the guy is genius.

    Show some love 🙂 🙂

He's defo a good player but he just hasn't delivered is all. Yet....

IF AVB plays Lampard and Drogba while Torres is out I can see them scoring more goals.

Are Agbonlahor, Ramsey, Nani & Ramires going to outscore the 4 you would have fielded otherwise by more than 16 points?

Lets add it up? My prediction: No
        Ramires 2pts
        Nani 11pts
        Ramsey 6pts
        Agbonlahor 5pts
        24pts

        SWP 5pts
        Petrov 2pts
        Sessegnon 5pts
        Rooney 10pts or sub 2pts
        14pts

Arsenal will score more goals than Wolves so Ramsey probably with a better chance of goals/assists I suppose.
Wolves cant score to save their lives at the moment!

Anyone else noticed that CTC has Rooney dropping tonight? Does the red flag protect him from dropping?

Exactly, because he isn't. He only become protected once the injured flag is removed ... so his price should drop tonight based on what we know ... annoying really. Thoughts on who to replace him with? I haven't got any other United cover (mistake I know!!).
        http://crackthecode.fiso.co.uk/FAQ.html

        FLAGGING & PROTECTION OF PLAYERS

Q: Flagging & Protection of Players? Explain away…
A: When a player is either injured, doubtful, suspended or ineligible then the (i) next to their name on FPL will be flagged red or yellow.

Q: Does this mean the player is protected from any price drop?
A: NO – absolutely not and this is a major mistake many people make. Anyone who is flagged will still be able to increase and decrease in value. The increase NTI target stays the same. However the NTO Threshold for a price drop is approximately 2.5 times greater than the usual Threshold for price drops.

Rooney out for Aguero or Dzeko out for Aguero. Will Dzeko start? What do we think? Its higher risk to sell Rooney cause if he starts he could do serious damage right? And it will be paint full having Dzeko for whole international brake, only for waiting for him to be dropped again. I believe that Mancini will be back to 4 5 1 again.

    Thoughts?

I have done Rooney out for Aguero for these reasons:
      a) Rooneys price is dropping tonight, I don't lose anything personally but others might. If he doesn't play this weekend he could drop again.
      b) Agueros price is rising.
      c) I did Dzeko -> Agbonlahor too.

Wait to see if he drops tonight.

It looks like he will, but I'd wait and see. If he does drop then tomorrow night is probably the time to get rid. I'm wildcarding Saturday night so I may well take him out tomorrow if he drops tonight as the chances are he's going to drop further during the International break.

I should be able to get him back closer to £12-12.2m by the end of the international break.

          Hm. So the question is:

Rooney -> Aguero (who many in my ML have, no extra cash to upgrade MF)

          Or

Rooney -> Agbo (can then bring in Mata AND DVD for Brunt/Jarvis)

          or

Rooney -> Balotelli (then Brunt for DVD)

    Just to get this straight.

    Got Rooney at 12.0
    Value rose to 12.5
    Value in squad 12.2

Thus if Rooney hits 12.3, then he becomes 12.1 mill in my squad and I lose value on him then.

    Correct?

      Correct.

As I said above, the time to sell is tomorrow night. By then SAF should have had his press conference and hopefully told us if Rooney is fit enough to play or not.

If he looks set for another drop tomorrow then sell him.

If he doesn't play at Norwich his price will plummet during the 2 week break.

I'm lining up Roonpig to RVP or Ade and thinking a 4 pt hit to get Nani. Prob get Ade as my rival has him and he's more likely to rise than RVP. Besides, being on a WC on Saturday means I can get whoever I want, within my budget, from then.

Either way man you gotta get a bit of Man united in this week. B would structure ur team nicely with the possibility of getting rooney back in later. I see the players you get in B will do better and gain back that 4 points you lose, Ramsey vs Tot dont see too many points in him compared to Nani.

Oxlade-Chamberlain... If he starts becoming a regular starter in the premier league, could be a bargain at 5.9!

he's played centre mid, so he can play. can see why arsenal were frustrated with his buy as they needed immediate solutions but that doesn't mean he wont be a good buy.

    Hey lads my team is:

    Given (Ruddy)

Bosingwa - Kompany - Enrique - Brown (Simpson)

Silva - Nani - Sess (Ferguson, Moses)

    Rooney - Dzeko - Suarez

    Thoughts on trades this week?

    I was considering:

    Dzeko > Best
    Sess > VdV

Yeah could be. Also depends on the length of the Rooney injury. It is very tempting to shift him out to Van Persie because of the fixtures.

id be surprised if Roo is out for more than one GW, although Fergie did make light of his injury last year and it went on and on.

'Key passes' can be very misleading though. I think any pass that leads to an effort on goal is counted as a 'key pass'. So a 2 foot sideways pass 40 yards out, that leads to a preposterous Dempsey long shot, will count as a key pass, whereas a magical through ball from Silva that leads to Dzeko being one-on-one with the keeper and then tripping over the ball won't count as one.

Nice thinking Priest. So we need to combine with passes in opponent half and final third then.
