Craven Cottage is the venue, as Fulham versus Liverpool wraps up Gameweek 14 on a bitterly cold Monday night. Braving the unpleasant conditions outside, the Dugout Discussion is open once more. Martin Jol and Kenny Dalglish have handed their team sheets in, and this is how the sides line-up tonight…

Fulham XI: Schwarzer, Kelly, Senderos, Hangeland, JA Riise, Murphy, Etuhu, Dempsey, Ruiz, Zamora, Dembele.

Liverpool XI: Reina, Johnson, Enrique, Skrtel, Agger, Henderson, Adam, Spearing, Bellamy, Carroll, Suarez.

The hosts make one change to the side that drew at the Emirates, as Steven Kelly comes in for Chris Baird at right-back.

As for the visitors, the devastating injury to their star defensive-midfielder Lucas, means that Jay Spearing comes in as his replacement. Elsewhere, Andy Carroll partners Luis Suarez up-front, and surprisingly there’s no reward in the form of a starting berth for Maxi Rodriguez, who’s enjoying somewhat of a purple patch at the moment.

The Dugout Discussion chatroom can be found by clicking here, so come in and follow all the action as it unfolds.

I wanna say SELL. But the fixture suggests HOLD for another game.

C'mon.. If you hold him this long, aren't you tempted to play him at home against QPR?

Btw, I just looked at your team. I think you have more pressing issue to deal with your back line.

I sold Aguero this week. He's done well but I feel he's a little frustrating. He always plays well, misses a few sitters and then gets brought off after 60-odd minutes. Then whoever our of Balo or Dzeko replaces him always seem to fill their boots against a DF thats been chasing Agueros shadow for most of the game.

        In DF I'd do Ward>Hibbert/Shawx

Yep and the leader of my mini-league has been miles ahead ever since he had Aguero from the start and he scored most of those points between GWs 1-5.

Don't get me wrong he's a great player and he certainly scores a lot better than most but he also takes up 11.odd mil in your budget. And for that price his form and fixtures are both a little cold right now

Surely Ferguson must be a priority to get rid of? Especially with a busy xmas calendar on the horizon.

Personally if you want Bale so much then I'd probably do VDV>Bale and Ferguson>A.N other

If you do your other options then you'll have three spurs players which seems a little over-kill. If they do poorly in any given game then its almost impossible to get a good score

I am sticking with VDV. He played 16mins in the last game, so must be somewhat fit, and I feel the UEFA will be a blessing for fantasy managers. Some of his rivals (Defoe especially) will play in that fixture and so Harry must be thinking about throwing VDV in against Stoke.

And if the man plays I'd rather have him than any other Spurs players

Perhaps someone can explain Please. Last night's game, Liverpool have a player sent off. Minutes later KK decides to open the game up by bringing on his wide players, but at the same time takes off the very target man they will be crossing to. Fulham overwhelm Liverpools defence and nick the three points.

    Who's side was KK on?

Done 2 trannies this week for a 4pter. Gotta stop my slide that started 2GWs ago (I blame Bale)

    Did Eagles>Nani and Aguero>Ba

    Vorm (Westy)
    Naylor Enrique Simpson
    Nani(vc) Silva VDV Walters
    RVP Ade Ba

    Subs: Drenthe Wilko Hibbert

Not overly enamoured with my team considering I used my WC only 3 weeks ago but think it's ok.

RE: Eagles. I agree he's good value but I bought him 3GWs ago as my bench player and he's had to come on in all 3 GWs and scored 2 in each. Exactly what happened to me with Petrov too.

Bolton are on the slide badly and so I wouldnt bother if I were you.

I'm just being stubborn with Drenthe I think. He was my differential over my mini-league rivals and he's failed for me thus far. But I have hope

Hey guys, thinking of playing my WC. Currently have:

    Vorm Given
    Evans Enrique Baines Raylor Brown
    Silva VDV Sinclair Barfa Moses
    Sturridge Adebayor RVP

I think everything except my frontline needs some major reshuffling, stick or twist?

It depends on what you're WCing to really.

Your team has a solid spine (more so if VDV is back). Getting rid of Evans, Given and Moses over the next 2 GWs might turn it around for you though and leave you with a decent team and your WC intact

If I still had him I certainly would hold for this GW.

As a Man Utd fan it's going to be interesting to see how Fergie deals with this Hernandez injury.

He could go Jones Fletcher/Carrick/Giggs in CM and play Rooney upfront with Wellbeck or Berba. If Roon is back upfront then you could be in for a decent GW and maybe even be there for the start of his fantasy revival

Do you guys think I could get away with making no transfers this week?

    Westwood
    Enrique, Jones, WILKO
Eagles, B Arfa, Silver, DRENTHE, VDV
    V Persie, Adebayor

    Bench: Krul: Ward, HERNANDEZ, RANGEL

those in capitols are either doubtful or injured. I have 1FT but the players I want to bring in have tough fixtures this week and Welbeck is an uncertain starter, so I would like to wait a week. So do you think I might have 11 starters in that lot? and is it worth it, having 2FT next week could be well worth the wait

Yeah I have been looking at Sturridge and Welbeck, However Sturidge has a really tough fixture this week and I am not certain Welbeck will start just yet, he may make an appearance off the bench and start the following week. This is the crux of my problem. So I am thinking of saving a transfer for that reason, but can I get away with it?

Cheers JO. Getting rid makes sense, might get him back when his fixtures ease up.

I could essentially get anyone below 10mil. Ba, Suarez, Ade are the 3 contenders for that priceless striker's spot.

Since my h2h rival has Ade, might just pull off a Ba. Any other wild ideas? 😉

Are you asking a question? I'm sure you asked a question from what i had already written so maybe comment somewhere else? I have more time for people like EVS than people making sarcy comments like you 🙂 Ok so, EVS i was looking at the Liverpool fixtures as well and felt like i needed someone attacking from them so i would definitely recommend one of those transfers, i'm not sure about Ba now though because our squad is looking thin so i can't see the goals continuing at the rate they have so far

Firstly, thanks for the vote of confidence 😉 !!!

I am not sure about BA either, despite the band wagon. I have been saying Suarez for this run for weeks. But the Adam & BA combo, is an alternative to Suarez & a 6.5m (TBC) mid option...

          Hmmm...

But if you have done suarez, you cant be unhappy with that (ATM)!

And Ross, 2 defenders are out, so what?
Suarez can't score even with a fit team, and his 2 million + more, and Vidic/Vermaelen can at least keep clean sheets.

Ok I just did a quick comparison between Eagles and Gower

Gower's stats as ENR mentioned are surprisingly good and he is on corners.. Eagles influence and threat are much better however and the fact he shoots on goal has made me decide him..

Still Gower is one to look at when I get round to offloading Faurlin

Gower is a good player. But, if you compare him with Eagles, I would definitely say Eagles.

      1. Gower is very potential for assist.. Only assist. He hasn't much shot per game and operated out of the box. Eagles is very potential for a shot (more points) and also assist.

      2. Gower and Swansea normally play well at Home only. You can argue that most assists from Gower were made in away game, but you know Swansea are good only at home. Eagles, on the other hands, you can expect him to perform either at home or away game.

      Umm.. What else?

I think Spurs were far more reliant on VDV last year. This year they can cope with dropping/resting him from game to game much better to protect his hammy I feel. I would be surprised if he did play all the games over the christmas period. Urgh, I wish I swapped him for Bale as soon as he got injured.

I dont know about getting rid of vdv.... Just checked and you have Bale also, so it nmight be worth it then. I dont agree with the "dont take a hit for a defender", the majority of people taking hits for defenders are taking them because their defs arent playing.

if you can manage brown to vermaelen(think you are 0.1 short) you'll have the best team i've seen on here

4 big hitters in defence may be a little OTT - he'd be forced to bench one each week most likely.

If you link your team or put your whole team up with £ in the bank and how many free transfers you've got, I'll let you know what I would do?
