Arsenal have this afternoon confirmed they are closely monitoring the proposed industrial strike action due to take place on the London Underground this Boxing Day.

With the Gunners set to face Wolves at 3pm that day, the club have made supporters aware via their official website that, in the event of a strike, any decision as to whether the match goes ahead will be made with the public’s safety in mind. Both Arsenal and Wolves are already liaising with the relevant authorities ahead of any announcement.

Chelsea also have a home game that day, with Fulham due to travel to Stamford Bridge and although the club have yet to comment, reports over the weekend have suggested both these matches could conceivably be at risk if the strike goes ahead.

At the moment, this is just a heads-up. We must stress that nothing has been finalised either way but Fantasy managers should at least be aware over a possible postponement on the horizon.

With Man United and Liverpool hosting Wigan and Blackburn that Gameweek and with Spurs taking a trip to Norwich, there would be plenty other strong options available if the games are called off. Owners of Chelsea and Arsenal assets face a real quandary, though- with both clubs at home to Aston Villa and QPR respectively on New Year’s Eve, would getting rid for one gameweek be the sensible option?

Plenty to mull over, then, and, added to this is the possibility of a double gameweek for both London clubs if the matches are indeed cancelled, it’s fair to say we’ll be keeping a keen eye open for any update.

The second option doesn't have Baines coming out then. It's just i think Rooney will go on one of his runs and could score lots against Wigan and Blackburn.

Ok lads I am considering replacement for NDyer and have 4.7 to spend. He’ll be a bench folder but with the Christmas rotation he could get the chance.

I am thinking Andrew Crofts from Nor costs 4.7 has wol TOT FUL qpr wba. He got 3 assist against New. Good fixtures to come from the bench if needed. Talk to me please lads. Is he a regular starter, is he a good punt? Anybody to share some info? Other wise I must go with Moses and he has shit fixtures.

Why he didn’t play several fixtures in a row? Was he injured? Any Welsh lads around?

    Cheers,

    P.S. Sorry for the repost

Moses is a better pick than Crofts imo. As you say you arent planning on playing him right now so fixtures are kind of irrelevant.

Well I don't plan yes, but he surely will come in and if the Ars and Che games are canceled I will need all the help from my bench/ Nor are always scoring. He has Utd away in that fixture. I think this transfer is very important. There will be plenty of rotation in the festive period, so the bench is important. Also if Bale doesn't play, surprise here and there I could be left with 9 - 10 men,

Any info on this lad? His record isn't' that bad 60 app, 8 goals for Norwich. First summer signing too

Fair enough I wouldn't do it for a hit. But I've done it as an FT, getting rid of Ramsey, which must be better, Ramsey is like the opposite kind of FPL player, plays all the time and scores nothing (good in real life though).
To be honest Everton have such a negative lineup this season anyway that most of them nominally should be able to defend, maybe Moyes is just suggesting they actually do so.

If it was a free I'd do it.. Just can't see him scoring 4 points more than my first sub... Think Moyes will use him as a 20 min cameo again if required.. Knob head IMO if he does... He looked class

Yep Moyes has historically done well with Everton's resources but he's killing them this season, here you have the only guy in the team who seems able to create and you're leaving him on your bench when you can't score goals.

I think Moyes is gonna have to go for it and play Drenthe. I will probably select him... knowing it's a risk.

With the poss strikes, and doubts over Given and Dyer then saving my FT is wise. I have:

    Vorm
    Enrique Jones Simpson (Brown/Walters)
    Drenthe Silva(v) Nani (Walters/Brown)
    RVP(c) Ade Ba

    Given BAE Dyer

2.9M in bank, what to do?

1 - Save FT, who to play Walters or Brown
    2 - Dyer to Shelvey/sub 5M mid
    3 - Given---> sorensen/ruddy
4 - BAE --->Vermalean (too much money in defence if i do that?!)

He was for the Fulham match but was brought on at half time with Bolton 2-0 down his absence. Dropping him seemed like a daft thing for Coyle to do and I reckon doing that was a tacit admission he agrees. Wouldn't be surprised if he's back as a regular against Blackburn.

well he had 1 or 2 good weeks, which created the bandwagon, then he went quiet for ages. Good for 2 points each week, or even a dismal 1 point like last week, gutted.

Yeah was gutted too and every time I play him I know it's a gamble. But if he gets double digits even once every 3-4 weeks it pays off.

suprised no one has considered taking a punt on valencia.... over next 3 xmas games, he will surely start atleast 2, and for 7.8 mill, the punt if worth taking, considering the ease of the fixtures..... hese started last 3 games, looks fresh and is ahead of young due to him comming to form recently.

furthermore, if the punt doesnt come to fruition, then the jan wild card will solve things.... thoughts??

Oh I've considered him alright and was ultra tempted after he got his fourth assist since returning, but he has the massive 10m Ashley Young lurking behind him. I simply cannot see Valencia staying ahead of Young, and cannot see Nani taken out for Young either.

Just wanted to discuss Luiz Suarez.

I have seen plenty of him this season and I think he is superb. I've seen plenty criticism of him on here and just think its WHEN rather than IF his quality performances translate into FF points.

Just wondered if anyone had a similar view on any other players not reaching their potential/ being unlucky?

I admire Suarez's ability (if not his personality) but I had him earlier in the season and realized someone cannot be unlucky every game all season. That's absurd, it's clearly to do with his playing style. Very flashy and very wasteful.

I think Jones has been immense but obviously being a CB by trade he has wasted a lot of chances recently - hit the woodwork and stuff, near misses. It's part of the gamble.

As a liverpool fan I have to agree, some of his performances have been amazing, carrying the team, he;s a complete striker, and is involved in almost everything liverpool do, but so far he's been unlucky with the woodwork quite a lot, and every visiting keeper coming to Anfield seems to play a blinder which has kept his scores down, but he could've had 2 against Villa if crossbar was a shade thinner.

Thats been the story all season, but I shipped him out of my FF team a while back because there are cheaper, players with better points production. If he gets up to his full potential then he's be great value in any team, right now, i'm leaving him.

Also come tuesday/wednesday there will be a decision on the whole racism hearing thing, which could conceivably ban him for 10 games or longer, which would be tragic for liverpool's season and the end of him as a source of points til near the end of the season

Yeah... lucky the points weren't so great 😉
I want him to do well in a way because I like to see talent flourish. It is a mystery that someone can be so good at getting front of the goal and not just tap it in.

ok folks here is my dilema. (team is linked)

I have 1 FT which I plan to save this week giving 2 ready for the great looking GW18. I will need to replace the Yak that GW. My first thought was Bale out (as my main rival has him) and Hernandez in, but then there is DGW to consider. I have 0.7 in bank, so, unless I downgrade somewhere I have 6.4 to spend, and am struggling to see who to get. Any help would be appreciated.

I see your point, I should have said, Bale out for a 5.3 or less mid and Yak- Hernandez. Morison and Holt were the 2 I considered, but since Hernandez left, my striker slots have become somewhat unreliable (bar RvP). but Bale out seems like madness.

I'm in the same problem of considering reducing Spurs coverage before DGW 20. My solution is that I will establish a stable lineup for GW18, taking hits if necessary, and then save transfers so I can bring two Spurs players just before the DGW. This is also better because Spurs actually don't have the best fixtures until the DGW.

So for example for GW18 I might take Adebayor out for Rooney and consider taking Bale out, but 2FT them both back in for GW20.
