Arsenal have this afternoon confirmed they are closely monitoring the proposed industrial strike action due to take place on the London Underground this Boxing Day.

With the Gunners set to face Wolves at 3pm that day, the club have made supporters aware via their official website that, in the event of a strike, any decision as to whether the match goes ahead will be made with the public’s safety in mind. Both Arsenal and Wolves are already liaising with the relevant authorities ahead of any announcement.

Chelsea also have a home game that day, with Fulham due to travel to Stamford Bridge and although the club have yet to comment, reports over the weekend have suggested both these matches could conceivably be at risk if the strike goes ahead.

At the moment, this is just a heads-up. We must stress that nothing has been finalised either way but Fantasy managers should at least be aware over a possible postponement on the horizon.

With Man United and Liverpool hosting Wigan and Blackburn that Gameweek and with Spurs taking a trip to Norwich, there would be plenty other strong options available if the games are called off. Owners of Chelsea and Arsenal assets face a real quandary, though- with both clubs at home to Aston Villa and QPR respectively on New Year’s Eve, would getting rid for one gameweek be the sensible option?

Plenty to mull over, then, and, added to this is the possibility of a double gameweek for both London clubs if the matches are indeed cancelled, it’s fair to say we’ll be keeping a keen eye open for any update.

    Krul( Vorm)
    Enrique, Jones, Jagielka (Brown, R.Taylor)
    Vdv, Silva, Bale, Moses (Sinclair)
    Rvp(c), Ade, Ba(vc)

Vorm or Krul => Vorm away vs poor Everton attack
Krul @ home vs West brom
Sinclair Vs Moses => Sinclair away 2 Everton.( He does not perform in away matches)
Moses home 2 Liverpool. (He played well against Chelsea and could have scored)
& also Bale & Raylor are doubtful.
    Any other suggestions please?

What are your plans with Bale?

I'm thinking of doing Dyer > Drenthe, with a decent 1st sub and half decent 2nd sub if both Bale/Drenthe don't play

Will keep Bale but maybe tempted to do Bale>Valencia.
Sinclair to Drenthe will be good for the DGW, but Drenthe still is not a starter at everton @ the moment.

Not looking great for Drenthe in the longer run

‘What we want are players who can make a difference,’ said Moyes. ‘We want them to entertain but for the right reasons. There will be periods in the game when the defensive side of things is not the biggest part of Roy’s game.

‘But we had to get back into this game and it was the time for Roy to be most effective. Sometimes in the Premier League, the harder side of it is the defending. You are away from home, you have got to dig and keep in the game.'

ok folks here is my dilema. (team is linked)

I have 1 FT which I plan to save this week giving 2 ready for the great looking GW18. I will need to replace the Yak that GW. My first thought was Bale out for a 5.3 or less mid (as my main rival has him) and Hernandez in for Yak, but then there is DGW to consider. I have 0.7 in bank, so, unless I downgrade somewhere I have 6.4 to spend on a striker, and am struggling to see who to get. Any help would be appreciated.

I am seriously thinking in getting Hernandez instead of Yaks for next week too! I freed up the funds this week and sold VDV > Drenthe, could have waited but for some reason I have a feeling he will have a good game. 4.3 in the bank to get Hernandez. Don't really see a better option at the moment besides Rooney but he is too expensive.

I agree, but VdV is a differential for me, Bale isn't, hence why I'm considering Bale out. I agree, regular scorers are hard to come by, and Hernandez is one of them.

I did a crazy transfer VDV > Drenthe. There is a slight chance it could work this week.... Everton has to explode at some point and for some strange reason I think it will be against Swansea.

I'm also playing Al Habsi instead of Vorm.

2 crazy moves! I hope I'm not shooting myself on the foot.

From the VDV sale I freed up 4.3 to do a Yakubu > Hernandez next week. Hernandez was supposed to be injured for like a month but he came in as a sub last game. You think he will play for 90 minutes in both upcoming games Wigan & Blackburn? If he does then he could outscore Rooney...

Am I starting to loose it? hahaha. I lost first place in my country by 1 point but still the pressure is doing my head!

    Team for this week:

    Al Habsi
    Jones, Enrique, Brown
    Silva, Nani (VC), Drenthe, Walters
    RVP (C), Ade, Yakubu

    (Vorm / BAE, Gower, Shawcross)

I'm usually of the opinion that if not many people are considering the same thing it's usually going to be a bad decision. My team's going good at the moment though and I'm feeling like a little gamble so I've put Henderson in on the basis that he'll play every game now Lucas is out and Gerrards still not fit. Is this a shocking decision or is there somebody out there thinking that with the fixtures LFC have coming up he could be a good coup?

He could be, and he does seem to be guaranteed a start til Gerrard's back, but if he's employed as a defensive mid to replace Lucas his production will be poor. He did well in a few games early season, but i can't really see him bringing in too many points, and for his price (~6 mill?) there should be better options, i'd say Sinclair is probably a better option atm

Him and Adam will play 90mins, yes.

However, Shelvey seems to be playing further forward than both but I feel he will be rotated. Henderson seems to play back and sideways rather than go forward. Maybe worth a punt on Liverpool's fixtures but after the Suarez case and possible ban.

Tough one. Moyes has basically come out and said he's a 'luxury' player, i.e. he's always a threat going forward, but he hates defending and tracking back.

Who knows what Moyes'll do. Swansea love possession so he may opt for someone more industrious, or he'll go for the win from the off by starting Drenthe.

I read the Moyes interview with worry, but you got to expect Swansea to be on the back foot against Everton at home. If Everton can't dominate that fixture, where can they? Swansea don't have a great attack so you'd hope this falls into the Drenthe category.

Simpson is more guaranteed a starting place. Raylor is competing with Santon at left back.
Simpson has nailed down RB, Coloccini and either Perch or Williamson should take the CB spots.

Pardew tried Raylor, Simpson, Perch, Santon while Colo was still out and they didn't do well. I think without Saylor and Colo in the middle Raylor is seen as more of a risk as they are less able to cover him going forward, but i imagine he will keep being rotated with Santon - hence get Simpson.

Not bothered about that, only have RVP anyway. Would captain Rooney - easy.

Anyway, the strike is 1 day, they can have the matches on Tuesday.

yeh, piss easy to re-organise these things in 24h. Just a case of asking a few staff to come in and getting a hotel for 1 more night. Don't think theres anything else to worry about.....

    repost

ok folks here is my dilema. (team is linked)

I have 1 FT which I plan to save this week giving 2 ready for the great looking GW18. I will need to replace the Yak that GW. My first thought was Bale out (as my main rival has him) for a 5.3 or less mid and Hernandez in for Yak, but then there is DGW to consider. I have 0.7 in bank, so, unless I downgrade somewhere I have 6.4 to spend on a striker, and am struggling to see who to get. Any help would be appreciated.

I see you have no chelsea cover, so it is pretty simple, you need to downgrade somewhere, not Bale imo, so that you can get Sturridge in for Yakibaki.

Lescott is well into FIFA, I remember it was one of the FIFA advert videos about players playing FIFA that had Rooney talking about how sometimes he played Lescott at FIFA and got royally thrashed...

This is possibly the hardest decision I've had to make, as I have 2 freebies, but no clear cut decision.

Dyer is out and he wasn't getting many minutes either, so one option is to remove him. I'd have 6.1 and the only midfielder that interests me in that bracket is Drenthe... but of course he's not guaranteed to start.

I could make a defensive move which would probably see Evans coming in for Brown. I'd be spoilt for choice in defence as all 5 will have good fixtures (Ward, Evans, Jones, Simpson, Enrique)

So as things stand I have 2 choices...

    A: Brown/Ward > Evans
    B: Dyer > Drenthe

Personally I would do Ward to Evans because of the fixtures. Norwich, Arsenal, Tottenham, Chelsea for next 5 games.
Dyer> Drenthe is a good move if u planning for the DGW but he is still not a starter.

If you can afford Drenthe I would take that punt personally. Are you going to use both your frees?

I have the same dilemma and am deliberating over either, or both of the following to free up funds:

      Dyer>Toite & Naylor>Caulker
