Arsenal have this afternoon confirmed they are closely monitoring the proposed industrial strike action due to take place on the London Underground this Boxing Day.

With the Gunners set to face Wolves at 3pm that day, the club have made supporters aware via their official website that, in the event of a strike, any decision as to whether the match goes ahead will be made with the public’s safety in mind. Both Arsenal and Wolves are already liaising with the relevant authorities ahead of any announcement.

Chelsea also have a home game that day, with Fulham due to travel to Stamford Bridge and although the club have yet to comment, reports over the weekend have suggested both these matches could conceivably be at risk if the strike goes ahead.

At the moment, this is just a heads-up. We must stress that nothing has been finalised either way but Fantasy managers should at least be aware over a possible postponement on the horizon.

With Man United and Liverpool hosting Wigan and Blackburn that Gameweek and with Spurs taking a trip to Norwich, there would be plenty other strong options available if the games are called off. Owners of Chelsea and Arsenal assets face a real quandary, though- with both clubs at home to Aston Villa and QPR respectively on New Year’s Eve, would getting rid for one gameweek be the sensible option?

Plenty to mull over, then, and, added to this is the possibility of a double gameweek for both London clubs if the matches are indeed cancelled, it’s fair to say we’ll be keeping a keen eye open for any update.

Exactly hence why I am shipping him for Larsson if he doesnt start on wed. I could not care about differentials or DGW if the player is not getting 90mins when fit.

After reading article above it is last chance saloon for Drenthe, I could not give a shite about having any Everton for the DGW if he doesnt start vs Swansea. Am thinking of saving my FT, team linked, should I save it?

    Also, thoughts appreciated:

1 - Play Walters or Brown
    2 - Dyer--->Shelvey as a punt until WC
3 - Brown --->Evans (or wait until boxing day games)

Of the two sides [hosting] in this situation, it's a lot more feasible for Arsenal to be able to postpone as they at least don't have the financial implications of being set to screen on Sky.

I think after both teams(Ars & Che) play midweek, they will assess the fitness of their players and call off their games with the Strike excuse if they have any injury/fatigue issue..

Probably rescheduling it in of the CCup s/f midweek if none get a FA cup replay..

Playing five defenders is never really a good idea so you have to play Drenthe unles you know he wont start.

Out of the rest, I would pick Simpson because he is the least likely to get an assist/goal.

After Woodgate's experiences as a right back i think Wilkinson will get his place back as long as he's fit enough.

Depending on your keeper's i'd look at doing McAuley/Boyata to Caulker. If you don't have Vorm (why?) then this is a no brainer, even if you do, I don't fancy any players from Bolton at the moment, they're conceeding every game, so Boyata is a bit of a waste even though he's cheap and Caulker is tempting..

    Team is:

    Krul
    Baines, Simpson, Enrique
    Silva, Nani, Bale, Drenthe
    RVP(c), Ade, Ba(vc)

    (Vorm – BAE, Brown, Dyer)

Just noticed 1pt Dyer is now red flagged until the end of the month and reckon I need playing subs due to rotation risks. I’ve 0.4 in the bank but who to buy?

Anyone who gets 90 minutes, and some chance of sneaking assists/goals. Gower got subbed after 45, so don't know if that means he won't start or not, I'd go with Gomez/Moses.

But having Drenthe is better than having Dyer, because Dyer surely wont start till new year.

    repost

ok folks here is my dilema. (team is linked)

I have 1 FT which I plan to save this week giving 2 ready for the great looking GW18. I will need to replace the Yak that GW. My first thought was Bale out (as my main rival has him) for a 5.3 or less mid and Hernandez in for Yak, but then there is DGW to consider. I have 0.7 in bank, so, unless I downgrade somewhere I have 6.4 to spend on a striker, and am struggling to see who to get. Plan to do Ba - Studge in GW19, so he is not in my thoughts. Any help would be appreciated.

    Vorm (ruddy)
    Verm, henrique, Barnett, Mcauley, turner
    Nani, mata, roe-Coker, silva, bale,
    Ade, RVP, Ba.
    Do I do this:
Bale > drenthe, turner > jones. 4 point hit
    0.4 in bank.
    Or just:
Turner > caulker. Table topper has evans so want something different.

Have a first XI set up with quite a few doubts. Might have to take a hit on it to sort it out to my satisfaction, and also not sure about what order to start my mids. What would you do?

    Vorm
    Jones Enrique Raylor
    Nani Silva Bale Drenthe
    RVP(C) Ade Sturridge

    Subs: Eagles, Naylor, Wilkinson

Don't know really, but my guess Chico will start. My plan is to get him for Christmas to destroy Wigan and Blackburn. It looks to good to be true...

Good riddance, I keep forgetting to put him as last sub adn he comes on for a 1 point annoyance, can't wait to get rid.

Why are people still getting Swansea defence in? Apart from QPR their fixtures are horrible.

I see that Caulker is a bargain at 3.9, but not until after we'll get the Winter WC. Definately not worth bringing in yet.

Captain choices RVP, Silva or Yak?
RVP against Villa who have only conceeded more than 2 goals once this season
Silva against a Stoke team looking more stable defensively lately
Yak against an awfully defensive Bolton at home

Cant choose between the three at the min, any help?
