Arsenal have this afternoon confirmed they are closely monitoring the proposed industrial strike action due to take place on the London Underground this Boxing Day.

With the Gunners set to face Wolves at 3pm that day, the club have made supporters aware via their official website that, in the event of a strike, any decision as to whether the match goes ahead will be made with the public’s safety in mind. Both Arsenal and Wolves are already liaising with the relevant authorities ahead of any announcement.

Chelsea also have a home game that day, with Fulham due to travel to Stamford Bridge and although the club have yet to comment, reports over the weekend have suggested both these matches could conceivably be at risk if the strike goes ahead.

At the moment, this is just a heads-up. We must stress that nothing has been finalised either way but Fantasy managers should at least be aware over a possible postponement on the horizon.

With Man United and Liverpool hosting Wigan and Blackburn that Gameweek and with Spurs taking a trip to Norwich, there would be plenty other strong options available if the games are called off. Owners of Chelsea and Arsenal assets face a real quandary, though- with both clubs at home to Aston Villa and QPR respectively on New Year’s Eve, would getting rid for one gameweek be the sensible option?

Plenty to mull over, then, and, added to this is the possibility of a double gameweek for both London clubs if the matches are indeed cancelled, it’s fair to say we’ll be keeping a keen eye open for any update.

Okay, changes for gameweek 17 are made.

    Vorm (Friedel)

Jones / Evans / Taylor / Enrique (Caulker)
Nani / Silva / Bale (Gower, Ferguson)
    Ade / RvP / Ba

Looks good? Swapped Vermaelen for Evans, Nani in for Larsson. Wondered about Drenthe too, but that would leave me with a -4 point hit, and I'm counting on Swansea's defensive routine. 😛

Anybody think its nuts the way Sturridge got 3 bonus points for the Wigan game?? What was that about? Great goal but Chelsea were pants. Had him as my capt so couldnt believe I got 18 points for him. He didnt even play past 70ish min?? Also, is there a particular time the GW17 teM is put up or are they not doing one?

ok I've been given the impression that my post was too long, so here it in bullet point form

*Don’t want to do any transfers this week to give myself 2 next week

*Need to take Yak out after Bolton, but would only have 6.4 million to spend right now and don’t see many great options.

*Am considering doing Bale - a 5.3 or less mid to get Hernandez in for Yak (for no hit) or BAE-Caulker this week, then Bale – Gower and Yak – Rooney next week for 4 point hit (but lose 2 Spurs players before DGW)

    *Am looking for alternatives.

Jesus. You wildcard left? get rid of l young, mcauley...your entire back line apart from evans and vorm maybe?

Keep midfield..its weel good. Although a trade in Sinclair maybe after QPR is an option. Switch for Seb Larsson if he keeps up form.

Swap Aguero for Rooney, and Welbeck for Sturridge. Although you need cash for the defense so maybe take a hit on Sturridge and get someone cheap..gives you two quality strikers still.

Do you have any cash? I would lose Dyer.

          Then I would suggest Evra/Dyer to Evans/Larsson

How long is Bale out for? Worth bringing in a replacement till then, if long?

Is Walters still ahead of Etherington for pens? If not, Etherington looks like a great prospect all of a sudden given his form, fixtures and price!
