With the Paddy Paddy Cup V sewn up last week by sleepingmaster, we now turn our attention to it’s sister competition, the Members Paddy Power Cup II. Over 900 Fantasy Football Scout members signed up, with hopes of qualifying for the first round of 512. As expected, the standard was very high, and the qualifying mark was set at a lofty 82 points for Gameweek 24.

That put 494 in the hat for round one, and forced 41 fantasy managers to rely on their overall rank to earn one of the remaining 17 spots. The list of all qualifiers can be viewed right here.

On to the first round draw then, which has been made and can be viewed right here. All 256 fixtures will be played over the upcoming Gameweek 25, and the result will follow shortly afterwards.

Our reigning champ, Kippax Kikkers (formerly Kippax Kolggers), is up against leekota, as he looks to defend his title.

Elsewhere, plenty of Scouts (not me) are in the mix – Mark takes on Shimmy, G-G-Granville has drawn Shehzu, Andy will square up to Lucas that is all, it’s Big Dunc Vs. ChrisHighwind, Pure Olivia is up against djembe, Anorak‘s been paired with Primprong, and Jonty will play johnd.

The prize? Well, once again sponsors Paddy Power are supplying the competition with some great prizes and we’re supplementing these with Amazon Vouchers. The prizes break down as follows:

  • Winner – £150 worth of free bets. £50 Amazon Voucher
  • Runner-up – £75 worth of free bets. £30 Amazon Voucher
  • 3rd Place – £50 worth of free bets. £20 Amazon Voucher

Remember, to claim a prize you will need a Paddy Power account and be aged 18 and over to be eligible. Prizes are also subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions.

If you’ve yet to register a Paddy Power account, then you can sign up via this site and get a free £20 when you register and bet £10.

Finally, if you set up an account and are going to bet with Paddy Power, always gamble responsibly.

What's the maximum price rise a FPL player can achieve one GW?? Is it 0.3 or 0.4??

Considering getting Ba for next GW, with scheduled transfers i'll be left with 0.3 in the bank, but would want to make my transfers near the deadline (Feb 25)..

    Thanks!!

Decision has to be made now, is it Rangel or Cahill I bring in? I don't have any Chelsea cover at the mom....

    Vorm
    Richards, Senderos, Evans
    Silva, Sess, Dempsey, Bale
    RVP, Aguero, Ba

    Lindegaard, McClean, Raylor, Huth

    Krul, Mignolet
    Kompany, Evans, Simpson, Kelly, Huth
    Silva, Dempsey, Bale, Valencia, McClean
    Aguero, RVP, Ba

    Got 2 FT’s

Thinking of doing Huth > Caulker (This will give me £s to upgrade Aguero to Rooney when Utds fixture’s improve)

Not sure if I should do Valencia to Siggy or keep the other FT?

Is captain choice a complete lottery or is there something i can do to increase my dismal return?

Actual Captain choice points so far = 270 🙁
Crystal ball choice (top scoring player in my team) = 608!!!

I look at fixtures and form. I am prone to the ocassional knee jerk (chosing Aguero over RVP last week). I know that there will always be someone who pops up with an unexpected score but less than 50% of potential seems low to me

I got rid of Evans this week and i'm not impressesed with QPR defensively. Evans might rise 0.1 before i get him back but I can handle it. Cant see many points in the next 3 weeks for clean sheets. Sess is a doubt for this weekend, Ba can score easily I reckon.
As for Wilko...I think he's back in the frame and has 2 tasty home games very soon.

0.3 is the maximum a player can rise in a GW. What if every player in the game transferred in Ba in the same week. Obviously his price would rise by 0.3m but what about the following weeks with 100% ownership. Would there be a consistent 0.3 rise each GW up to a point or could it not increase any further than the initial 0.3?

Er.. I've not understood the question exactly, if what I'm thinking is that you're asking if everyone got ba in in one week, there would be a 0.3 price increase after which his ownership will go more than 100 % but not rise. In the following GW his price would rise immediately and his NTI would revert back to 0, now since everyone has got him in, his NTI would remain 0 so no more increase IMO

Yeah that makes perfect sense. Once a player has 100% ownership the price cannot rise.

+1. He would rise 0.4 total & take ages
or 10% ownership to drop 0.1.

    Re: Captain decisions -

Highest GW scores for the last 24 Gameweeks..

    GW1 – Aguero H – 15
    GW2 – Jarvis H -14
    GW3 – Young H -23
    GW4 -- Aguero H – Rooney A -17
    GW5 – Larsson H - 14
    GW6 - Ba H - 17
    GW7 – Andy Johnson H -20
    GW8 – Pilkington H - 15
    GW9 – Drenthe A - 16
    GW10 – Rvp A - 19
    GW11 – Klasnic H – 19
    GW12 -- Richards H -14
    GW13 -- Mata H -17
    GW14 – Yakubu H - 21
    GW15 -- Nani H -18
    GW16 – Dempsey H – 13 / Skrtel A - 15
    GW17 – Giggs A - 17
    GW18 – Berbatov H - 17
    GW19 – Bellamy H - 13
    GW20 – BAE H+H – 24 / Yaya Toure H - 14
    GW21 – Dyer H - 13
    GW22 – Dempsey H -20
    GW23 – Bale H - 15
    GW24 – Rvp H - 23

Only 3 out of 24 Gameweeks when the highest scorer has been away from home..
So im going for a Home Player this week for CAPTAIN..
    Going with the percentages..
So its Bale Home to Newcastle or Fulham home to Stoke for me..

But he has 7 scores between 10-15.. 6 scores between 5-9 and he never scores two 2s in a row(Apart from GW1-2)..
That makes him a safe captains choice most of the times..

Quite the opposite I think. A huge weight has been lifted of Arry and he can concentrate on the football. And the players will get a lift from him being there with no court case negativity looming.

The court case has been looming for years and Spurs are third, so it can't have had much of an effect on the players. I think the seemingly imminent departure of the entire management team would be more unsettling.

Lawro is as bad a predictor as you can find.

This season he has got 23 Perfect Scores, 91 Correct Results, 126 Wrong.

So basically he has more incorrect than correct.

I'd say that your defence isn't setup for this GW. Some Swansea cover would be preferable to santon, Enrique, Evans and BAE, all of whom are very likely to concede. Time for a transfer

            Current team

            Vorm (Sorensen)

            Kompany/Senderos/Taiwo (Evans/Simpson)

            Bale/Valencia/Dempsey(c)/Sessegnon/Sinclair

            RVP/Ba (Morison)

Worth transferring (got £2-3m stashed away) anyone here or holding fire. My only thoughts are either Saucisson (if injured) -> Die Hard or Morison -> Aiyegbeni. The latter more as a concern that Morison might not get the game time I need for my reserve player though I might have a selection problem this week if I make the transfer.

While I’m at it. Any improvement on the team selection and captain choice. For what it’s worth, I’m thinking RVP as VC.

Well I reckon he's in now that Terrys been ruled out again. Very strange decision if AVB plays Luiz after his defensive performance V United - he was all over the place at times.

But as a word of caution, AVB also thought Chelsea were the better team V United so the guy clearly has issues when it comes to judging football.....
