With yesterday’s results overshadowed by the now infamous non-handshake at Old Trafford, the Dugout Discussion opens today for what will hopefully be a controversy-free day of football. Having been displaced at the summit of the Premier League, Manchester City travel to Aston Villa where a draw will see them climb back to the top. Before that we have a Black Country derby to enjoy, as Wolves aim to drag their rivals West Brom in to the relegation scrap, and the Baggies try to increase their breathing space from it. Wolves XI: Hennessey, Foley, Johnson, Bassong, Ward, Doyle, Edwards, O’Hara, Jarvis, Ebanks-Blake, Fletcher.

West Brom XI: Foster, Reid, McAuley, Olsson, Ridgewell, Odemwingie, Morrison, Scharner, Mulumbu, Thomas, Fortune.

Mick McCarthy names an attacking side which features a trio of strikers in Sylvan Ebanks-Blake, Kevin Doyle and Steven Fletcher. For the visitor’s, Liam Ridgewell makes his debut for West Brom at the expense of Nicky Shorey, and Paul Scharner starts ahead of Graeme Dorrans.

        Just keep Kun for the next 2 and then assess again. Blackburn and Bolton at home whereas Rooney is away to Norwich and then Spurs

          Does this even matter with Rooney though? If you look at his scores, his average is actually better against top six clubs than in other games.

            Yeah it doesn't. But the point is, given the two players' fixture's you'd surely rather have Aguero's than waste a transfer and get Rooney

              No i agree with that, and is my plan too, i was just bored earlier and looking at players history. Interestingly Silva also has a better average against top six clubs than in other games. Aguero on the other hand, like RVP, seems to show much more potential against the 'lower' clubs.

    Ah well Richards, is keeping a clean sheet, then saw the ball had been kicked back and big K was on, but that Zabaleta was at right back.

    This week is going to be bad then! Glad I saved transfers so I have 2 left for next time.

    Villa's first effort of the game and it's a header from Richard Dunne easily saved by Joe Hart. Dunne, by the way, is one of the top scorers in the history of the Premier League against Manchester City with seven goals. Six of those were own goals when he played for the club, but that's neither here nor there

    Anybody actually has data for how the captain poll has done it? I mean blanks, ppg and difference from the top scorer that GW. I would do the analyzes by myself but I don't have a data who was top of captaincy poll ever week. Anybody?

    mancini is an awful manager. not being bitter about being an owner but how he can rotate richards is beyond me when they lack so much creativity his surging runs are so useful
    and the fact that he spent so much money and are one of the worst teams in the league to watch says it all

      Mancini doesn't like him so it wont happen. They'll probably get rid of Tevez and sign Cavani although not sure if they can bring in another player on massive wages with the UEFA FFP rules in effect.
