With yesterday’s results overshadowed by the now infamous non-handshake at Old Trafford, the Dugout Discussion opens today for what will hopefully be a controversy-free day of football. Having been displaced at the summit of the Premier League, Manchester City travel to Aston Villa where a draw will see them climb back to the top. Before that we have a Black Country derby to enjoy, as Wolves aim to drag their rivals West Brom in to the relegation scrap, and the Baggies try to increase their breathing space from it. Wolves XI: Hennessey, Foley, Johnson, Bassong, Ward, Doyle, Edwards, O’Hara, Jarvis, Ebanks-Blake, Fletcher.

West Brom XI: Foster, Reid, McAuley, Olsson, Ridgewell, Odemwingie, Morrison, Scharner, Mulumbu, Thomas, Fortune.

Mick McCarthy names an attacking side which features a trio of strikers in Sylvan Ebanks-Blake, Kevin Doyle and Steven Fletcher. For the visitor’s, Liam Ridgewell makes his debut for West Brom at the expense of Nicky Shorey, and Paul Scharner starts ahead of Graeme Dorrans.

      Shawcross and Graham will surely get something 1 or 2 each

      BAE might get 1, Dempsey might get 1

      Otherwise, Bosingwa, Sinclair, Surman, RVP, Bale, Sigurdsson and Caulker are very very unlikely

    Short run for me in the members cup. Opponent with Adebayor, Lescott and McClean. And me with Richards friggin' coming of the bench in the 90th minute. Shit round.

    Ok. This run of form does not warrant 3 City players. The only question now is who to get rid of...

    Kompany: I am almost certain to keep. The man is immense.

    Silva: Consistent in theory, but has 1 goal and 4 assists in the last 10 weeks

    Aguero: only flourishes at home, but thank god they have bolton and blackburn at home in the next 2 weeks

    What do you guys reckon? Keep all three?

      Hard to get rid of any of the three considering their two upcoming fixtures. I'm keeping both Silva and Aguero, and also thinking of getting in Kompany.
      After the Bolton match I will do Aguero -> Rooney though. 😉

        walters v swansea H - on pens and home form is great
        moses v villa H - villa look awful and moses is OOP
        dempsey v qpr A - could maybe get a goal but fulham away form is one of worst in the league and everyone has dempsey. im behind and would need to take a risk

    My first cup adventure in 1,5 seasons lasted just the one gameweek. Absolutely gutted. Might have gone through if I had lucked out and got Shawcross on, but Richards coming on in overtime ruined it.
