With template midfields and forward lines now commonplace, recent goals from Benoit Assou-Ekotto and Joleon Lescott demonstrated the value of points from our defenders as a method of boosting Fantasy ranks.

In this latest article for Members, we use Opta data and our own ICT Threat scores to examine the defenders who have presented the most potent threat so far, whilst discussing any worthy options who are potentially due improved returns before the season is out.

    Do you think Wenger can ever get Arsenal back to how they were a few years ago in the Henry and season long undefeated era?

    Same manager; I assume similar funds.. but Arsenal would have got a draw against this side a few seasons ago.

      Wenger is reluctant to buy ready made replacements. He prefers to buy young players with potential. Problem is when these young players become good, some of them leave to join other teams. So its difficult to build a team.

      Wenger has, arguably, been poor in the transfer market. Vermaelen is about the only reasonably successful signing in the last 5 years that I can think of. & he's been injured for alot of the time.
