We’ve got seven games to pour over today, starting with a trip to Anfield where Arsenal and the newly-crowned Carling Cup Champions Liverpool lock horns. After that there are six 3pm games, including an opportunity for the league leaders Man City to once again open up a five-point gap at the top. The Dugout Discussion opens it’s doors for what promises to be another action-packed day of Premier League football.

The team news for our opener are in, and here is how they line-up…

Liverpool XI: Reina, Kelly, Skrtel, Carragher, Jose Enrique, Spearing, Kuyt, Henderson, Adam, Downing, Suarez.

Arsenal XI: Szczesny, Sagna, Koscielny, Vermaelen, Gibbs, Arteta, Song, Walcott, Rosicky, Benayoun, van Persie.

The home side are without their captain Steven Gerrard after he suffered a hamstring injury whilst on International duty with England. Also missing out through injury is Daniel Agger, which gives Jamie Carragher an opportunity to start. Andy Carroll is on the bench along with Craig Bellamy, which leave Luis Suarez to lead the line up front alone.

In contrast, the visitors have their talismanic captain Robin van Persie available to play, after it was feared he could miss the clash through similar circumstances to his opposite number. Arsene Wenger keeps faith with Yossi Benayoun and Tomas Rosicky after their fantastic win against fierce rivals Spurs last week. That means there is no place for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain once more.

After the dust has settled at Anfield, we’ve got six more games to come: Blackburn Vs. Aston Villa, Man City Vs. Bolton, QPR Vs. Everton, Stoke Vs. Norwich, West Brom Vs. Chelsea and Wigan Vs. Swansea.

So settle down and enter the Dugout Discussion chatroom, which can be accessed right here.

Makes me laugh that a fair number of people got rid of RvP and a few that had him even considered benching.

    He's just too good.

I remember arguing with one certain poster (I won't name names) that was saying Arsenal are gone and RVP will be crap, plus they have Spurs and Liverpool up next.

Crazy! RVP has already proved he can score against pretty much anyone, he's typically instrumental and it seems destiny that when a ball goes to his left foot, it's set for the back of the goal.

The rest of Arsenal's fixtures look pretty great too, a few tough ones with Everton being great defensively at home, but you can never count on RVP to not score.

    Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!?!?!?!

Take Bale out for Kuyt. Looks great for pen- misses. On -1pt. Then hits the post. How come what on the surface really seems insightful and will pay off then is in fact the most frustrating opposite! grrrrrrrrr

I hate to say it, but I don't think Kuyt looks good on the surface. He is expensive, can't guarantee he'll start and has scored what 2-3 goals this season?

At least no liverpool clean sheet eases the fact i brought GJ in this week thinking he had an "international friendly" injury. Big big shame that Carragher still plays for liverpool though for anyone getting liverpool DGW defenders.

Surely coates or Kelly would be better to play than Carragher?

If you've been watching this match you'll understand that not having Liverpool attacking coverage for DGW is nothing to lose sleep over. Same for Everton.

Better options for the other striker would be Odemwingie, Adebayor, Yakubu, Pogrebnyak in my opinion

Everybody gets one free transfer, not putting Suarez in next week is utterly stupid.

At the end of the day he has 180 minutes to score points whereas other strikers (apart from Everton but their rubbish) only have 90.

Yes I'm pointing out the blindingly obvious but it gets my goat when people slag off DGW transfers!!

Ba (7.7m) --> Suarez (9.2m), but am 0.2 off that transfer, so need to remove Sessegnon and go for a 6.8m midfielder. I have 2 free transfers and Giggs looks good with 2 good games in hand if he plays.

        Aguero FTW.

I've got Aguero in my team but i dont think he'll start. Silva will return a maximum of 6 anyway, so i rather take a punt on Micah. I believe in the law of averages, and Micah(C) failed the last time...

I almost did this, but thought Silva had a better chance for more points. So i captained Rooney.

There are definitely players who have both RvP, Sagna, Szczesny in addition to a few Liverpool players as well.

Your reasons for thinking it was almost a genius move suggest you haven't been paying much attention to Suarez this season.
