Time for a taste of some real money? Tired of nipping away at the heels of the big odds with that cheeky quid or two? Well this week on the Flutter with Paddy Power, we’ve organised something to get your teeth into, and we’re confident enough to double up on it.
It’s been bandied around for weeks now that the Premier League title is there for Manchester City to lose. The winning mentality that kept Man United garnished with silverware has slipped to their neighbours in blue, as has the talent of picking up points on an off-day. City have seemingly shrugged off the winter blues and have looked irresistible in their last three and in Fantasy terms, we’re lapping it up.
Talent spills off the pitch and onto the bench at the Etihad, but a trio of world class players are the key to their successes. At the back, skipper Vincent Kompany has marshalled his defensive line with a steely confidence, with 12 clean-sheets a clear testament to this. In the middle of the park, David Silva has been a creative inspiration to his fellow team-mates. Always available for a pass and on the look out for cutting runs and attacking movement, Silva has bagged 14 assists and more than a couple of goals himself. Benefiting from Silva’s abundance of flair, Sergio Aguero has instantly established himself as a Premier League force with 16 goals and counting.
You don’t need me to tell you all this, as bar a few differentials, you all have a sky blue seam running through you Fantasy squad. And if you don’t, you’re probably regretting it right now, as Bolton make their way to the Etihad this weekend.
Now to the bet. Paddy are offering 4/1 for Man city to win with a cleanie, Aguero to score and Silva to get an assist.
Let’s break the bet down a little. Aguero has scored five goals in his last five league games – failing to score in just one of those five. Silva has notched FPL assists in three of his last four matches at the Etihad and has five assists in his last seven games. In terms of clean sheets meanwhile, City have kept shut-outs in five of their last six home matches – only failing to keep a clean sheet at home to Spurs. Those components align nicely with the Trotters paying visit.
Paddy’s special accumulator would be hard to beat picking up odds from multiple companies, and especially tough trying to find anyone offering an assist market. Nonetheless, I’d price this up at somewhere between 13/5 and 11/4 just going off the accumulated odds. That’s a decent point over, and therefore a bet worth taking. With change from Augero’s goal and win double last week, we’re breaking the bank and putting up £20 on this one and readying our wallet for the shape of a ton in crisp notes.
Elsewhere amongst Paddy’s specials this week, the Peter Odemwingie bet also looks tempting. The Nigerian and his Baggies team-mates are flying and with 7/1 on an Odemwingie goal and a West Brom win over Chelsea on offer, this also looks worth a punt with five goals in two games in his locker.
There’s odds 7/2 on Yakubu scoring and Blackburn earning a much-needed three points against Villa, with 9/1 offered on two or more goals for the striker in the match.
Finally, Clint Dempsey is without a goal in three but Paddy are offering 5/2 on the American replicating his heroics with his national side in midweek and scoring in a Fulham win over Wolves.
Money Back Specials
Paddy Power yet again have some nice Money-Back Specials which mean that even if your bets a loser, you can still end up getting your cash back. Starting at Anfield, Paddy are willing to refund all losing first/last goalscorer, correct score and scorecast singles on the match between Liverpool and Arsenal if a penalty is scored in the game.
The same applies to the Spurs vs Man United clash on Sunday. If a spot-kick is scored in that game, Paddy will refund all losing first/last goalscorer, correct score and scorecast singles on the match.
