With the dust finally settled from Gameweek 29, we can now reflect on how our remaining 16 fantasy managers in the Members Paddy Power Cup II came through their fifth round tie, and how they now pair off in the Last 16.

The full list of the 16 results can be viewed right here, which includes defeats for what were the top two-ranked contenders in the competition. Bob Fossil tasted a 52 – 45 defeat at the hands of Fuzzy Dunlop, and Daveclark85 succumbed 58 – 42 to howie_c.

That now makes 1,543rd in the world KevIRL our ‘favourite’ (which almost certainly signals imminent elimination). He’ll face Bend It Like Bennett in the sixth round.

Here are the eight fixtures that make up the Last 16…

1Bend It Like BennettVs.KevIRL
2Sleep TalkVs.mch
3Back to Back BallacksVs.Fuzzy Dunlop
4PablodVs.conor2me
5howie_cVs.rocket science
6petergriffVs.BilboBaggins
7Louie1Vs.followthehearts
8The LordVs.kno

Only two of the remaining Fantasy managers are ranked outside the top 30,000 and the luck of the draw has paired them together. Rank-outsider Padlod sits 100,096th overall, and has pulled out the best draw he could have hoped for in the 36,049th in the world, conor2me.

All fixtures to be played across Gameweek 30. Good luck to all involved!

Did Ba > Yak before the rise last night.

Ba is bang out of form and I don't see him turning it round any time soon.

Blackburn are under more pressure to win games and score goals. Yakubu is an experienced, proven goal scored. He's on pens.

It's maybe a bit of a sideways move in a way but I feel Yakubu offers better value and I plan to use the money to get Utd attacking threat.

I'm starting to look at 8 pointers over here. Pretty risky but could work.

As it stands I'll have to play Richards away to Stoke and Bale away to Chelsea. I think Verm and Walcott could easily make back those 8 points instantly and should definitely outscore Richards and Dempsey (the two to make way) if we look at perhaps a five game span.

    Mental?

It's a coin flip - they could both fill their boots.

I need help choosing my starting 11 this week guys!

I need to pick 2 from Simson, BAE, Dempsey & McClean.

Hmm, I have to bench one of this midfield:

Bale (away to Chelsea, poss vs a dodgy RB in Bosingwa)
Toure (away to Stoke, poss playing behind the striker in a 4-5-1)
    Siggy (home to Everton)
    Rosicky (home to Villa)
    Surman (home to Wolves).

Tempted to bench Rosicky. But also thinking of transfering Rosicky (out) Valencia (in) so who would you bench then? Surman even though he's vs Wolves?

Sunderland's fixtures aren't too bad and Turner could be a cheeky differential!

Yep, Yaya to Walcott could be the way I go. Was what I had decided yesterday, but then started to look again.
Have the added complication of having my mini league semi final this gwk - and this also leads me to considering Gerrard (my rival has him).
        What would you do?

        Me:

        Reina
        Skrtel, Evans Caulker
Walcott (or Gerrard), Bale, Siggy, Valencia
        Holt Rooney RVP

        Him:

        Mignolet
        Kelly (Pool), O'Shea, Evans
        Gerrard, McClean, Young, Yaya, Sinclair
        Rooney, Suarez

Aye, had him for the last two weeks. There's rotation threat there, but (if he does play) I think he's a good cheap option.

Hmmm. I'm not convinced for FF. I may be wrong as I haven't followed him all that much - but he seems to assist the assist in my mind.

Who should I bench this week among: Bale, McClean and Ba?

McClean. Not a lot of point having Bale and Ba if you're gonna stick them on your bench. Even against the opposition they've got.

REPOST (ended up at the very end of previous post). Thanks to Hay and Hutton for answering.

I have no TOT cover and if I exclude Ade (who is simply not worth having), I cannot decide between Bale and VDV. Heavily leaning to VDV, ’cause he seem to be back, in old form and I am not bound with already having Bale as most of people here.

Sure, will decide after weekend’s game, but what is general consensus here: VDV or Bale (or maybe Ade)?

Really hope Silva kicks off again, would save a whole world of pain and hassle having to sell! Want to keep a City player so might do Silva + Sess/Sinclair > Tony V and Yaya next week with two transfers...we'll see. Or get Aguero but would have to replace Silva with a 5.7 and can't have Siggy so a bit awkward!

    Using my WC:

    Vorm, Begovic
    Verm, Evans, Kelly, Lescott, Simpson
    Siggy, Moses, Valencia, Bale, Sess
    Suarez, Rooney, RVP

As an alternative I could take out Sess and Suarez > Walcott and Ba. Thoughts please?

Good morning, is Ashley Young likely to start and play most of the game against Fulham?

    Thank you, please.

Hello Milkie. Long time no see.

It's tricky. Three players for two positions. Nani. Valencia. Young.

For what it's worth I believe they'll start with Valencia and Young.

Yep, thinking my Silva to Young transfer last week was a mistake. I'll bring Valencia in for Young next GW unless I have other more pressing issues, like Demba Ba to ______.

Morning all. Thought I'd give my tuppence worth on the 3rd striker debate. I'm going:

    Rooney - RVP - Aquero

(but I'll need to wait till next week to avoid a hit)

Aguero seems a good shout if he starts to be more dependable.

I'm thinking Rooney and RvP are the only essentials though... after that pick a cheaper player with good fixtures imo.
