Just drew up my provisional DGW plans which will leave me with 2 DGW players in GW35 and 4 in GW36, which will ensure that I have 11 players in GW34, and all this without spending a point...

GW31 - Already brought in Miyaichi for Morrison
    GW32 - Dempsey > Walcott
    GW33 - Save transfer
    GW34 - Simpson & Suarez > Cuellar & Odemwingie
    GW35 - Save transfer
    GW36 - Cuellar & Walcott > Cahill & Mata

Perhaps the biggest punt there is Cuellar, but I'm prepared to take 0/1 points away at Old Trafford to give me 11 players that week and also for the two potentially profitable home games in GW35, then sell him for G.Cahill in GW36...

Also, Odemwingie just because he has a decent fixture in GW34, that might change... and I'm guessing most people here would consider 4 DGWers in GW36 to be not enough... I'm just not convinced that Liverpool or Spurs have any players worth a hit for in their games... Skrtel or BAE possibly, but not keen on selling Verm or Evans when I would want them back in GW37 😕

Any (relevant) feedback would be appreciated...

Already got 3 Swans, and did consider Bendy but in the end I just don't believe in him as much as he does...

Kompany was also a consideration, but I personally think Cuellar will score more points over his 3 games than Kompany will in his two...

Thanks though, and thanks again for your earlier vote of confidence with you already guaranteeing my "easy home win" this week... 😉

Fair enough. Also consider the possibility of playing only 10 players in gw34 to give you Cahill in gw36 for instance.

Yeah that's a good idea, and would allow me to have 5 DGWers in GW36...

But I wonder if having 5 DGWers in GW36 will make up for only having 10 players in GW34?

Far too much emphasis on DGW's and getting players just because they've got one extra game, that you wouldn't get otherwise (remember Srktel/ Enrique?). I would bet that if you ignored these DGWs and got in who you wanted each week, you would score more.

Hi guys! Back from my football exercise! 🙂
This is of course just an early setup, and injuries, form and " must have " players could arrive.

GW 31: Drogba and Skrtel > Cisse and Verm for a 4 pt hit ( already done)
GW 32:Clint Dempsey > Gareth Bale
    GW 33:Save
GW 34:Andrew Surman > James McClean
GW 35:Gareth McAuley > Tim Ream
GW 36: Thomas Vermaelen >John Terry and Walcott> Frank Lampard, possibly Rooney>Ade for a 4 pt hit. This is IF Spurs find back their attacking form.

Will give me this team for GW 36:

    Mignolet(BOL)
    Caulker(WOL)-BAE(BLA,bol)-Terry(QPR,NEW)
    Bale(BLA,bol)-Lampard(QPR,NEW)-Siggy(WOL)-McClean(BOL)
    Adebayor*(BLA,bol)-RVP(sto)-Cisse(wig,che)

    * Could be Rooney, as said will see on Spurs form.

    Any opinions, looking good?

      C) Cisse has effectively one game considering he'll come off/won't start at The Bridge.

I have thought about it but Fulham's record against Chelsea at the Cottage is pretty uninspired and two tough fixtures in Merseyside where they are unlikely to create lots of chances I just think it's a step too far for Captain America.

Why do some people think that not playing 11 in gw 34 so that they can have more doubles in gw 36 gives them an advantage? Every missing player in gw 34 cancels out one of the doubles.. 😕

Exactly. Plus we are competing against people with a WC in GW36 so they will have the upperhand for that week itself. This makes GW34 even more crucial in order to capitalise on teams struggling to field a full side.

I honestly think top priority is to get 11 for GW34 - so many casuals will not get a team together. Getting some decent options for more than just a one week punt in GW36 is secondary - I'm looking at 5 and feel that's plenty.

Very nice, it's landed more kindly for some than others - but that's the nature of the game. I'm currently only going to need a 4 point hit to get 11 for GW34 and nothing after that so I too am satisfied.

So what is the consensus on the optimum amount of DGWers in GW36, taking in to account I'm trying to get there without taking hits...

I can have 4 if I choose to field 11 players in GW34, or I can have 5 if I choose to field only 10 in GW34...

I'm not convinced I need one from every team... Fulham don't entertain me at all, Neither do Liverpool... although I wouldn't mind having Srktel, but not for a hit...

Cisse and Ben Arfa for Newcastle could do alright, but will any of them get 180 mins? Doubtful, although they could do the business with 60 mins against Wigan...

I think Miyaichi is enough for Bolton coverage... and Cahill & Mata from Chelsea is fine for me...

I already have Bale, which is enough attacking coverage for Spurs, so that leaves a Spurs defender... I'm convinced I'm only considering this because of BAE's 24pt haul in his last DGW... which left me feeling bitter...

If anything I'll maybe take a punt on Ben Arfa or Cisse... but any more than 5 DGWers will just rip up the equilibrium of my team, and I'm not sure I'll see the benefit of it...

Thoughts? (other than the fact that I do tend to ramble on a bit, as I already know this. 😉 )

Fielding 11 for GW34 is a priority because most players won't know about the rescheduled fixtures and you stand to gain a lot of points on them. Then I'm taking 4-8 pt hits for GW35 and GW36 as they'll have a good chance of paying off.

I just find this strategy counter intuitive...

You say you'll gain an upper hand by fielding an extra 11th player in GW34, but won't you lose any extra benefit by taking a hit needlessly in the subsequent week when you could have feasibly brought that DGW player in for free in GW34 and benched him?

4 point hits only work if you get attacking or defensive returns... and any gain you get in GW34 with 11 players will be wiped out with each hit you take for GW35 or GW36...

I'm in the same position Zep. Trying to feild 11 in 34 with 4 or 5 for the dgw... 3 of which will be Totty, but my end of season plan is quite extreme and risky as I really have nothing to lose being 25k rank.

I think we'll have very different teams but aiming for the same thing.

It goes without saying, but still it needs to be said... I think the people who will come out on top after this are the people who will have astutely handpicked the best performers and not the people who will needlessly taken 4-8 pt hits to get as much DGW coverage as possible...

I honestly think 4-5 players is enough, 4vets... you will do well to have a solid 5 without any hits...

There's a lot of water under the bridge between now and then so I am trying to be flexible but will not take a hit unless I can see real value in it. I doubt I'll take one. I believe we agree 🙂

Yeah I was agreeing with you... 🙂

Unless they have a WC, I just don't see why people should be clamoring to get 7-8 in to their teams when the fixtures most of them have are average at best...

Swansea's one home game to Wolves could be more profitable for Siggy and Caulker than both of Liverpool, Fulham and Newcastle's fixtures put together...
