I hate double Gameweeks. So often false dawns for Fantasy managers, they can promise so much and deliver so little leaving you frustrated and left to clear the ugly remnants of some hurried squad surgery. Then again – the announcement of the latest slew of doubles may just have left the door ajar for me to close the mini-league gap on Mark. Our host was certainly wriggling uncomfortably in his chair during today’s recording, pondering the damage that the Gameweek 34 blanks could inflict and the surge in points that Gameweeks 35 and 36 could bring.

In truth we hardly had time to digest the full picture before dragging ourselves into the studio. Like giggling schoolgirls at a One Direction concert, we were giddy with excitement and largely incoherent with our speech. Still, in and amongst the usual regulars, you might just find something of value amongst the jibberings.

Nobody's posted one of these in a while so if you want to rest your minds from DGW strains, mind predicting my points for the weekend?

    Hart
    Baines Evans Cahill
    Valencia Dempsey Miyaichi Walcott
    RVP(vc) Rooney(C) Papiss

    Krul, Kelly, McClean, Caulker

Have a WC but confused as when to use it? Get 11 players out in GW34 and then use it for GW35 onwards?

That's my plan. I'm slowly eliminating blank GW34 players over the next 3 weeks, then hitting the doubles hard with the WC.

In the saem situation. I currently only need 3 transfers to make my team have 11 DG34 players so I won't need it before then. I'll probably do it for GW35 but with GW36 lingering in my mind when I'm filling the last few slots

Unless someone can convince me why Dempsey's performances in a double game week are anything other than a statistical fluke, I'm sticking with plan A to dump him after Norwich.

Fulham, lest we forget, will be playing two games away from home against two of the most frugal defences in the league, having scored just 8 games away from home all season with CHE beforehand.

Even the next worst scorers away from home (Wolves) have scored 14 away from home.

Sorensen --> Friedel (other keeper was Bogdan who I think will only play GW35)

Understand its risky but I am one of those who will take hits , especially now as I have a bit of ground to make up on minileague. Intention of these 3 is to prepare for future whilst hopefully I will retain the 8 points (I know this is all a matter of maybe, if Cisse/Friedel/Bale dont deliver this week for example). Whilst for GW34 I will remove a few Fulham players (Dempsey and Kelly, dont want them for DGW dont think they will score offensively or defensively) so I can field a full XI for that GW whilst not harming DGW prospects. Bit confusing/risky but in my mind makes sense :$

Hi all i would appreciate your thoughts!!!

Would you take a 4pt hit to change Ba to Jelavic? I have already taken a 4pt hit this week. But i feel my attack is looking rather weak this game week.

    Mignolet Krul
    Evans Skrtel Cahill Kelly Shotton

Has anyone else figured out that, in general, unless you still have a WC, that planning out a transfer strategy based on the blanks / DGW's is futile?

That's my point - it makes no difference. If you have less than 11 in GW34 then it just means you have an equivalent amount of extra players for the DGW. Same number of games in total. The other exception I have just thought of is that there is no point having more than 11 players playing in GW34 if you can help it

There are still 4 weeks until the blank gameweek and 6 until the dgw. Plenty of time to make transfers without incurring too may hits.

To explain...there are two broad options with each transfer (3 actually but only two are relevant):

      1) Non-DGW player > DGW player

Result: you get no game in GW34 and 2 games in the DGW = 2 games in total

      2) DGW player (i.e. GW34 blank player) > Non-DGW player (i.e. GW34 player)

Result: you get 1 game in GW34 and 1 in the DGW = 2 games in total

The only exceptions are (a) if you are bringing in a player that you want to cpt in the DGW or (b) bringing in Bolton players post GW34

The only way to get more games is to take points hits, in which case you need your player to "do something" in the extra game to profit, otherwise you are worse off

What happened to Agbonlahor and his early season form?

Early season Agbon would be decent 3rd striker material seeing as he actually has a game when the "blank plague" strikes in GW34 followed by what would normally be a cracking double in the forgotten DGW of GW35 (SUN BOL).

Even then though his game in GW34 is 'mun'. *sigh* Such a villianous set of circumstances these blanks and doubles have left us with...

I honestly think the loss of Bent has signalled a decline in his form. Agbonlahor is not the kind of striker that tends to produce something on his own - he needs a partner in crime.

I think that it doesn't matter at all, right? You either lose 90 minutes of match time by not having a full 11 or 90 minutes of match time from having one less double gameweek? There's no advantage either way, it just depends which players score the most. So I guess B because there's no 4 point hit.

Good evening gents. Scoutcast yay! Will listen to it a little later at bed time.

Now...all the DGW madness...had a sit down this evening with a good old fashioned pen-and-paper. My initial thoughts are that it is quite, quite important to get 10 or 11 (decent) playing in GW34...so I'm basing my plans around that. I can get a sexy 11 for GW34 (10 at home) for no hit.

Myaichi for 35 DGW (already have him)

..and possibly 5 DGWers for 36 (no hit) or 6 DGWers (4 pt hit)...it's all about quality over quantity in the DGWs imo. My main focus of attention at the moment is GW34 as I think this is the week where we can best utilise our advantage over our more casual ML rivals. With that in mind...here's my (5-3-2 formation, first time ever) team for GW34...look good?

    Szczeny(WIG) (Schwarzer(blank)

Richards(nor), Evans (AV), McAuley QPR), Caulker (BLA), Turner (WOL)

Siggy (BLA), Valencia (AV), Walcott (WIG) (Bale blank), (Myaichi blank)

RVP (WIG), Rooney (AV) (Suarez blank)
