It’s Monday night and champions Manchester United frequent our screens once more – this week away at struggling Blackburn Rovers. The Dugout Discussion opens to see Gameweek 31 wrap up, and the team news is in…

Blackburn XI: Robinson, Lowe, Dann, Grant Hanley, Martin Olsson, Orr, Pedersen, Nzonzi, Marcus Olsson, Hoilett, Yakubu.

Man Utd XI: De Gea, Rafael Da Silva, Evans, Ferdinand, Evra, Carrick, Scholes, Jones, Valencia, Hernandez, Rooney.

Steve Kean makes one change from the side that lost to Bolton, with Bradley Orr coming in for Mauro Formica.

Three changes for the visitors see Ryan Giggs, Ashley Young and Danny Welbeck all miss out to Phil Jones, Paul Scholes and Javier Hernandez.

The Dugout Discussion chatroom is open and can be accessed right here.

    Transfer time.

I've been making up a lot of ground in my mini league lately, but I could be doing so much better.

Thinking of taking an 8 pt hit.

    Out: Santon, Dempsey, Ba
    In: Baines, Ben Arfa, Cisse

    Current team:

    Krul - Mingolet
    JEvans, Cahill, Verm, Caulk, Santon
    Sess, Valenc, Siggy, Bales, Demps
    RVP, Roon, Ba

I guess it's the Dempsey out that is the risk, but I need the money to bring in Baines, and apart from Wigan (H), his fixtures don't look all that appealing.

    Thoughts welcome on any changes.

only the first 2 transfers? is it possible? 8 point hit is too much, Newcastle is facing Swansea away. that is not an easy game.

By first two, do you mean the def & mid?
        Yes that's possible.

I backed off a 4 pt hit last week for Ba -> Cisse, but it would have worked.
Fed up with Ba being forced out wide. I bet he is too.

I'm going Val. While I still see Rooney as scoring more goals over the rest of the season I think the majority of United's goals are being influenced by Val. Very good source of assist points.

I think rooney had a good game, even if he didnt do anything, he still played well. im thinking bonus wise:
    Valencia 3
    Rafael 2
    Evans 1
I cant see young getting one tbh for playing very little time.

        I can field 11 for GW 34.
        Mig
        Caulker/Kompany/Evans/Mcauley
        Valencia/Walcot/Mclean/Sig
        Rooney/RVP

So 34 is sorted, so this would be more of a long term shot.

Not AB or Granville but i think it'll be really close between Valencia and Rafael for the 3. Rafael has excellent defensive stats again, along with his clean sheet which may be worth as much as a goal. Valencia has a shot off target and a yellow.

      My guess:

      Rafael 3
      Valencia 2/3
      Young 1

I had a very big argument on another forum about gun usage and why I think they need to be much more controlled/banned. The number of people that had a go at me over it was shocking, coming from a forum where people think of themselves as forward thinking and the new future. One of them even told me the best remedy to a rustling in the bushes is a 12 gauge shotgun....Glad I live in a country without them.

Think I'm just going to go into 34 with 10 players...would rather have someone extra ready for the next week and the double than waste another transfer getting someone in for one week. This is bearing in mind I'm still yet to offload Zamora.

For 34 I'll have Vorm, Caulker, Komp, Evans, one more DF, Val, McClean, Sig, RVP & Rooney

With Krul, Papiss, Bale, Dempsey & Skrtel ready for the double, and 2 more to bring in.

That feels better now I've typed it out, apologies for rambling to myself.

So in the UCL I needed a win, the other result to go my way, and an 18 point swing in goal difference.

I currently have the first two, and an 8 point swing, it doesn't look like being enough, Europa for me.

I thought at first that the other team was at home in the other tie, which would've given me a 16 point swing with Valencia vs Young BPs to decide it for me, but no 🙁

Through in the FPL Open, but going out of the PP Cup thanks to that HBA assist, otherwise I'd be going through on overall rank I think 🙁
