A pivotal day of Premier League football sees both Manchester clubs involved, as the race for the title heats up. Justifying the “Super Sunday” billing, the Dugout Discussion opens for the opener at Old Trafford, where United are in a prime position to pile the pressure on City. They themselves visit the Emirates later this afternoon, facing an in form Arsenal.

The team sheets for the Manchester United – Queens Park Rangers game are in, and the sides line-up as follows…

Man Utd XI: De Gea, Rafael Da Silva, Ferdinand, Evans, Evra, Valencia, Scholes, Carrick, Young, Rooney, Welbeck.

QPR XI: Kenny, Onuoha, Ferdinand, Hill, Taiwo, Diakite, Derry, Mackie, Taarabt, Buzsaky, Bothroyd.

Two changes for the champions then, with Ashley Young and Danny Welbeck replacing Phil Jones and Javier Hernandez from the side that were victorious at Blackburn.

Somewhat surprisingly, Bobby Zamora is dropped to the substitutes bench for visitors, with Jay Bothroyd replacing him. Meanwhile, Joey Barton isn’t risked, with the midfielder one yellow card away from a two-match suspension.

Follow the action as it unfolds in our Dugout Discussion chatroom, which can be accessed right here.

I was planning Dempsey to Walcott, like a lot of people but perhaps Bale is the man now who I can swap. . . .he did look nailed on for my week 36 fixtures but if he's injured, he's injured. . . .don't see the point in having that much money tied up on the bench.

as a united fan I'm disappointed it was given, we clearly started better and would probably win this match regardless but all we hear now is that United get all decisions which is not the case, ours just gets remembered as they are all highlighted heavily in the media. No one remembers controversial incidents in a mid table clash

Everyone will remember any call that goes United's way. Much like Barcelona, we don't have the quality to win matches so we buy off everyone... In reality, you're bang on, I didn't like it either and it lessens the entire game. If we win the league I can guarantee someone will claim that if this peno wasn't given we wouldn't have won it.

It's much of a muchness - Liverpool have slightly better odds with Paddy Power - 15/8 for a clean sheet as opposed to 2/1 for Chelsea. Cahill has the greater threat so I'd probably plump for him.

I'm keeping him for the double, probably foolish but I'm ignoring PCisse and pretending he doesn't exsist

I will bring Aguero in, as long as he's fit. It would be great to get him at 10.7, he's on 95% but still unlikely to drop ๐Ÿ™

@1Bonz LOL refs waiting on the pitch for Hughes to leave or was it they were waiting for Old Trafford to stand & applaud them off #RefsSuckSAFsCock

Man Utd not made most of this gift as they could kill the title race here by smashing the GD as well as grabbing 8point lead to really boot City in the gonads before they take to pitch!!

the thing with barca i find though is that the decisions that they get are actual fouls but they just go down so easily and theatrically

i think they are taught from young when to go down in certain areas of the pitch to relieve pressure, get a goalscoring chance or get others booked to help them in the game but with all decisions they get i do feel they are fouls

and in the classico i always take their side due to the thuggery madrid show which borders on assult at times from the likes of pepe and marcelo

whereas united just seem to get decisions which are blatantly wrong

It's not something that Barcelona are sat down and taught, that is how Spanish football is played and all of them do it. There are a number of Barcelona players that don't dive ever, in fact, Messi doesn't even fall over when his legs are taken out from under him. So it isn't a tactic specific to Barcelona.

As for this red card decision in the United game, Young dived. Don't agree with it at all. Derry put a hand on him in the box and a lot of players are going to try and milk that, this time it worked. From the ref's position it looked more sinister than it was, yet another argument to bring in a 4th official or replay technology. But I can't say I'm surprised, would Suarez have done differently? I doubt it very much.
