Another piece in the Fantasy Football Scout jigsaw for the new season was restored this evening, with the Set Piece Takers table published and added to the top menu bar.

Andy has rinsed through all the Premier League clubs and added details for all the Penalty, Direct Free Kick and Corner/Indirect Free Kick takers. When it comes to Penalties and Free Kicks, the players are listed according to the current perceived pecking order.

As we get more data from the pre-season matches, we’ll be refreshing the table accordingly. Plus, once the season starts, we’ll be keeping this table up to date to reflect any changes and pecking order shuffles for each team.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

How many double DGW players are you going for? Ive currently got 5 which means I should be ok in GW3 as I can transfer a couple out..BUT...if a couple of my other players arent playing or get injured it means im goosed.

How many do you feel comfortable with?

Probably went through all the penalties each team got and recorded who took it and who was on at the pitch at that time. You can build up a ranking of players that way...

We currently believe that, if Gomez is on the pitch, he takes the pens. Of course, Maloney is predicted to be a more secure starter so he will get them should Gomez fail to make the starting lineup.

Yep that was my take on it too - sounds bang on.

Looking at the lineups I think Maloney is his main rival for gametime. Not sure there's anyone else in the team he replaces on a regular basis.

Just playing around with cheaper rotations than Friedel/Fed. Have Cuellar and Brede. Only uber-cheap one might be Green/Davis but that doesn't fill me with confidence on the Davis side and means I can't get Fabio or Clyne

TT, I know my mid looks poor for GW3, but...

Taarabt - can't find the .5 to upgrade him - I've tried the back of the sofa. Maybe he can nab something at the Etihad.
    Guthrie - benched.
    Lamps to Bale GW2.
Ramires to McLean or Michu GW3.
Pienaar should be a decent shout.

That .5 is indeed the Bale fund. If I was to go Siggy/VDV then a Taarabt upgrade could be possible.

Mins per chance created and mins per attempt at goal both better for the Tev. Obv. dependant on the opposition and the fact Aguero played x4 times as many minutes so his time per involvement will always lengthen given bigger sample...

BUT - it's grist for the mill. Encouraging stat.

          Better mins per touch too.

Its hard to compare them because of the difference in pitch time, but my take home was that he's involved (at the very least) as much as Aguero.

I am slightly nervous at rotation but confident he'll start the season on the pitch. Without Aguero (or even Rooney atm) my team looks pretty solid. If I need to I can accommodate one of the big hitters with 2 moves.

I like the idea of starting with Tevez and Torres and cash in the bank to knee-jerk one of the 2 to Aguero/Rooney.

Yeah. I'm hoping I'm not just rationalising myself into it but I do very much prefer my team without Aguero or Rooney. RVP staying at Arsenal would clinch it. I'd have him and Tevez.

Can I ask what the rest of your team is looking like?

              Currently:

              DDG / Jassk
              Cole / Ivan / Clichy / Fabio / Clyne
              Kagawa / Sigurdsson / Pienaar / Michu / Maloney
              Torres / Tevez / Petric

              £1,5m banked.

Strategy is to downgrade 2 defenders to two rotating mid priced options, and upgrade Petric to Adebayor if he moves (or maybe Torres/Tevez to Rooney/Aguero).

Players will likely change before gw1 but this is my current plan.

For some reason I thought we might have similar looking teams - with the Tevez plan pending...

And we do. Clichy, Fabio, Clyne, Kagawa, Torres, Tevez have all been in my team for a week. And Pienaar and Michu are in and out of it.

Haven't picked my GKs yet. I have Vermaelen and Rafael in defence. Silva and Ramires in midfield (at the moment).

I'm not sure about your plan - sounds a bit too rigid perhaps at this stage. Not sure I'd want a plan that involved.

I'm just using the teamsheet as a shortlist of players I'm interested in at this stage. Everything will go out the window if RVP stays at Arsenal for example. So much will change next few weeks.

                Nice team though!
