There’s a couple of top-flight encounters to entertain us this afternoon. QPR prepare for the visit of Reading, with both sides looking for their first win of the season, before Liverpool play host to Newcastle at 4pm. As always, our Dugout Discussion Chatroom is open and available ahead of the early Loftus Road showdown:

The team news from Loftus Road is in and is as follows:

QPR Starting XI: Cesar; Bosingwa, Ferdinand, Nelsen, Traore; Mackie, Diakite, Granero, Taarabt; Hoilett; Cisse

Mark Hughes makes three alterations from the side that narrowly lost 1-0 at Arsenal last weekend. Stephane Mbia drops out through suspension, with Anton Ferdinand coming in at centre-half. Jamie Mackie is preferred to Shaun Wright-Phillips on the right flank and Djibril Cisse replaces Bobby Zamora as the lone forward.

Reading Starting XI: McCarthy; Gunter, Gorkss, Morrison, Shorey; McCleary, Leigertwood, Tabb McCleary, McAnuff; Hunt, Roberts

Brian McDermott makes four changes from the side that drew 3-3 at home with Fulham last time round. In defence, Chris Gunter replaces Shaun Cummings at right-back, while Sean Morrison comes in at centre-half, with Adrian Mariappa dropping out. Elsewhere, Garath McCleary is preferred to Jimmy Kebe on the right flank and Pavel Pogrebnyak is omitted from the first XI for the first time this term, with Noel Hunt partnering Jason Robert in a front two.

    I could have both Rooney + RVP, but it would mean getting rid of Baines for, most likely, Cameron (good old solid Stoke 🙂 )and my team still wouldn't look to bad

    It would NOT cost me anything to get that team for next GW but would be getting rid of Baines + Aguero also. THe rest like Fed, Kaca and maybe cuellar can be sorted out later. Is it worth it?

      I "like" your creative thinking...on the other hand maybe it's your creative thinking that's given you such a bad score...if you want a high finish your real opponents are the people on this site...if you have a different team from them and your players do well you'll obviously be happy...if your "oh so clever, oh so different team" does badly hundreds of thousands of players will overtake you

      decide who are your bad players...swop them for good players

      as part of your thinking decide who you can bench next week so you can try to avoid point hits

      this may seem a conservative way to play and it is conservative but it's a hell of a lot better than what you've been doing so far

    What are the owners of Aguero doing?
    Could be a nice simple swap to Tevez although they didn't look good in front of goal yesterday, other options could be Fletcher but again not looking promising in front of goal although there is the DGW coming uo soon. I'm also liking the look of Ba and Jelavic but with Ba going off again today makes me wonder if he will make next week. Any other ideas and solutions?

        want to get rid though. Not keen on Berba's fixtures, already have Lambert. Crouch seems the only reasonable option at the moment. Although I'm thinking of a punt on Grant Holt.
