Anthony Pilkington earns the points for Norwich with a superb headed effort extending his side’s unbeaten run to five. Robin Van Persie fails to score or assist for the first time as a starter for United, with the Canaries resilient defence proving too good for the most prolific attack in the Premier League:

Going Up

Norwich Defence
The Canaries came into this evening’s game having conceded a single goal in their previous four Gameweeks but the visit of United was considered a real test of their resolve. A 1-0 win continued their upturn in resilience as Chris Hughton’s influence starts to have a real effect – they now have five clean sheets this term, three more than this evening’s beaten opponents.

Anthony Pilkington
His first goal of the campaign was enough to produce the points for the hosts. Norwich have not tasted defeat since a 4-1 battering at Chelsea in Gameweek 7 and while they may not score many – netting more than once on a single occasion so far – Hughton’s side concede even less; the opposite of last season’s form under former boss Paul Lambert.

Going Down

United Defence
David De Gea was given the day off after a trip to the dentist caused problems but Anders Lindegaard could do little about Pilkington’s excellent headed winner. United have now conceded first in eight of their 12 matches and for once, their attack was unable to bail them out.

United Attack
Tonsillitis kept Wayne Rooney out of the reckoning and with Javier Hernandez selected to start, Robin Van Persie dropped a little deeper. Having racked up 29 goals in the previous 10, with at least two goals per game over that run, the visitors were snuffed out for the first time since Gameweek 1. Three favourable fixtures in the next four look set to offer Van Persie a chance to rectify tonight’s blip – this was the first time he has failed to produce a goal or assist when starting a league game for United.

I've seen all our games except today and believe me, we will not be OK.

We have no heart, no leadership and several players who really could not be arsed.

Hansen summed us up in his analysis. We were devoid of everything you want in a football team.

It won't change unless there is a massive change. Manager yes, but TF needs to wise up too.

        See prev pages.

Poor manager. Poor transfer policy. TF nice guy but clueless as a club owner and Kia Joorabchian saw him coming a mile off.

Several players clearly not interested in playing for QPR and only incentive is ridiculous wages paid to bribe them to come in the first place. Playing for QPR should be a step up for players not a last stop to top up their pension funds before they retire.

Lack of leadership on the pitch, p*ss poor defence that was not addressed in off season despite every QPR fan on this planet knowing that was the weakest link. Instead bought in an influx of midfielders that really were surplus to requirement.

Instead of getting some hungry young players willing to run through walls for the privilege of playing in the Prem we bought footballing mercenaries and injury prone has-beens. None of which any good when you are fighting for your Premier League lives.

          Noice!

I've had RVP and Tevez since the start (maybe GW2 for RVP) with the plan to (c) the home player, but got seduced by RVP's sexiness 🙁

I couldn't, he's burned me quite a few times already this season. Got lucky this time at least!

Classic captaincy debate; I think about it constantly for two days and then with five minutes I just stick it on one. Happened to be Suarez.

reply lost on the previous page regarding the Suarez Stamp today mentioned in Martinez's post match interview

Yes it was a poor challenge on Jones I don’t think the FA will do anything about it though Martinez did complain about it being missed in the interview after the match. When I saw it though I just thought it was a poor challenge and probably deserved a yellow (doubt the FA will do anything about it).

It was not as the original poster thought as it wasn't related to Watsons leg break.

When you see the replay it is a clear stamp. It could have been a red card if the referee had seen it

that's the quote from Martinez and this is the link to the BBC story:

I like Ba and his fixture this week is fantastic!

But Suarez is red hot and will rise another .3 this week. I am contemplating a hit and losing Baines and Ba to make it happen as it’s long term.

    Worth it? Who knows…

Frustrating I know we pay good money to watch these guys earning a fortune and we love our hometowns. We want our players to go out there and give there GUTS for our pride. Sometimes it feels they just go through the motions and it's sickening.......Thats why I loved the Norwich game today _they ran there fooking legs off and it felt like it mattered to them. I want more of that from Saints. GL things can change I guess ...like a cat in a corner fighting for life!

It’s going to have to be an 8 point hit to get RVP in.

Valencia, Jelavic, Vermaelen, Baines to Silva, RVP, Sagna and Shawcross.

    Sound worth it?
