As Man United approach an eye-catching run of games which could potentially see Sir Alex Ferguson’s side rack up the Fantasy returns, Wayne Rooney has staked a strong claim for consideration after bagging a brace for the second Gameweek in succession. Rooney’s stock has suffered a significant drop this season due to the arrival of Robin Van Persie but as the campaign unfolds, he’s starting to look a real differential, with many Fantasy managers even considering both forwards for a run of games which sees the Red Devils welcome Sunderland, Newcastle and West Brom to Old Trafford, in addition to trips to Swansea and Wigan in the next five:

Is a double up on Tottenham with Bale and Defoe a little excessive lads? I've pencilled Fletcher > Defoe in for next week. Thoughts?

i'm sure the FPL system is and sentient being with artificial intelligence. i am convinced it changes the player values every second just to piss me off.

I heard a rumour that FPL started out with a basic neural network embedded into it. The simple instruction set enabled it to slowly learn and evolve at a speed far greater to natural evolution. Once it learned enough information, it started to become self aware. It's children have now spread across the country and has been subtly affecting the minds of all Premiership Footballers. When we refer to the FPL Gods, we are referring the FPL hive intelligence. It is watching. It is always watching.

With respect to the author I think the most crucial information regarding Rooney's goal threat wasn't mentioned.

Anyone who watches Utd's every game will tell you; nothing has more influence on Rooney's fantasy points, than when Valencia is on the right wing.

My thoughts on Rooney v RVP having owned both earlier in the season -

    - RVP more consistent, it's 2s or double figures with Rooney.
    - Rooney better value IMO if kept long term.
    - Hence it's feasible to choose Rooney over RVP BUT NOT as an automatic captain choice. RVP is, but minimizes your downside in captaincy choices, but costs you upside. It's up to you which you'd rather take.

    Regarding doubling up -

    - the real question is what Rooney's competition for the 2nd striker spot is.
    - Those who could outperform him are Suarez, Ba, possibly Torres, Berbatov if he returns to #9.
    - Those who probably can't are Tevez, Aguero, Giroud, Jelavic, etc.
    - I think that's enough competition to stay away from Rooney unless you are getting them in as third strikers! If I don't go for my 4 at the back plan I will be tempted.

As someone points out below he is helped by Valencia playing (service from the wing is crucial for him). Probably similar trend for young. Since both are available now I'd certainly get him now over RVP.

actually it makes perfect sense, it says 'cultural lessons'. For example, a south american player like Suarez being given English cultural lessons would stop him from using a word acceptable in Uruguay but not acceptable here. It has nothing to do with Race, just how different cultures deal with race.... that's the idea of the lesson

Yeah lucky bugger that Michu. If it wasn't for him scoring, he wouldn't have any goals. 😯

You haven't gotten him in, and are going to bring him in now that his fixtures are drying up? I would put in a player with good fixtures and pressure the leader to take michu out. I think it's a bad move to play a strat and then switch when it's best part is coming up.

    Ba in 17gw
    Berbatov in 18gw
    Sessegnon in 19gw
(or speed it up with -4pts)

    which strikers?
Suarez or Rooney? and play Rooney and RVP?

    6,3 in a bank

    Jaaskelainen -Begovic

Rafael -Nelsen - Cameron - McAuley - Jose Enrique

    Sterling - Fellaini - Sessegnon - Michu - Robson-Kanu

Am I going a little over the top by saying that with that freekick vs City, Van Persie has attained almost-Legend status for us?
