A fortnight ago, we rolled out a Preview Movie of the latest addition to our Members Area – the Key Performance Indicators (KPI) tables. Essentially, these track the frequency of certain key statistics that can help Fantasy managers identify a player’s form – whether it be a turn for the good or worse – over a Gameweek range or season. With this in mind, our first KPI focused members article looks at Robin Van Persie’s first season at United compared to his final year leading the line for Arsenal.

By tracking Van Persie’s frequency of key stats, Fantasy managers can begin to quantify and identify the exact areas of the Dutchman’s game that have altered since his move to Old Trafford last summer as they prepare potential investment for the season ahead.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

And considering his history with injuries, it looks like a re-think might be needed for my Liverpool coverage. Coutinho looks a little overpriced but secure all the same but not sold. Gerrard a viable option still?

Yeah, in my opinion. He finished within the Top 8 (I think) midfielders last season and will always be getting some points. Very consistent yet not as much potential.

Just doesn't excite me getting Gerrard. You're right, consistently performs but how often will he return double figures like Sturridge could. Can't go without Liverpool early but can't see Sturridge being fit in time

Long time player, but new to the site this year. Appreciate all the thoughts, good fodder. quick question for the pros though:

for those of you going with 3 Chelsea DGW players (or 4 with Benteke), how to do you expect to manage the team through the Man U game and bye week? I understand having one pre-programmed move but two (or more)? feels risky to me?

Take Cole vs Zabs. Wouldn't you want a guy that is nailed on with 4 easy starts out of the gate rather than Cole who will have a good first week and then be worthless for a few weeks. Understand doing to chelsea guys (I currenlty have Hazard and Lukaku) with an expecation to sell one (Lukaku) sometime in the first 2 weeks. Are you expecing to use your WC after week 1?

this makes perfect sense to me and similar to what I'm doing with Lukaku, I'm trying to understand the "pro argument" for doing more than that

I'm currently sitting with 4 DGW players with a view of 3 transfers over the first 2 GW's, so a -4 hit. Currently half an eye on WCing GW3. 4 point hit I feel is worth it at this stage.

Pros - you get 4 extra games (obviously great, and particularly the Chelsea games could be huge value)

Cons - i) need to spend 4 points, ii) have at least 2 players in week 2 with poor match-up, iii) will have a big price player not playing in gameweek 3 and iv) have no flexibility if injury or surprise happens with the rest of your squad.

Is that how you are looking at it?

To an extent JR, at this stage I've not many concerns about any Chelsea players playing against Man U but that of course may change. My Villa is Weimann with a big 5 midfield so he rotates with Jrod so is currently on bench for gw2 & 3 if he's not one of the players I transfer out. Weimann scored against Liverpool, ManU & arsenal so I feel he's a realistic punt over 2 games. The value of the Chelsea players covers most scenarios for transfers over the next 2 gw's. I've held onto my WC the last 2 seasons till after the Jan WC and it's not worked particularly well so the plan is use it early and gain early value. Like anything in this game it's only a matter of opinion and I'm usely wrong! 😉

Caveat: I'm in no way a pro 😉

No need at all for a wc imo. I'll probably go in with a defender, Hazard and Lukaku. I have absolutely no problem playing Haz and Lukaku at Old Trafford, I'd actually be pretty hopeful for some attacking returns. I see some people planning on taking hits to get these guys out which seems like nonsense to me.

I'll be getting rid of my defender, probably Cole or Luiz, for a City defender for GW2, and then probably getting rid of Lukaku for a City striker for GW3. No plans set in stone yet though, I'll just see hoe it goes

I wouldn't suggest it, however it is a possibility. Remember, this is like when Liverpool bought Suarez as cover and as a partner for Torres, even though there were rumors of him leaving. This is the same case. He is meant to be a partner for him, and if Sturridge is injured, the Pool need more than Aspas up front to head off the season.

I think i've just about come to terms with the fact that our carier 'bale' has just about left ... i know this because i've done the unthinkable and taken him out of my fantasy team 🙁 it's a sad time.

On the plus side, ive brought in Michu and got +3 to upgrade berbatov to soldado with a bit of change providing soldado is 9.5 as expected.

I hope my boss realises that when Bale does leave, i'll need a month off work to mourn.

    QUICK QUESTION....

Is this site worth the £12.50 fee? Do you actually get a lot of 'decent info' for the money?

I have a money league with friends, top prize being £100...so i don't mind the £12.50 hit.

Finished 2nd in my friends league the last 2 seasons, i need that pissing first posistion for the 100nicker lol

    Hi All!

Would love some feedback on this potential starting team:

    Marshall
    Dawson, Clyne, Coleman
    Hazard, Walcott, Coutinho, Shelvey
    Van Persie, Soldado, Dzeko

I'm a little worried i'm a bit light in midfield...? Not sure that Dzeki will be a starter, but I think it's worth the risk early doors, can soon get him out for a form player.

    Any feedback greatly appreciated!

Never been massively influenced but DGW's, and I don't think any Chelsea striker will start both games. I think Hazard is essential though (as captain) as most people will pick this.

Benteke is tempting, but will probably get him in after Villas blank gameweek.

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah i'm a little worried about Shelvey, may need a bit of tweaking there.

I'm assuming Soldado will be 9.0/9.5.

I think will Caulker going there is slightly less of a threat to Dawson, but will monitor the situation!

Really happy with my team at the moment but I have been changing it pretty often,

      For first GW 3-4-3

      Boruc (ruddy)

Kosc Coleman Azpi (par and chester)

      Hazard Walcott Coutinho Mirallas (pablo)

      Dzeko Lukaku Benteke

Risk possibly with Lukaku and Dzeko not starting but he who dares and all that. Pre season form says they start + manager comments.

Looking for alternative to Kosc with fixtures clashing with Villa, any suggestions at 5.5>?

I'm not sure how bent fits into the Fulham team. There comes a time for every striker, when the pace is not there any more and you need to learn other ways of getting past defenders. Berbatov never had that problem - he was always one of those "smart" forwards. I don't think Bent has made that transition.

    Dempsey, Bale, Ade out
    Morata, Soldado, Chadli in

    Soldado
    Chadli/Siggi/Holtby/Lennon(and maybe defoe sometimes)

      I like the goalkeepers...
Clyne is a bit injured, try Shaw, to secure the investment, same price, goal treat and nailed on
