Were you off to flyer or were you let down by missed penalties, needless bookings and late consolation goals? Or even Romelu Lukaku? Yeah, the less said the better.

Either way, like Lukaku, the season is still young, and there’s plenty of Gameweeks to turn things around. To help you out, this term we’ll be providing you with a regular view of Paddy Power’s odds to add some further data to your decision-making. Here’s the current clean sheet and anytime goalscorer odds for the Gameweek ahead.

Anytime Goalscorer Odds – Gameweek 2

Player Team Odds
Aguero MCY 1.83
Soldado TOT 1.83
Negredo MCY 2.0
van Persie MUN 2.0
Lambert SOT 2.1
Dzeko MCY 2.1
Osvaldo SOT 2.29
Giroud ARS 2.4
Jelavic EVE 2.4
Walters STO 2.4
Benteke AVL 2.4
Kone EVE 2.5
Mirallas EVE 2.5

Monday night’s clash is a headline-maker in waiting and Paddy Power has Robin van Persie at evens to get his name on the scoresheet at anytime and add to his brace of superb strikes at the Liberty.

Chelsea have won just one of their last five visits to Old Trafford and Van Persie has six goals in 18 appearances versus the Blues. Paddy is putting his neck on the line though by giving punters their money back if RVP finds the back of the net against Jose Mourinho’s men.

Manchester City are well backed to find goals at newly promoted Cardiff and striker Sergio Aguero is the most fancied to score anytime over Gameweek two at odds of 5/6 with Paddy Power.

Tottenham’s new £26 million striker, Roberto Soldado, is up there with the Dutchman. He opened his account from the penalty spot last week and bagged himself three bonus points in the process in addition to a pair of Europa League strikes earlier today. At 4/7, Spurs are red-hot favourites to beat Swansea and Soldado is also 5/6 to find the net at anytime in Sunday’s clash.

Despite his penalty miss against Liverpool at Anfield, Stoke’s Jon Walters is surprisingly the top ranked midfielder in our odds listing. Paddy Power has him at 7/5 to score anytime when Ian Holloway’s Palace side head up to the Britannia on Saturday.

Everton’s Kevin Mirallas is ranked next at 6/4 and Theo Walcott is also well backed to take advantage of the Fulham defence at Craven Cottage in the opening match of the weekend.

Clean Sheet Odds – Gameweek 2

Team Odds
Man City 2.1
Everton 2.25
Stoke 2.25
Southampton 2.29
Tottenham 2.29
Liverpool 2.75
Hull 2.87
Newcastle 2.87
Arsenal 3.1
Norwich 3.3

Despite being without crocked skipper Vincent Kompany, City top the clean sheet odds list, and are well fancied by Paddy to escape from Cardiff with a second shut-out of the season. They are 11/10 to keep the newly promoted Bluebirds at bay.

It’s worth noting that Southampton make the top five in our list. The Saints conceded just nine goals in their last ten games at the end of last term, and face a Sunderland team who managed just three shots on target from 21 efforts against Fulham. That’s just a 14% accuracy rate and one of the key reasons why Paddy Power is offering 13/10 on no Sunderland goalscorer this week. A perfect excuse to jump on the Luke Shaw bandwagon.

The Stoke defence is also well fancied to come good – neglected in Gameweek one due to the trip to Anfield. Paddy are offering 5/4 for Mark Hughes’ men to keep a clean sheet at home to Crystal Palace who struggled to make an impact against Spurs last time out.

Robert Huth and Ryan Shawcross, as always, offer a tempting goal threat with odds of 6/1 and 8/1 respectively for an anytime goal.

Sorry guys, having a bad evening. I couldn't stare at the Soldado typo in the captain poll and it seems the only way to fix was to restart it. Apologies - hopefully folk can/will vote again.

I've done Cech to Mignolet tonight. Over the next three gameweeks I intend to do Hazard to Mirallas, Lukaku to Benteke and then Zaha to Lampard leaving me with:

    Mignolet, Davis
    Zabaleta, Chester, Ward, Turner, Mertesacker
    Mirallas, Coutinho, Michu, Lampard, Kim
    Soldado, Sturridge, Benteke

Thoughts? Those transfers leave 0.5 in the bank to hopefully offset any price rises my incoming players might have.

Do we think Dzeko could be the main main at City this year? (ie starting most often)

His goalscoring stats over the last 2 seasons are better than RVP even, in minutes. I think as a regular he would be boss.

Nope, he's too profligate and it will cost them points. You don't often see a supersub turn into a first choice striker. I think Negredo will be first choice eventually.

19.08.13; Pellegrini Praise for Dzeko - “I trust Edin Dzeko, it was a pity he didn’t score because he had a lot of chances and he played very well. We knew with the ball that he’s a very good player but I think he played very well without the ball tonight. He had some important chances and he deserved to score today. I spoke to him when I first arrived and I told him that he will do very well for us. I am sure we are now going to see the Edin Dzeko that City bought from Wolfsburg two years ago.

That last sentence is burning in my head. If we were to see that Dzeko it means he's expecting more than the 15 goals he scored last season, and the 15 goals he scored the season before that... The only way he can be that Dzeko is more minutes.

Pellegrini obviously rates him very highly and with the noises he has been making about him it would be really strange not to play him, If he wasnt going to use him a lot he would have no reason to say what he has.

I don't know if I should downgrade Hazard and upgrade Lukaku to Aguero for a hit or just do Lukaku to Dzeko...

Seriously thinking that way. Or Terry to Zabaleta and Lukaku to Dzeko.

Is it wrong to play toure just because I don't have benteke? For example if I had benteke I would no way play toure then, if that makes sense

pretty sure who you have and how you want them to do genuinely affects what you think will happen, so it's not wrong. Might be wishful thinking though...

I disagree... there is a certain amount of playing averages to this game.

Hoping for five 0.2 rises this week on players I don't want, so if you could go transfer in Whittaker, Cole, Kasami, Welbeck, Shaw and Benteke that'd be great. Thanks!

Kosc is back next weekend, so by taking a hit you would need the replacement to get a CS to break-even.

Play Chester at home to Norwich. That has 0-0 all over it.

Kosc then has a nice little run on an Arsenal team that will have a slew of re-inforcements by then if you belive old Arsene.
