Essential??????????? There isn't such a thing. We have a squad of player with a limited budget and spread the costs as we see fit.
When Bale was a 6m defender playing OOP 3 years ago, he was nearly essential. When Michu was 6.5m last season and scoring braces he was nearly essential. The closest thing right now is Ramsey because of his price, but really he isn't.
Not of those big hitters are essential because you can make those points back using cheaper alternatives

Can you though tekkers and lukaku are not reliable both blanking left , right and centre where as kun and rooney are delivering most if not all weeks.
I think it's a dynamic phenomenan. Kun,Rooney and Suarez all blank for a few weeks and Benteke and Lukaku may go a run.
Will that make Lukaku and Benteke essential and Kun,Suarez and rooney non essential? I think no.

Terms such as 'essential' and 'season keeper' are so misleading.
In the strictest sense of the word, as in you need to own this player to get a good score, I don't think it exists.
In the sense of incredibly good value players that you'd be daft not to own because they free up funds to own heavy hitters, I think there have been a few. Evans, Siggy, and Ramsey earlier in the season when he was around 5.5 (unfortunately disbelief killed that one).
(Evans and Siggy two seasons ago, needless to say)
