Our coverage of the official UEFA Fantasy Champions League game returns this afternoon. With just four teams left in this year’s competition, our options are a little restricted ahead of tonight’s 7.30 pm deadline – nonetheless, we still manage to hand-pick a differential from each of the remaining sides for your consideration:

Filipe Luis – the Atletico left-back sets you back just 5.5 ahead of tonight’s home encounter with Chelsea. With Eden Hazard a major doubt, the visitors are likely to be stunted in attack against a side that have been mean in defence all season; the La Liga leaders have conceded just 22 times in 34 league games this term and with Jose Mourinho bound to keep it tight, Luis – owned by less than 3% of Fantasy managers – looks a real differential worth considering.

Fernando Torres – with Samuel Eto’o set to miss out due to a knee injury, the script looks set for the 9.0-priced Spaniard to lead the line against his former club in tonight’s first-leg. Torres will always have his critics but there’s no doubt he has a tendency to pop up with goals in the matches that matter most – the chance for him to ‘not celebrate’ a winner against his old team could well be the big story of the last four.

Gareth Bale – Real’s summer signing is back in full training after recovering from flu earlier in the week. With Cristiano Ronaldo poised for a return from injury, Carlo Ancelotti will surely target a Bayern backline that struggled against Man United’s pace through the centre in the previous round. Available for 12.0, Bale notched an oustanding winner in last week’s Spanish Cup final triumph over Barcelona and welcomes the defending champions to the Bernabeu in his best form of a superb debut season.

Thomas Muller – handed a brief 17-minute run-out for the weekend win over Braunschwieg, the Bayern forward will be fully refreshed for tomorrow’s trip to Spain. Priced at 11.0, Muller has a habit of netting vital goals in the big games and, with four strikes in his last six Champions League matches, will be confident of finding the net against a Madrid side that has mustered a mere three clean sheets in their 10 matches in this season’s competition.

There's a difference between transition and regression. Unfortunatley Moyes fell under the latter in many peoples eyes - like Hodgson at pool, wrong man for the job.

this will be my team for GW36:

            ....................Speroni
            ........Kosc - Chester - Baines
            Nasri - Ramsey (c) - Eriksen - Mata
            ......Rooney - Podolski - Aguero

            Davis; Ivanovic, Cahill, Noone

for a few hits, or could alternatively save Ward > Koscielny for next week and play Ivan who will be nice and rested with no CL (even though facing Pool)

    JUSTBLAZE, still around?

Still tinkering with my team for the double.
Coleman + Azpil -> Demi + Jones could pay off for a hit.
At least that first one looks good.

I might just let Mirallas rot on my bench.

Luckily caught me before heading off.

Full team? On my mobile so itd be convenient. Would keep Coleman, looks to be in fine form and Everton have every thing to play for. Thinking of Azpi out but hard to say with Chelsea.

Would get rid of Mirallas, unless money is no issue.

        Mannone - Boruc
        Cahill - Coleman - Azpil - Ward - McCartney
        Mirallas - Nasri - Ramsey - Mata - Eriksen
        Rooney - Aguero - Suarez

I was referring to the chat we had earlier about going for Yaya or not.
I see no need to downgrade Mirallas for a hit. Not yet anyway.
The scenario above will be the one without Yaya.

Would actually keep your team and drop one of your midfielders for a cheapie. I would be dropping either Mata/Eriksen depending on how they play. Nasri + Yaya = 4 games vs 1 game of Eriksen. Looking at your team, would use the money for Azpi > Kosc maybe. Off now, best of luck!

Hi all, could really do with some advice at this crucial stage of the season. Chasing a 30 point lead in ML. Team is:

    Mannone / 4m
    Coleman / Terry / Azpi / Dann / Chester
    Gerrard / YaYa / Nasri / Eriksen / Noone
    Aguero / Suarez / Lukaku

    Should I do:

    1. Rooney, Ramsey, Koscielny in for Lukaku, Gerrard, Azpi (-8 & not a penny to spare)

Gives me all the current popular picks & ManU DGW cover but big points hit & means selling players I might regret.

    OR

    2. Wickham, Ramsey in for Lukaku, Noone (-4)

Gives me an exciting differential in Wickham, Sunderland with DGW & everything to play for & I can bin Noone. Also get to keep Gerrard but means no Rooney & I will have a benching dilemma.

    Thanks in advance!

absolutely sickens me when people blame sir alex for united's demise. bbc's football writer phil mcnulty, who i had a lot of time for until now, has said that fergie has to 'share the blame.' it absolutely makes my blood boil to hear such a legend and servant being talked about like this. Im not going to pretend that appointing moyes was a good decision but here's the point: Sir alex ferguson owes manchester united football club NOTHING. 26 years, over 30 trophies, countless memories... we will always be indebted to him, and to him people saying that he jumped ship because he knew he had a bad squad and he didn't care about united's future? then why did he sign wilfried zaha, a player he knew would never play under him? he left because he wanted to live his life, because he owed it to his family. all the real united fans know that we will never be able to thank him enough, because it is the CLUB who owe HIM so so much.

i disagree. after everything he's done i would find it impossible to criticise him for an honest mistake, which lets face it, is only a mistake because moyes himself failed to deliver. easy to look back now, but not many were complaining a year ago. at the time moyes was a decent choice, but it hasn't worked out. i repeat, SAF owes MUFC nothing.

You can disagree, but you're wrong. Moyes was in over his head, and people were questioning that choice and scratching their heads even before he was in charge of his first game. Ferguson takes responsibility for that as he picked him. He shoulders some of the blame. Just because of his history and what he's done at the club in the past doesn't absolve him of any responsibility. It was his mistake to pick Moyes; ergo, it's partly his fault.

its a fact tt he has failed to replace the midfield. He kind of acknowledge it by asking scholes to return from retirement last season.

though putting that aside, it shld not result in such a struggle under moyes. failure to replace players oso shld not be the fault of only the manager. fergie builds utd and ppl shld always rmb that

This isn't a one way street, the club owe him a huge debt but he owes the club too.

Now, onto all your other nonsensical ramblings.

      Point 1)

Did he see a substantial weakness in the CM which was obvious to everyone? Yes he did. Did he fix it? No he did not.

      Point 2)

Did he see Wayne Rooney's ego spiral out of control with his constant threats to leave? Yes he did. Did he fix it? Nearly did until he decided he'd rather win the PL once more and let whoever was next deal with it.

      Point 3)

Did he appoint Moyes personally, knowing the egos involved and the issues in the team? Yes he did.

He knew the issues in the team and he didn't bother fixing them. Instead he relied on his same old boys, Giggsy, Scholes etc. Why is that? Why didn't he use any of the youth team? Why didn't he bring a few of the younger lads through to start there development and let Moyes take over, giving him a platform of young players who are eager to learn?

Alex Ferguson was the saviour of Manchester United, he has accomplished some amazing feats and he will deservedly be remembered for all the great things he's done. But to stick your head in the sand and pretend he didn't leave the team in a bad way or that he somehow is entirely removed from all of this is not what a real United fan would do, it's what a SAF fan would do.

        1. he didn't need to, he won the league comfortably and carrick was one of the players of the season. what he did do was buy young players for the future to ensure united were in good safe hands when he left. he didn't have to go out and buy powell, henriquez, januzaj, zaha etc., he could have gone out and bought the ready-made product, a sneijder or a pirlo, and everyone would have praised him, but they would be retiring in a few years so he did what he thought was the best thing for the club.
        2. he fell out with rooney. thats no secret. but he knew he was a good player and that he would get on with the next manager. problem?
        3. yes he did, and i didn't hear too many complaining at the time. he didn't have to make that decision, he could have run away and had nothing to do with the club, he'd earn it after all.
he left the new manager plenty of time and money and up and coming stars (just you wait for lingard and powell to break into the team), he did everything he could to make sure it was a smooth transition. he didn't have to do that. he didn't owe the club anything. but he did, so it hurts me to hear people criticising him, saying he doesn't care or that he jumped ship.
i respect your opinion, but i do feel strongly about this.

The one thing i have learnt this season is to go with form over potential or fixtures every single time.

Having said that i will only have three double gamesweek players - Aguero, Mannone and Yaya if he is fit

    Poor decision?

depends on who u have as a replacement for the lack of dgw players. I am going with at least 7. good fixtures usually will lead to better form imo

That's one thing i keep telling myself to accept - form over fixtures.

But every time I go to that transfers page, I just want to bring in players based on fixtures! Did so with Lallana GW34, Ramsey turned out well in GW35 thankfully. Not the question is whether to plan for GW37, or live in the now (form).

Living in the now makes me want to bring in Kosc and Podolski for a hit! Good form, peach fixtures defensively and offensively.

    UCL doubts: thnx

1)Mandz or Muller starts? (read already 2 different previews where e/one started but not both together)
2)Villa or RGarcia starts? (read already 2 different previews where e/one started but not both together)

Probably wait until next week and transfer for free, unless you think you'll need that transfer and may end up taking a hit anyway for the DGW

    Grateful for some advice! Team's

    Hart (ugh) Foster
    Coleman Cahill Wardinho Chester Baker
    Mirallas Lallana Ramsey Snodgrass Gerrard
    Suarez Aguero Lukaku

    0.6 banked, 1 FT

    Repost:

    A) Mirallas > sub 5.6, and then Lukaku > Rooney next week (both free)

    B) Lukaku > Podolski for free this week, then either Rooney or Mata in for a hit next week

    C) Lukaku + Cahill > Podolski & Koscielny (-4), Mirallas > Mata next week

    Thoughts appreciated!

    Mannone
    Azpi - Coleman - Ward
    Eriksen - Ramsey - Gerrard - AJ
    Suarez - Aguero - Lukaku

    Davis - Distin - Williamson - Noone

    0 FT, 5.8 ITB

    Anything worth a hit ?
    Lukaku -> Rooney, Distin -> Koscielny ?

Don't think there's anything worth a hit there mate. Distin > Kosc could work, decent next 3 fixtures.

    Mata Rambo silva Barkley/puncheon
    Rooney Aguero Suarez

    Now for -8

    Do I do

    Silva to Erikson
Then probably Erikson to yaya the following week for the DGW

    OR

just to Silva to Yaya now

    Mannone
    Baines Chester Coleman
    Ramsey Nasri Gerrard Eriksen
    Suarez Lukaku Dzeko

    Bench - Dann, Delph, Baker

Have 1 FT this week and £2.5m in bank, but 3 or 4 to potentially get rid of.
Dzeko, Lukaku, Gerrard, Baines (latter 2 to mostly free up some money)

Considering the likes of Podolski, Rooney, Bony, Mata, Man City defence etc. Would appreciate some thoughts!

    Repost.

I have a 53 pt lead over closest rival in mini league and 7k rank overall.
I'd love to break into the top 5k by the end of the season but currently have sturridge. & mirralas in my team.
I just used my ft for the week, silva -> ramsey, is it worth taking a hit to get rid of one of my injured players? If so who?
Mata seems risky but nailed on, eriksen seems sensible but I'm considering salah for punts sake.
Any advise would be appreciated. Cheers

    My team -

    Scjezney / mannone

    Azpi / Baines / shaw / Chester / chambers

    Sterling / Nasri / Ramsey / mutch / mirralas

    Suarez / aguero / sturridge

Hmmm, this tweet, coupled with the imagine in my mind of Silva being carried off on a stretcher after going down straight away clutching his ankle is enough to justify an early transfer to Ramsey then, right?

    https://twitter.com/StuBrennanMEN/status/458594670625714176

On the other hand, I lose max 0.2m waiting as they've both risen/fallen twice
