After three rounds of fixtures in just seven days, there has been a flurry of transfer activity as Fantasy managers look to freshen up their festive squads. We look back at the emerging template team following that trio of Gameweeks and also catch up on the impact on our community leagues. Once again, we showcase the latest Members tables and find out first-hand just how fast Raheem Sterling is.

The Community Articles

Jarvis was crowned Community Champion for Gameweek 14’s Scout Picks, and managed to beat one out of three of the Scouts. Gameweek 13’s champion Beavis was even more successful, becoming the first to beat all three of us.  Meanwhile, Kurren won the honour of representing the community for this weekend’s matches and will be hoping for similar success.

Of Arvination’s trio of attacking punts for Gameweek 14, Kevin Mirallas was his only successful pick. The Puntmaster failed to replicate his Gameweek 13 success – where he tipped Glen Johnson – none of his Gameweek 14 picks paid off, sadly. He’ll be needing a better performance from his Gameweeek 15 trio to ensure his magical soothsaying  reputation remains intact.

Finally, SC Not Pearls Before Swine drafted this excellent round up of the best four mid-price options in midfield.

Please remember to vote in our latest monthly top article competition. To vote for your favourite in November, leave the name of the community article in the replies to this hot topic. The winner of this illustrious honour also receives a £25 voucher.

The Hottest Topics

With so many Gameweeks in such a short space of time, the transfer market has kicked into overdrive and the template team going into Gameweek 13 is likely to be far different from the one to emerge from this weekend’s matches. Earlier in the week, Rodellegabomb was on hand to analyse the latest emerging template among the top 10,000 Fantasy Premier League managers.

Among departing players from the top 10,000 template this week is Diego Costa. His Gameweek 14 suspension persuaded more than a fifth of this elite group to part company with the Chelsea striker. Grannville, though, was left perplexed as to why more haven’t followed them due to Costa’s poor recent form and lack of bonus point potential.

One player that is refusing to budge from the template is Sergio Aguero, who was owned by more than eight out of ten top 10,000 players going into Gameweek 14 and has an overall ownership of more than a third. Shortly after his 16-point haul against Sunderland on Wednesday, we asked whether he is currently essential. Surprisingly, there are still some in the community who believe he isn’t.

A popular strategy is to have a cheap fifth midfielder, who can come in when needed but spends most of the time benched. George Boyd’s midweek goal served a timely reminder of his suitability for this role, but Dino reckons that, given forthcoming festive rotation, a more expensive and better scoring fifth midfielder is a wiser move.

Former template favourite Raheem Sterling is gradually coming back into form, with an assist during the week in Liverpool’s win at Leicester. Scorcher Prime is among those who knows him best, having played against him back in their school days. “He would just always go around me or backpass it for an open goal,” he revealed in the ensuing name dropping discussion.

Finally, Badgevilla sparked one of the week’s longest discussions when he asked fellow FFScout Members to rate their top three reasons for signing up to the extra statistics and tools that Membership offers. Speaking of which…

The Members Tables

Among the key Members tables to catch the eye this week were Jonesb1987’s two-team based collection of statistics looking at the best attacks and best defences on offer this season.

McNulty has also been busy table constructing with a look at the most attacking defenders, midfielders and forwards. These have a global time filter so feel free to tinker to get a season overview and also more recent form.

If you’re a member and are yet to get to grips with the custom statistics tables, you can view this movie for an explanation of how they work. Also, remember to tag them so that people can find the tables with ease.

The Community Leagues

Zep popped by with an update to his Dead Team Challenge, where community members a pick team in Gameweek 1 and leave it untouched for the season. Ahead of Gameweek 14’s matches The Casual was good to his name, topping the league with 739 points and a rank of around 11,000.

Tinkerman just can’t be shifted at the summit of the FFScout moderators and contributors league. Athletico Timbo is the latest to step into his shadow in second place.

Rasping Drive also keeps a firm hold on the Puffinboy Memorial Cup, but has lost his lead in the FFS Old Farts Club to Dan Clark, as well as pole position in the FFS Dead Zone league to Paul Kitchener.

Quick one before I go to bed, would be grateful if you could help.

Tempted by Fabregas to Hazard, looking at the underlying stats. Also considering Azpilicueta in for Bertrand, but I have a couple of decent chances at a clean sheet this week. Do I think Chelsea will keep a clean sheet at St. James' Park? No. What do you think?

    Fabianski,
    Baines, Chambers, Hutton
    Fabregas, Sterling, Sigurdsson, Downing
    Aguero, Costa, Austin

    Gilks, Bertrand, Wisdom, Marney

    1 FT. 3.2 ITB.

Boyd might have a chance at scoring a goal against QPR but then again he is not really a know goalscorer.

Bench either Siggy or Bony if you want variety. Plus West Ham in real good form at home in the last 6 games.

    Looking ahead:
Who will everyone captain next GW?

    A) Aguero (lei)
    B) Hazard/Costa (HUL)

I'm leaning towards B), as my armband will be on Kun this week and every other remaining fixture up until January.

everyone's captaining KUN ? I wanna go Tekkers but i'm afraid the "concequences might be severe".

Just to own I guess. Too much of a risk to avoid Kun, mate.

Having tekkers is probably differential in itself but who knows it may pay off for you

Feel like i want to go hard this week. Maybe its first round cup fever.

    I already have decent squad.
    Foster
    Azpi, naylor, hutton, dummett, yun
    Sanchez, hazard, oscar, siggy, ameobi
    Aguero, rooney, austin
    1ft 2.1 itb
I could easily save but thinking i might do siggy > erik for spurs good fixture run. Spurs at home has been no banker this season so its a risk but i feel could be a good time to differentiate myself with oscar, erik against the siggy, downing template to try and crack the top 1k.

    Thoughts?

I'm doing exactly the same , brought Oscar Midweek and i'm thinking Eriksen next GW for the same reason avoid the template.

Siggy has been very consistent, though. I do think Eriksen is much better pick for the next 3-4 so yes for me.

I'm really surprised there's no caulker love. 5 shots last home match, 4 home games in the next 6 against weak attacking sides. Motd said burnley struggle on crosses

Downing's not so consistent at home and I Think Villa are likely to get a clean sheet, but I'll kick myself if Downing gets a goal or assist as he's likely to grab some bonus points. Tricky tricky. Thanks for the feedback.

    All set?

    Forster
    Clyne Chester Hutton
    Hazard Cesc Siggy Sanchez
    Kun(c) Costa Austin

    4.0 Yun Dummett King
Basically banking on Chelsea attacking and Saints defence.

      Yun instead of Clyne IMO.

Saints up against Rooney, RVP & Mata without the services of Schneiderlin & Cork. Forster is enough.

Sotton against Man Utd. Hmm. They might win the match but I dont think they going to bag a clean sheet.

Maybe bench either Clyne or Forster? Who is your other GK?

Terry got 29 BPS last season with three goals and an assist. So he obviously got BPS in games where chelsea kept a clean sheet, wonder what has changed this season.

Before the season, there was an excellent community article about who benefits from yhe new system. The conclusion was that it benefits FBs over CBs.
Another factor may be that Chelsea is scoring more goals. The bonus points are likely to go to scorers, of course.

The attackers get a lot of bonus. It's either fabs hogging them or costa scoring a lot/willian/oscar/haz

Bonus points for defenders seem to go to teams with weak attacks like newc, wisdom etc

Full backs seemed to get less BAPS last season, but a change in rules, coupled with their attacking potential puts full backs are at an advantage over CD, this season.
But Terry is also a very decent pick.
