With tenner in hand, we go up against Paddy once again this morning. This time round, we turn to Sunderland’s new frontman, Liverpool’s young midfielder and Arsenal’s lone forward to boost our prospects of ending the weekend in profit.

We kick off at the Stadium of Light, where Jermain Defoe is set for his Premier League home debut for Sunderland against Burnley. With Gus Poyet determined to go on the attack and take advantage of some kind fixtures in front of the Wearside faithful, Defoe’s output looks key to the Black Cats’ survival. Paddy are offering 25/1 on Defoe to score two or more and Sunderland to serve up a clean sheet later today – we’ve a feeling he’ll make the difference against the Clarets and hand over our first £3.

Liverpool will be looking to bounce back from their midweek Capital One Cup exit as West Ham make their way to Anfield later today. With the Hammers nursing a number of injury worries, we’re backing the home side to do the business here – Paddy are offering 11/2 on Raheem Sterling to score and the Reds to keep a clean sheet and we’re confident enough to shell out another £3 for the Merseyside match.

Our final stop is at the Emirates, where Arsenal entertain out-of-sorts Villa. The Gunners have their tails up after defeating City on their travels last time around and with their visitors scoring once in the last seven Gameweeks, a win for Arsene Wenger’s side is highly anticipated. With Paddy offering 13/2 on Olivier Giroud to score two or more goals and Arsenal to keep a clean sheet, we’re making this one our bet of the week and part company with our final £4.

Register and Bet £10 And Get £20 Free

If you’re new to Paddy Power, you can take up any of these odds and get yourself a bonus. You can sign up on this site and get a free £20 when you register an account and bet a tenner.

Finally, of course, we should state that all these offers are only available to those aged 18 and over and are subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. Also, if you’re going to bet, always gamble responsibly.

Do not get Walcott, he's back to the bench as soon as the injuries clear up. I'd upgrade Puncheon to Oscar or Cazorla

Thanks for the suggestion Ryan. Walcott was magic for me last year so I have a soft spot for him. There's other options in that price bracket I can switch to if he doesn't work out. I'm trying to limit Chelsea coverage this week. Maybe Walcott will become Oscar next? I'm keeping money in the bank to switch out Giroud to pretty much anyone if necessary. I like Puncheon against that Everton defence.

Yeah I'm just thinking long term for you. Fair enough on the one week punt thing regarding Walcott. I still feel as if Wally isn't a good option though since he has no form to go from. Perhaps Sterling would be more suitable up front against West Ham?

I've tried to pick through to the DGW (I have a second WC in the bag). Most of those players have decent fixtures through to then. West Ham are no pushovers and Liverpool's fixtures aren't pretty soon so my long term thinking is pushing me clear of them. You have made me think hard about Santi though - thanks. I just think Walcott is good enough to force other players out if he hits the ground running. Plus, I need differential.

Are Arsenal still in the market for a RB(heard the name Grosskreutz thrown around lately)? if not then surely Bellerin has to be worth a punt @4.4.. Choosing between Berty and Bellerin OR Fonte and Wollscheid and leaning towards A) . So much potential there!

If it's Kevin Grosskreutz you mean, he plays on either flank in defence, and may deputise in any midfield position, but is primarily a RB. And a way too technically poor player to play constantly on wing.

Close one. If in doubt I tend to go for the midfielder. But given our luck with Boyd this season Innsie, you know that if you put him first sub he'll get 2 and if you put PvA first sub, Boyd will score. Let me know which way you decide so I can go the other way! 😀
