With just two Gameweeks left on the agenda this campaign, our round-up of the Fantasy Football Scout leagues returns this evening. With leagues in Fantasy Premier League (FPL), Ultimate Fantasy Premier League, Sky Sports and the Fantasy iTeam (FiT) Champions League game, there’s plenty to catch up on.

FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE

Simon March, aka “Dufflinksâ€, extended his lead at the summit of the Scout League by a further seven points – courtesy of a 92-point haul – and retained the top spot in the overall rankings. Captain Sergio Aguero delivered exactly half of his Gameweek 36 tally, while David Silva (16), John Terry (nine) and Wes Morgan (six) supplemented the Argentine’s eye-watering output with strong returns.

Kev Gleave – who’s currently ranked fifth in the global standings – moved up one place to second by virtue of a 93-point Gameweek, sporting a very similar team to Simon’s. The above-mentioned quartet of players also delivered the goods for Kev, while Jamie Vardy bolstered his forward line with a five-point haul.

Mariusz Fyrstenberg sits in bronze medal position after carding an impressive 103 points. Double Leicester City defensive coverage (Kasper Schmeichel and Jeffrey Schlupp) paid dividends, as did his decision to bench Raheem Sterling in favour of Jordan Henderson, who notched an assist and two bonus points against Chelsea.

Stuart Shingler is a new arrival in the top five of the Scout League, having accrued a whopping 107 points (ranked 959th for the Gameweek) in the last round of fixtures. Like Mariusz, Stuart profited from his decision to field Schlupp and Schmeichel in defence, alongside the usual suspects in Aguero, Silva and Terry. Tom Cleverley (eight points) proved to be an astute differential, as the much-maligned Villains midfielder netted for the third consecutive match.

Killian Long – who sat third after last Gameweek – is clinging onto the fifth spot after recording a relatively disappointing 79 points. Aside from handing Aguero the captain’s armband and plumping for the popular Foxes pair, there was little else to cheer about for Killian, with every recruit in his four-man midfield (Alexis Sanchez, Eden Hazard, Philippe Coutinho and Santi Cazorla) drawing blanks.

We’re also giving a name-check to AbuBaker Siddiq. The world number two is a member of Fantasy Football Scout, though has yet to join any of our official leagues. Similarly, regular FFS poster “Takamba”, also known as Stuart Greenacre, sits in third in the overall standings.

In the Fantasy Football Scout Members League, Simon March stretched out his lead over Killian Long to 58 points ahead of the double Gameweek. Greg Clarkson elevated his standing with a 99-point haul and now occupies the third berth. A strong collective performance from all involved in the league has boosted it into second place in the FPL’s “Best League†leaderboard, behind the Scout League.

ULTIMATE FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE

Despite tallying seven more points (112) than second-placed Obay Eid (105 points), Damian Lindall’s lead at the top of the UFPL Scout League was cut by a singular point due to his transfer costs. Sean Tobin lost ground on the front two but remains in third place after notching 89 points. To join our UFPL league, use the code 524-87.

SKY SPORTS FANTASY FOOTBALL

Geoff Pryor heads up the Scout League once again with 2351 points, yet a new entry in the top three, Steven Adams (2349 points), rests just two points shy of that total. Katie Burgin (2338 points) slipped to third place and lost 10 points on league-leader Geoff. The winner of our Sky league, which retained top spot in the League of Leagues, wins £1,000.

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

Our official Champions League game this season is the Fantasy iTeam (FiT) offering – a free, reliable and easy-to-use Fantasy football app. With Real Madrid and Juventus still yet to clash horns at the Bernabeu, Adriel Cheung (833 points) now leads the Scout League by a 19-point margin, ahead of second-placed Juan Garcia (814). Gavin Rolston (806) dropped down one place to third. There’s an iPad mini on offer to the winner – the league name is Fantasy Football Scout and the pin is 11155.

My team was billed as "Kolarov plus ten others", but that doesnt stop the fact it did have the most votes.

Which is sending like the best move? Already have three Arsenal. Each of the following would give me three Sunderland. Rivals have dropped Kane. It's either four at the back or play Gomez over Hazard?

    Thoughts?

    Panti (Schmeichal)
    PvA, Skrtel, Kos, Bertrand (Dawson)
    Sanchez Ozil Coutinho (Hazard, Cambiasso)
    Kun Kane Benteke

    1FT, 0.9ITB

A: Kane to Defoe, Bertrand to Terry
B: Cambiasso to Gomez (Bench Hazard)

Can you not do Kane to Defoe and play Hazard? No need to take a hit for Terry.

Yeah absolutely. I was thinking Terry may get more than an off the bench or on the bench Hazard.

Well I did Boyd to Gomez last week but then I didnt have Kane to get rid of.

Umm well I don’t HAVE to get rid of him. Just debating it. He does have Hull. I’m trying to figure out how to get an extra Sunderland DGW player. I guess it comes down to Gomez or Defoe, Hazard or Kane.

I’m probably over thinking this. I usually do!

Thanks for your thoughts. Good luck with it.

Part the reason I held off Bertrand to Kolarov for a hit last GW. I would have been 8 pts up.

              Terry is not Kolarov.

You made the right choice last week, there are only two gameweeks left, very little time for hits to pay off.

    Schmeichel
    Terry PVA Skrtel
    Sanchez (C) Hazard Silva Rambo
    Kun Benteke Kane

    Subs: Hamer Alder McShane Cork

Won MLs and playing for OR now.

Is Skrtel -> Kos and Haz -> Gerrard for -4 madness?

You definitely need to forgo Giroud. I think Cazorla and Defoe could be good differentials if you have 2FTs, but those around you may be bringing them in as well! Good luck.

Number 1 has Giroud, so I doubt I will do that. Plus I don't think I'd want him in any case - he's gone off the boil a bit of late with a string of 2-pointers.

I can't really say what I'm planning, but appreciate the advice - thank you!

Funnily enough, I've followed this site since the first month it was created. This is the first year I've posted in all fairness, and I don't post that much.

My original post was tongue in cheek btw, I'm not genuinely annoyed about it!

                No need to gamble imo

GW37 - pick an Arsenal player as capt thats not called Sanchez
GW38 - is a lottery and can easily yield points unless no 1 and 2 have much the same teams as you.

Play Vlaar (sot) or Moreneo (CPL)?

Moreno has a 25% to start and a 25% to come on and get me a point, I guess?
The 50% scenario, in that he wont play a minute is irrelevant as Vlaar would come in for him.
So how much better are Pools chances to get a clean sheet compared to Villas. Because if Moreno (in case of a start is likely to score approx 4points (50-50chance of a clean sheet -yc -bonus) it would be (1+4)

    1. Dr. Agabuse
      • 13 Years

Oh wasnt done.. (1+4)/2 which means 2,5. So Vlaar needs to have a higher estimation than 2,5. does he get that?

Has anybody ever tried playing quarterly or monthly leagues using the drop down menu on the league page ?....I've been in several leagues over the years where the majority of starters have packed up by the end of the season. Does it keep people more interested if you do that ?

As long as folk keep playing it must be better. My brother is in a big league at his place of work but he's telling me only about three are still doing it out of a hundred...My son 's school league is much the same with about ten playing out of an original 100 plus or so. It's rubbish if that happens.

One I am running has payouts for top score each quarter as well.

Half our comp seem to have given up which is odd, though the top three have won one each so far and only the top three captained Aguero last week so Q4 could again go to one of the top three.

I was hoping for more pushing for the quarter prizes but havent really seen that. Glad we didn't go weekly prizes!
