We delve into the data this evening in our first members article of the week. Watford, Man City and Everton’s strikers arrive under analysis, whilst we also assess United and Newcastle’s attacks before casting an eye over a couple of defensive differentials from City and Liverpool.

well put it this way he's damn lucky Rooney popped up when he did tonight because the crowd turned on him badly when he decided to take off Martial when we were chasing a goal

and when it was being reported that Martial was going to be the one taken off instead of Rooney it was obvious the crowd were going to go mental and rightly so... If we had failed to win that game tonight i dare say i would of been edging towards the LVG out camp

Regardless of whether you win anything or not I think its criminal that LVG can take over such a big club and bring this brand of football that he does.

one one hand im more than happy with the signings and the strength of squad in most areas and more importantly the deadwood he has ridden the club of

but i just dont think he has what it takes to get the most out of what he has from an offensive point of view its pretty obvious he doesnt actually

the work he has done on the defence and in particular Smalling cant go unnoticed though and the squad with another couple of additions can go on to great things under the next manager

Depends on your perspective I guess. On the one hand they're playing awful football, on the other they're on course for a title challenge and to get out of the group stage.

Results v performances is a bit like form v fixtures. People will argue over which is more important but at the end of the day you really want both.

How does stats analysis work? Say with NEW having ridiculous number of shots and chances and yet no goals in the last two games, does this mean:-

    1. They are due and will tear BOU a new one. Play Wijnaldum, bench Ayew; or
    2. They have no finishing ability. Play Ayew, bench Wijnaldum.

      Neither

      3. They appear to have been unlucky with their finishing but their attacking prospects still look good.

+1, though I would amend slightly to say:

They were crazily lucky against Norwich but since then they have been unlucky. Over the past three games they are not far off where you would expect their production to be given their underlying statistics.

Basically, their luck has evened out.

However SAFC conceded 24 big chances per game that means 2,18 big chances per game. I guess one of that big chances will go to Pelle (statistically wise), so I think gambling on him being the donkey on that one big chance is worth the risk no?

Yeah your bench saved me, but it was very interesting, you had the 1:0 lead after I made 12 pt hit, you had all the advantage, but didn't capitalize. Wish me luck in the next round against Hooky. However I love the format, really involves more skill than luck

Yeah you can definitely play H2H over 3 rounds very tactically if you want. There were a lot of decisions to be made in the 3rd round I felt. Anyway it was a deserved win, so good luck for the next round. Hopefully I was eliminated by the eventual winner!

You can't ignore the fact that Sunderland have conceded 14 in their last 6 games. That's just as relevant (if not more so) a stat than the difference between Pelle's home/away form.

I wouldn't like to bank on their main striker missing at least one big chance. I guess you've got a really good front 8, so fair enough if he's the one that you need to bench. My team's not quite that strong though!

Have you seen Sunderland defending lately? They have no clue what is going on. Even against Newcastle they didn't exist until referee's help. They have rotation in CB all the time. If Coates plays, I'm sure they concede 2 at least.

"Mesut is probably the most intelligent player I have ever played with, he is probably the most intelligent player in Europe today," the 31-year-old defender told the Mirror.

"Mesut sees things only he can. His vision is as good as I have ever seen.

"It was laughable when he was being questioned after his move to Arsenal.

"It doesn't matter how good you are, everybody needs time to settle in a new league. Especially a league like England, where you don’t get as much time on the ball, and of course the game is a lot more physical.

"People don’t necessarily understand his game, he isn’t there to run at players or even beat them, he is far more intelligent than that.

"He finds space and creates chances for his team-mates, and you only need to look at the assist table to understand there is nobody better than him at that."

    Philipp Lahm understands 🙂

I came to a similar conclusion on my WC, especially as keeper bonus points rely quite heavily on saves. The only problem is I took Jones at 0.2m cheaper 😳

Adding fixtures in here. Only one red coloured fixture in the next nine on the scout ticker. Home games in particular look great for clean sheets under Klopp: (CPL, SWA, WBA) in the next six.

He has looked much more attacking under Klopp but that's just a bonus. Pick your defenders for clean sheets first.

Who do I bench in defense and in attack?

    Myhill - McCarthy
    Smalling - Coleman - Bellerin - Nyom - Targett
    Sanchez - KDB - Mane - Wijnaldum - Mahrez
    Pelle - Bony - Lukaku

      Targett... Probably Wijnaldum too.

      Bellerin is injured.

      SORTED.

I'm only going by what has been mentioned here earlier, which was that Wenger had said he'll miss the midweek game but should be back for the PL game this weekend. No need to sass.

Said he could be back for Tottenham. Now I need to see if it is could or should. Two different things.

Not that easily when they are up against Bournemouth and when you look those numbers in the article above.

Depends if you have Sanchez. If you do, I'd say yes.

      Definitely.

Ozil has zero goals in him and you are covered by Sanchez. Worse still, you have removed a player who is far more influential in his team and has the points to prove it.

      Don't do it again.

Strongly considering this move___ or Sanchez > Ozil.

Ozil will outscore Payet I feel.

Payet is the heartbeat of West Ham's attack. Could be a season keeper if you got him cheap
