Gameweek 15’s opening salvo pits Stoke City against Manchester City at the Britannia Stadium. The Potters were unable to cope with the dismissal of their captain, Ryan Shawcross, in their last league tie but recovered with a 2-0 win in their midweek League Cup clash. Likewise, the Sky Blues will be in high spirits in the wake of their 4-1 win over Hull City.

Stoke have proven a tough nut to crack on their own turf this campaign, conceding the fifth-fewest number of home goals (four). Furthermore, they rank in the bottom four with regards to shots inside the box conceded (40) and joint-last for big chances surrendered (four). A sturdy base has come at the expense of attacking flair, though, given that the Potters have carded fewer attempts (58), shots inside the box (29) and shots on target (17) than any team at home.

Surprisingly, only four sides have recorded fewer goals than Man City on their travels (seven). In addition the Sky Blues possess the third-worst shot-conversion rate (7.1%) in road matches, which suggests their meeting with Stoke could be a keenly contested and edgy affair. Those Fantasy managers in possession of Man City defenders will be encouraged by the fact that Manuel Pellegrini’s troops boast the best away record (four goals conceded) in the league.

Funny old game FPL. I'd planned to ditch Butland this week but injuries to Coutinho, Sanchez and Aguero forced me to look the other way. I'm glad now.
    also
I fancied City might be a bit kak until Kompany returned so I put one of the Stoke mids in my DEC UFPL team all week but took him out at the last minute....No matter though because I chose the wrong one anyway with Walters...phew, got lucky there....took him out and put Lanzini in instead !!!!

Southampton and Chelsea have been rather tame at scoring. City has massive injuries atm,and historically thrashes teams at home, not away from home - e.g. this season 23 goals in 8 home matches leads the league, but only 7 goals in 7 away matches is bottom of the table stuff. And then there's the point that mid-table teams often are likelier to have a CS against a big club that they don't think they can win and will go ultra-defensively against, than against a smaller club that they attack against and try their best to win.

    About the Lanzini injury

My colleague at OT said West Ham posted a statement about the extent of the injury, but it was removed shortly after.

It was not meant to troll people, but I guess it's all a bit up in the air at the mo.

Seems so. Can't know yet for sure, but I think it's likelier for defenders to get some previously uncounted baps than it is for the GK.

Simply because the GK's baps tend to be easier to count on game as he touches the ball more seldom. Defenders may do stuff like clearances and blocks that are properly counted after the game. Or it would seem logical to me. I don't tend to check the baps before they are finally given so I don't know much about how it actually goes. Just what would seem logical.
