Gameweek 15’s opening salvo pits Stoke City against Manchester City at the Britannia Stadium. The Potters were unable to cope with the dismissal of their captain, Ryan Shawcross, in their last league tie but recovered with a 2-0 win in their midweek League Cup clash. Likewise, the Sky Blues will be in high spirits in the wake of their 4-1 win over Hull City.

Stoke have proven a tough nut to crack on their own turf this campaign, conceding the fifth-fewest number of home goals (four). Furthermore, they rank in the bottom four with regards to shots inside the box conceded (40) and joint-last for big chances surrendered (four). A sturdy base has come at the expense of attacking flair, though, given that the Potters have carded fewer attempts (58), shots inside the box (29) and shots on target (17) than any team at home.

Surprisingly, only four sides have recorded fewer goals than Man City on their travels (seven). In addition the Sky Blues possess the third-worst shot-conversion rate (7.1%) in road matches, which suggests their meeting with Stoke could be a keenly contested and edgy affair. Those Fantasy managers in possession of Man City defenders will be encouraged by the fact that Manuel Pellegrini’s troops boast the best away record (four goals conceded) in the league.

I gotta say. I'm really jealous of those butland owners. Wollys 6pts on my bench are infuriating.

One out of four ain't bad - provided that's the one you captained!

Looks like Butland still worth buying despite some difficult fixtures

Crushed by a triple City failure in FPL, but very impressed with Stoke in real terms. Hadn't watched them much lately. Tons of self belief.

Yeah, that's why we bought him, because we expected him not to get CS's. 🙄

As a self loathing masochist, that is exactly why I bought him.

What you say is true. We bought him mostly because he is dirt cheap. every point is a bonus, for me anyway

            10 years, 11 months ago

Dirt cheap? He's the most expensive GK I've bought in FPL for like 2 years now.

            10 years, 11 months ago

Anyway, speak for yourself. I brought him in last week for the prospect of points and this is the first GW I played him, because I expected him to score better than my other, cheaper GK.

      10 years, 11 months ago

      Nah, just the 7 points.

Dropped KDB for a hit last week. Bought him back for this week for an extra £0,5m. Apologies to owners. Regret not bringing in Hazard but felt KDB was a long term better option. Means Hazard gets a brace today at least 🙁

Sell him again if you don't mind?

Lol, I wouldn't worry too much though. Good fixtures coming and looked their only threat today

        I played him 😉

Had him since the start though, my default keeper.

Opponent has Butland and Kolarov so was certainly expecting 8 from two players. Wasn't expecting it to be Butland 7 and Kolarov 1. City were woeful!
