Gameweek 29’s last hurrah finds West Bromwich Albion and Manchester United doing battle at The Hawthorns. The Baggies were defeated just once in their last six outings, while the Red Devils’ injection of youth has seen them fend off Arsenal and Watford in the past seven days.

West Brom chalked up six goals over the last four Gameweeks, despite ranking joint-bottom for attempts (34), joint-second-bottom for shots inside the box (20) and joint-second bottom for shots on target (nine). The underlying statistics fail to paint a positive picture with respect to the Baggies’ clean-sheet potential, considering that they allowed the most shots inside the box (53) and the second-most big chances (11).

Man United place in the middle of the pack in terms of their attacking output across the previous four Gameweeks, having carded six goals and the tenth-most attempts (50). As for the visitors’ defensive productivity, West Brom could prey on the fact that Louis van Gaal’s side ranked fourth for shots inside the box conceded (43) and joint-third for big chances conceded (10). They’ll also be aware that United have emerged victorious in just one of their last seven road clashes.

Liverpool have a game in hand on Leicester. Could make all the difference in the title race.

It's funny but I noticed how it was mostly Arsenal, Leicester and Spurs fans on here questioning the peno.. They're nervously looking over their shoulders now after that win

Leicester need to win 5 games before it's mathematically impossible for you to catch them. That's with you winning all your final games.

    Philosophical repost :p

Players don't see it as diving. They see it as a exploiting a loophole just how businesses will avoid taxes by using loopholes that aren't illegal but maybe unethical. If you make a set of rules than can be exploited people will, that's human nature. The players are doing their job, you don't have to like it.

So a player is in it for his profit as well as the team's? It works both ways though!

A players job its to win their team games by any means within the rules. Just like how company had a fiduciary responsibility to make profits.

Have alli, firmino, ozil, payet and mahrez. So likely only 2 mids for gw 30. Rest of team is fine, but who should I sell to field an active 11? My gut is saying ozil. Thoughts?

Obviously will wait for fa cup tie before pulling a trigger. Ideally hull win 🙂

I have the same but: You can play in any formation, providing 1 goalkeeper, at least 3 defenders and at least 1 forward are selected at all times.

Targett is my 5th defender, but not sure if I want to spend valuable funds on an upgrade to him. He might play with fonte injury but I am not sure I want to rely on a 5-2-3 either way.

Thanks though. Guess I will wait and see. Any injuries this week will not be welcomed hah

Whether we like it or not players are going down with minimal contact. It's the way the game is these days. Defenders need to stay on their feet in those situations.

It's been a fabulous week for FFSers with huge scores everywhere.

However, I feel GW30 could be even more profitable for us even if the scores aren't as large. The main purpose of this site is to inform and help us in our everyday FPL worries, hence why he vast majority of us (with the help of some FA Cup fixtures) will field a strong XI next week.

Having had a look at many high ranked teams in my MLs, many can only field 6, 7 or 8 without a hit, especially if Arsenal win. Next week could see us rise further with a full lineup.

Really want Arsenal to progress vs Hull as lots in ML have 3 Arsenal which will put them in a bad position if they qualify and a great postion if Hull qualify.

Course but the advantages of Arsenal qualifying are good so it'd help me if they did so!

        Cheers!

Aren't there 3 dgw? I thought WHU had a blank in gw35 or will they add that game to Liverpool Everton City Newcastle dgw?

          Blank 35 = DGW37
Everton could get 3 DGWs or a TGW and DGW
