We bid farewell to a truncated Gameweek 30 as Leicester City and Newcastle collide at the King Power Stadium. The Foxes haven’t been bested on home soil since a 5-2 defeat to Arsenal in Gameeweek 7, so they’ll fancy their chances of overturning a Newcastle United outfit that have lost five of their last six – despite the x-factor that is the arrival of new boss Rafa Benitez.

Leicester posted middling attacking stats over the last four Gameweeks, recording five goals and the seventh-most attempts (56). That being said, the Foxes haven’t needed a multitude of attempts to be effective this term, as evidenced by the fact they chart top for goal conversion rate (13.4%). Notwithstanding Leicester’s recent success at the back, they’ve conceded the fourth-most shots inside the box (38) since Gameweek 26, offering Benitez a glimmer of hope in his first match in charge of the Magpies.

Newcastle didn’t perform that much better than last-placed Villa across the previous four Gameweeks, ranking joint-bottom for goals (two), second-bottom for both attempts (29) and shots inside the box (17) and joint-second-bottom for shots on target (nine). Compounding their dearth of quality up top, the Tynesiders also surrendered the joint-second-most goals (nine) during that stretch, heightening the prospects of Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez as the Foxes look to consolidate their spot at the summit.

      1. measuremiracles
        • 11 Years
        10 years, 1 month ago

people misunderstand "winning goal" - this isn't how it works. the extra bps gets added as soon as the goal goes in if it's a winning goal, so okazaki's total already includes the extra points for the winner. if newcastle had equalised, his winning goal bps would decrease.

in short: "winning goal" is /not/ added on at the end of the game.

        1. Konig Luther
          • 13 Years
          10 years, 1 month ago

who would they add it to the goal, if they don't know if that will be the winning goal.

in short: it's added on some minutes after the end of the game

alright then - let's wait and see whether okazaki's score of 32, which he had from 80 mins onward, changes at all. good luck!

Lukaku is in great form (6 ppg) and Arsenal looks weak defensively currently.

think teams are sitting a bit deeper and not allowing them quite so much space in behind.
also tonight and against Watford & WBA Mahrez often seemed to have 3 players shutting him down quickly.
also as the season has progressed and they've become a bit more pragmatic.
i reckon if they can avoid key injuries they're a good enough unit to hang on.
Arsenal have the easiest fixtures but Spurs & Leicester's remaining games are pretty evenly matched.

They should have scored early. On paper they aren't that horrific but you'd be punting

Reckon BOU will score past Spurs next gameweek? They are quite nice going forward

Bournemouth are decent, but I don't reckon they'll score.

I'm pretty sure they will but it's dangerous to bench Toby.

I've got Dier. Think I'll bench

100% they will score. Daniels, Gradel, Afobe, King.. so many players capable of going up on the scoresheet. It's the form they are in that makes them dangerous..
