The ICC World T20 moves into its third phase from Tuesday (21st March). This takes a look at the fixtures and offers those playing the game a new article for cricket discussions.

Fixtures

22nd March, Tuesday  –  New Zealand Vs Pakistan, Mohali

23rd March, Wednesday –  England Vs Afghanistan, Delhi & India Vs Bangladesh, Bengaluru

25th March, Friday – Pakistan Vs Australia, Mohali & South Africa Vs West Indies, Nagpur

26th March, Saturday – Bangladesh Vs New Zealand, Kolkatta &  Sri Lanka Vs England, Delhi

27th March, Sunday – Afghanistan Vs West Indies, Nagpur & India Vs Australia, Mohali

28th March, Monday- South Africa Vs Sri Lanka, Delhi

Discussion Points

  • From this we can see that New Zealand, Pakistan, Bangladesh play early on and their fixtures end early. So it would be good to load their players and save on some transfers.
  • Feroz shah kotla (New Delhi), Eden Gardens  (Kolkata), Chinna swamy (Bangalore) are slow pitches. But Mohali,Chandigarh is a little bit fast, skiddy, bouncy and grassy.

              (probably not fair to compare but equality and all that) Claire Taylor was there the other day 'hitting' balls that were softly tossed to her, and she barely put bat on ball!

        It was honestly embarassing to watch... you know when you see Warney and co in the Zone bowling slow spin to KP or whoever the batsman is, and 8 or 9 times out of 10, they'll demonstrate a successful block or drive shot?

        Well Claire Taylor was getting what can only be described as 'chest pass' full tosses and she hit 2 in the middle of the bat... the rest she either completely missed the ball or just edged it in a direction she definitely wasn't aiming for hahaha

        I've never seen her play before, but she's definitely not a Sarah Taylor!!

    Who is everyone looking at for their forward line for WC. For me Lukaku and Kun take the first 2 slots as things stand but I just can’t decide on the third striker

    Kane – Pricey and only has SGW’s, however could outscore DGKer’s on his day. Also seems a bit Dullard.

    Welbeck – Arsenal fixtures are great but rotation is a massive risk

    Martial – Great fixtures and nailed on but does mean having faith in Man Utd attacking output.

    Rashford – Same as Martial at a much reduced price but more chance of rotation.

    Mitrovic – Fixtures are a mixed bag, but has shown sparks of potential. Can Benitez get him shooting straight?

      Prefer Morgan to Buttler... both explosive, but Morgan will bat 4... I never bring in batsmen/wicketkeepers batting lower than 4, unless they bowl as well.

      Buttler has the gloves for stumping/catches etc... Morgan is a gun fielder

      Tough to split, but I favour Morgan.
