Cristiano Ronaldo and Ricardo Quaresma both score twice as Portugal bring the curtain down on the pre-Euro 2016 friendlies by putting seven past Estonia.

Portugal 7 Estonia 0

Portugal bounced back from last week’s narrow loss against England to register a third win in four with a 7-0 home victory over Estonia.

Cristiano Ronaldo served a timely reminder of just why he’s the most expensive player in the Uefa game last night. Priced at 12.0m, the Real Madrid man bagged a brace and fired five attempts before being replaced by Nani at the break – he’s currently the third most popular forward with 28% ownership.

Handed a second start in the last three friendlies, Ricardo Quaresma was afforded the full 90 minutes and outshone his strike partner by serving up two goals and a pair of assists. The 6.0-priced forward also scored in a win over Norway late last month and looks in pole position to retain his start for the opener with Iceland.

In the centre of the park, Joao Mario (6.0) produced a pair of assists in his fifth successive start. The Sporting Lisbon man has now delivered four assists across that period and, with a mere 2% ownership, looks an in-form differential to consider. Fellow midfield starters Danilo Pereira and Andre Gomes chipped in with a goal and assist respectively.

Renato Sanches (assist) and Eder (goal) both emerged from the bench to play a part in the rout. At a price of just 4.5, the former is owned by 16% of Fantasy managers yet has been utilised as no more than a second-half sub in each of the last five matches.

At the back, Fernando Santos made wholesale changes from the England match as Raphael Guerreiro, Jose Fonte, Cedric Soares and Pepe all returned to a defence that has now shipped just three goals in the last six friendlies.

The former trio have now started three of the last four friendlies and judging by recent teamsheets, seem to have moved up the pecking order of late. Fonte and Soares set you back just 4.5 apiece but, at a price of just 4.0, left-back Guerreiro could be the pick of the budget options if he retains his spot in Santos’ XI. The left-back bagged a goal and assist in a win over Norway late last month and created four chances for his team-mates in last night’s romp.

Portugal XI: Rui Patricio; Soares (Vierinha 46), Pepe (R Carvalho 58), Fonte, Guerreiro; Pereira (W Carvalho 70), Mario (Eder 59), Gomes, Moutinho (Sanches 58); Ronaldo (Nani 46), Quaresma

To be fair, both Xhakas are born and raised in Switzerland in fact, as are some other Albanian NT players, such as Gashi, and many other Albanian players who have born in Albania have grown up and learnt their trade in Switzerland, e.g. their captain Cana. You could as well say Switzerland 0-2 Albania, goals from 2 Swiss Xhaka, Gashi! 😀

*not sure on Gashi in fact, whether he was born in Zurich or just moved there at young age. But he's a Zürich youth product, anyway, like Cana is a Lausanne youth product.

What's the deal with Juanfran? Some people seem worried, others not at all. What's the reasoning behind the statement he's nailed? Bellerin has got a lot of minutes in recent friendlies. What about Fabregas? Isn't there a real threat with Koke and Thiago pushing for that CM spot?

Had both in the first draft, but I'm not betting on them anymore. If you want Spain, Alba, Ramos, Pique, Silva, Morata or Nolito are better picks (even though Nolito and Morata to an extent are also risky)

Hi guys - another question coming up:

Can we change formation during a game day and if so how does it work?

So say I am 442 and want to go 443 can I choose the midfielder I replace or like the World Cup one will the most left-sided midfielder automatically go.

Please really need answers to this.

Isn't Boateng still an injury doubt for the GW1?

        Isn't that Hummels? 😕

Hummels is an injury doubt for both GW1 and GW2, even maybe for GW3(? the word is that he aims to return for GW3, maybe GW2, but to my mind that means that GW2 is primarily a doubt and GW3 a slight doubt). My memory may fail me, but I recall that Boateng was just recently sidelined for a knock too, and is not sure to play the first match. But don't take my word on it, just check that there's no injury doubt on him and tell me too when you've found it out. 🙂

Perišić 5%, Hamšík 5% and Giroud 12% which is pretty template here.

But for the same price I can get:

Alli 32%, Modric 22% and Griezmann 33% which is clearly more template in the game overall?

(I know Alli is highly owned on here also, just working within the price range)

    Which is better

Griezmann played out wide so I prefer Giroud. I have Alli but think there is better than Modric for GW1

Looking at the names, I'd prefer the FFS template, but I suspect that the overall template just tends to be more successful.

Has anybody taken a look at our tournament success? How our templates have compared to the general ones in terms of points in the group stage?

    Made a draft team.

    Patricio, Randolph
    Koscielny, Glik, Baird, Chester, Denayer
De Bruyne, Perisic, Gotze, Junuzovic, Alli
    Muller, Giroud, Milik

Idea was to pick 1 CS potential keeper and 1 save points gathering keeper.
2 relatively good defenders and 3 cheapies.
5 attacking mids (2 good priced ones and 3 mid priced ones)
2 forwards from top teams & 1 mid priced.

Considering the following options as well.
Since Guerrero started and did well, mind tells me to take him but that would mean double Portugal defence.
Also Quaresma's recent exploits are tempting as well which bodes well in getting Payet or another mid instead of Alli who may or may not play deep coz of Rooney..

    Ideas and opinions needed.

You need some Spain cover. Not sure about KdB for GW1 - depends when you want to WC

Maybe am a bit biased, but for me, KdB is a must. If the Spain cover is a must, then I guess I will do

        Milik to Quaresma
        Alli to Fabregas/Iniesta

Is fabregas and giacherrini even likely starters?

Also, is there a likely line ups article anywhere?
