Sunday affords DraftKings managers a trio of Euro 2016 fixtures to construct their squads around as Groups C and D get up and running.

Our next set of player recommendations assess what’s on offer tomorrow as in-form pair Turkey and Croatia square up in the early two o’clock slot before Poland take on Northern Ireland and Germany go head-to-head with Ukraine later in the evening.

Croatia and Turkey both boast fine recent records. The pair have tasted defeat just once in their last 13 and 16 fixtures respectively and Croatia warmed up for their opener with a 10-0 trouncing of San Marino in midweek.

World Champions Germany fired more shots and attempts on target than any side on the road to Euro 2016, whilst Poland arrive as the top scoring team in qualifying.

We’ve assembled our player tips for Sunday’s DraftKings contests below, focusing on a mix of big-money names that are likely to be key figures, along with a sprinkle of value alternatives that may just prove equally vital to our eight-man line-ups.

Matchday 3 Player Picks

Darijo Srna, Croatia – $6100
The Croatia captain’s raids down the flank look vital to his side’s prospects against Turkey. Srna sat third top for crosses amongst defenders in qualifying and has maintained that form in the last four friendlies by earning a trio of assists. Turkey are clearly susceptible to aerial balls – they conceded 22 headed attempts over the group stages, the fourth-worst defensive record – and with target man Mario Mandzukic back in top form, Srna’s supply line could prove decisive.

Jakub Wawrzyniak, Poland – $4100
With three clean sheets in their final four friendlies, Poland’s defence looks worthy of consideration against a Northern Ireland outfit that has scored more than a single goal in just one of their last seven. An injury to first-choice left-back Maciej Rybus has allowed Jakub Wawrzyniak to start two of the final three friendlies. Priced at a kind $X, he produced a cross every 30.4 minutes in qualifying, quicker than the pricier Lukasz Piszczek on the opposite side of the back-four for Adam Nawalka’s side.

Toni Kroos, Germany – $6700
An all-action option in the centre of the park, Kroos was ranked amongst the top five midfielders for both attempts on goal and chances created in the qualifiers. Having averaged 73% possession on the road to France, Germany are likely to dominate proceedings against Ukraine, with Kroos’ ball-winning abilities key to breaking up their opponents’ rapid counter attacks. Number one for corner kicks, the Real Madrid man offers a secure pick at a time where Joachim Lowe is mulling over the make-up of his attack.

Yevhen Konoplyanka, Ukraine – $7100
The Ukraine wide man approaches the tournament in fine fettle after bagging two goals and a pair of assists in his last four outings. Konoplyanka’s pace and trickery on the break will be a vital weapon against Germany if Mikhail Fomenko’s side are to upset the world champions – he won more fouls than any player over the qualifiers. As his nation’s chief creator from open play and dead ball situations, Konoplyanka will be tasked with unlocking a backline that’s managed just a single clean sheet in their last nine matches.

Robert Lewandowski, Poland – $11,200
Given that Thomas Muller could be utilised on Germany’s right flank against Ukraine, we’re turning to Poland’s talisman as our premium DraftKings forward for Sunday’s matches. Top scorer in qualifying with 13 strikes, Lewandowski also supplied a trio of assists and played a part in 51% of his side’s goals. Opponents Northern Ireland can be expected to sit deep and soak up the pressure but considering they mustered a mere three clean sheets on the road to France, the Bayern Munich frontman should be afforded plenty of opportunities to get off the mark.

DraftKings contests for Sunday’s matches are now available, including a $3 entry “Striker” with a $5k prize pot.

DraftKings is available only to those aged 18 or over. Be sure to take note of their Terms and Conditions here.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

@ Debauchy - I don't think you can transfer Lewand > Ronaldo free transfer until the MD1 round of Fixtures have finished, I can't see any where in the app to do same, I presume it will become live once the deadline has passed.
The more I look at it the early FT look pretty useless if you are WC post MD2.

Just been looking various at the various showing England player ratings last night - the variation in the individual assessments was wide. Some of them are widely different from miine. (Yes I know they're subjective). I'm very curious as to waht FFS people think of the various players. Please copy this list and add your own ratings out of 10 (it saves having to refer back if the players are shown). I'll add mine a bit later - I don't want to influence anyone! (although I have made my own already)

    Hart
    Walker
    Cahill
    Smalling
    Rose
    Dier
    Rooney

I like Bowstring's "calibration" comment (Where 1 is bad, 5 is okay and 10 is brilliant) - it would have been a good idea to suggest something like that in the first place. I'd say something like 3 is dire, 4 poor, 5 fair, 6 Ok, 7 good, 8 very good, 9 excellent, 10 out of this world. My basic starting point form watching the match was that I thought Kane was extremely lack lustre - and I certainly would not have taken Rooney off. Sterling should have gone.

      Hart 6
      Walker 7.5

I thought he was terrible. Gave the ball away on several occasions, slowed the play down, positionally poor etc. Two good moments, which is all that got commented on.

Absolutely not, he contributed sweet f.a. defensively and his so-called fantastic passing range was 95% pointless. In his passing map there's just one vertical, centrally aimed pass (circled in the linked image below). Everything else is just shating it to the wings, sideways or backwards. He's like a latter-day Stevie G getting praise because he plays a couple of aerial diagonal balls out to the wings. You can count on one hand the total number of players he successfully took out of a passage of play in 78 minutes.

Just looked at the YouTube clip - he certainly looked pretty good to me. I stick by my rating. Btw, in no way am I a Utd fan in general or Rooney fan specifically ... I was all for dropping him from the forward line before this tournament, but I am much happier now that he's back pulling the strings in midfield.
We'll just have to agree to differ I suppose. 🙂

Whilst out last night before the England game I was speaking to an Italian guy who has followed Italy for many years. He spoke about there being a real lack of depth to the Italian squad and that in his opinion they will get hammered by the Belgians.
I was suitably encouraged as a KDB owner.

I like McDonald rule and I think FPL should apply the same:

    - No assist awarded for winning penalty or free kick, just award 2p and no BPS.
    - Goal from penalty should be calculated less BPS than an open play goal. They applied this rule 2-3 years ago, dont know why they dont keep it. I've been sick of seeing sometime a penalty taker in a team score a late penalty goal, he played sh** whole game but got max 3 bonus by that lucky pen goal while others players played better.

The assists are quite lucky at times. Players tend to cross a ball, and it catches the hand of the defender awarding a penalty. This is not BPS worthy.

I'm debating whether change captain from Giroud to Muller or Morato.

    Would like your thoughts ?

Go ahead and change. Giroud's measly 5pts definitely not enough.

        actually it's only 3p.
2p for game play are the same

Actually it's only 1pt game play due to that stupid YC. But I agree with you 100%.

Like Doos has said, need at least 2 events to occur, either a goal+assist or a brace, for the armband to stick.

It's not exactly an 'either or' option as they play on different days. It's Muller AND then Morata if necessary.

Am I being stupid and hungover? I can't find where to transfer players out? Tried clicking on them but it only gives me a substitute option?

Only 1 transfer per Matchday is given after it has ended. So for the first 3 Matchdays, a total of 2 transfers is what we will get before the knock-out stage starts.

      1. Lynxy
        • 10 Years
        10 years, 1 month ago

Free transfers that is. -4 hit for each additional transfers made.

Price will only change when the knock-outs starts, so no need to worry now.

    Stick or twist?

    Stanciu (4) > Perisic?

KdB and Ozil still to play.

Of course twist. 4 is not nearly enough.

twist to Ozil or Perisic. Prefer the former.

Stick with Dier as (C) or twist to Muller?

    1. JoOocker

Have the same decision to make. Leaning towards leaving Dier as a captain. Muller would need to score twice or score + assist to match Dier. More likely that's not going to happen.

So my fantasy team is doing pretty horrendous so far, but my Daily 7's I'm ranked 44th Globally :O

Yesterday I did well due to having the whole Swiss defence, bar Djourou, with Shaqiri Bale and Kane (Rodriguez captain), would you say it's worth stacking on Croatia, Poland or Germany defence today, or is today more about attack? (Perisic Muller Lewandoski Gotze)

Yeah I think today could be the right day to do it, though I'm tempted to still do 3 defenders, possibly 2 Croatia 1 Poland. But then there's Muller Lewa Perisic Mandzukic Gotze Ozil etc which makes it tougher

        1. FFFrog
          • 10 Years

I wouldn't risk a Croatian defender and think NI may just nick a goal! I'm currently on Gotze, Milik, Muller, Perisic, Calhanoglu, Mandzukic, Lewa C.

Apologies, this question may of been asked afew times before. Regarding substitutions, do you have to make them before the 1st match of the day or if you want to bring in a player off the bench for the 17:00 match can you do this before that match kick off?

    4) Mandzukic (vs TUR)

Hodgson's England have now matched their World Cup points tally after only 1 game!

If we can manage a point against Wales that will show really good improvement, doubtless to be rewarded with a contract extension to 2020. 😕

Klinsmann would be a good option. Failing that give it to someone like Eddie Howe and let him develop in the job. Same as Chris Coleman has done for Wales.
