England begin their Euro 16 campaign with a Group B encounter against Russia.

Roy Hodgson’s side have claimed three wins in their last four outings, although with uncertainty surrounding their first choice lineup, it’s fair to say that England’s preparations have not been plain sailing. The Three Lions have failed to convince in the build up to the tournament, scoring just six goals over those four friendlies as they struggled to maintain momentum from emphatic form in qualifying.

Russia’s confidence heading into tonight’s encounter is even more questionable: they’ve claimed just a single victory in their last four friendly outings, registering an effort on goal every 12.8 minutes. Defensively they’ve shipped seven goals in those matches, conceding 29 efforts from inside their own box – only two other sides have allowed more over their last four.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Poor choice not selecting Dier. Would've certainly if I had known he was on Free Kick duty! FFS dropped the ball on that one, Kane, Rooney and Milner listed.

Thank your lucky stars he conceded late on or the damage would have been worse
