Today’s first Euro 2016 match is only the second British home nations clash at a major tournament, as England take on Wales in Group B.

The two sides have a long history on the international stage, having played each other 102 times, with England winning 66 times to Wales’ 14 victories, the last of which came in 1984.

Chris Coleman’s Wales go into the match on the back of a confidence building 2-1 win against Slovakia, where an impressive eight of their 11 goal attempts were on target.

In contrast England’s confidence took a knock after they conceded in injury time in their 1-1 draw with Russia. Roy Hodgson’s team will have to be more clinical if they are to beat Wales after seeing two thirds of their 15 goal attempts against Russia fail to hit the target.

A performance to rival that of their only previous home nations major tournament tie, when they beat Scotland in Euro 96, may be needed if England is to get the better of their noisy neighbours.

Say what you like about Bodgson, he doesn't embroil the FA in any controversy and wears the blazer in a dignified manner. That's what he's paid for after all.

You see the problem now is its top late for England. Mistakes were made, it's too late to introduce pace. Sturridge should be starting, will not be as effective now as Wales sit back.

It's like he is afraid to lose his job by picking the wrong starters, not realizing that a failure to get to the knockouts will certainly cost him his job.

The position is too much for him.
