what does a solo/run dribble mean really? Does it mean a player has to beat 1 man? 2 men? 3 men. Does the dribble/solo run have to be 10+ yards

the fact we do not know this makes them not giving an assist very controversial I agree

No assist is giving to A PLAYER who creates his OWN goalscoring opportunity.
Talking about one player, i.e goalscorer, i.e HAZARD.
So KDB should, according to the rules be given the assist.

Given how the rules are worded, it can only be understood as the goalscorer himself doesn't get the assist.

Unless it's a grammatical error, but to my knowledge the language on the UEFA website is pretty spot on? So the assist will probably be added manually - it just wasn't awarded because of wherever they take their data from.

Gutted for the boys in green today, from what I could see of the game at work, they played their hearts out and were unlucky in many ways.

Think this is a good debate, fantasy aside.

Well imo yes. The person who gave the ball had the option to make a different pass, maybe back to a defender, or to a different player. So without that pass, whether it was 1m or a 20m long ball over the top, he provided the pass that created the goal.

If KDB had passed it backwards, Hazard would not have scored. Point is that De Bruyne DID pass it to Hazard and as a result, Hazard scored from the choice he made to pass it. Hence he ASSISTED the goal.

It's so clear cut and straight-forward that we shouldn't even be discussing it, yet here we are 😕

Think I've come up with a good use of my 4 FT, with my wildcard ready to be used for the semi finals.

This is what I currently have:

Hennessey / DDG
Hector / Jed / Taylor / Dier / Meunier
KDB / Kroos / Rakitic / Perisic / Payet
Bale / Muller / Lukaku

The transfers I am thinking of doing are:

Rakitic > Hazard
Perisic > Draxler
Muller > Gomez
Lukaku > Griezzman

Unless I have made an error in my calculations, I should have enough to do this unless their are massive price changes, as I have 0.3m in the bank.

Leaves me with 1 player on MD1, 6 on MD2, 5 on MD3 assuming Spain go through, and 3 on MD4.

Any thoughts?

Forget that I have KDB (C), but if this assist wasn't given, it would make nearly 50% of the assists given very shaky (dribble / creating your own chance are very general terms), also what people are mentioning here clearly shows that the scorer will never be awarded an assist for the same goal he scored (you can't assist yourself)..

The psychology of more early playing players

I was deciding whether to stick with Bale (c) or twist today, as was everybody else. Most of the advice on here was if you are top of your ML stick, if you are behind then twist.

I was top, but after yesterday I was 10 points behind. This is because my rivals had loads of players playing, and I only had 2! I still however found myself looking for a differential captain to catch back up, when I didn't really need to do anything crazy.

I'm wondering if this psychology can be used against my ML opponents? Say for the quarters and semis, get all my players to be in the first game (or two for the quarters), with my bench players from the latter games. I can then rack up a good score/lead, and pressure them into going for a crazy captain choice to try and catch me back up, or making them twist on a 5/6 because they don't think it is enough.

Whether the assist gets awarded or not I'm glad I outscored Bale's points. Did okay today but nothing outstanding.

Work league is still super close - hope my wildcard eventually pays off but as it's going currently I won't need it for QFs.
