We continue our series of members’ articles, which review the numbers behind the 2015/16 season, with a look at Southampton.

To get underway, we assess the Saints’ team statistics in Ronald Koeman’s final year in charge and compare them to the rest of Premier League, before analysing their first-team squad, main goal threats and creative sources in an attempt to gain insight on their prospects for the upcoming campaign.

The Saints finished in sixth position after embarking on a superb run of form that harvested seven wins and a draw in the final nine league fixtures.

              Cummon Doos, You're a veteran. You know GK's Penalty save points can't be a milestone and look at their clean saves towards the end of the season - I think just one in last 10 matches and 2/3 in last 15-16 if I remember correctly

            Fat Rondalo, Van Nistelrooy, Bony, Kuyt. Some do it, some don't. I haven't seen Janssen in action other than on YT so i really can't comment.

            Also, Memphis may well have done better if his wasn't in and out of the side and being held back by a rigid style of play not particularly suited to him.

            Do we think Janssen will be a success and how will he fair for gametime with Kane?

              Personally, never seen him, or heard of him before this transfer. However, what I've read since suggests he could be a real success.

              That said, this season I can't see him not playing second fiddle to Kane. They haven't played two up front recently.

    Hi guys,

    Great to see FPL is (finally) back!

    I know there are plenty of fixture trackers out there, although I'm not exactly sure as to their level of detail. I've put one together taking into consideration the first 9 GWs and come up with a coefficient of sorts for each team. The only subjective element is how I've graded the difficulty of each fixture, which is shown in the sheet. It's not perfect (and apologies in advance for the rudimentary Excel skills), but I thought I'd share anyway.

      Don't like the Costa pick. Get Batsy instead if you want a Chelsea forward. Not sure on Mahrez either.

        Costa can easily become Batshy as I get a look at him in preseason. Why unsure of Mahrez? you reckon Hazard/Payet/Alli/KDB is a better pick that a fully rested Mahrez?

        Because when people watch him in tournaments, Champions League or Euros, he's not prolific. Playing in an incredibly strong PSG side where they batter everyone regardless he scores loads. Not even sure he'll play every minute, be no1 striker.

          Tournaments are a completely different story, every game is played like a cup final, and sweden are crap. He's gonna be playing west brom etc at home he will score plenty, just like he has done for every single team he's played for

            Just don't think he's essential like implied, or worth the amount. He's older and slower now, Mourinho plays mostly counter attack, or did. United don't have great wingers and crossers of the ball. Falcao completely flopped, i don't think Zlatan will, but say 14 goals for the season in the league isn't worth the cost. I don't think he'll get much more than that at best.

    Whoever designs web-sites clearly hates people. FPL's is one of the worst I've experienced. 15 minutes of picking a first draft - in which time every decision is met with an "are you sure?" question, I accidentally press reset. No confirmation needed there!!

    I tell you, these site designers truly loathe us all. We should stop all technology subsidies now until they learn how to design user-friendly sites

      one thing i've noticed is that on the whole it does run more smoothly, i remember the old version used to have delay on my computers when bringing up individual player info, not had that with the new site.

      Overall I don't really like the look of it much though, if anything looks cheaper than it did before
