The Gameweek rolls on with a showpiece fixture at the Emirates.

Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal host Liverpool in the tea-time encounter with a host of Fantasy talent on show.

On paper, this could be a tight and cagey affair but Arsenal’s injuries at the back may just prompt both sides to go on the offensive.

Certainly Jurgen Klopp has named an attacking line-up, spearheaded by Roberto Firmino and supported by new signing Sadio Mane and the guile of Philippe Coutinho and Adam Lallana.

That quartet with surely stretch the Gunners backline with Wenger forced to start with a pairing of Calum Chambers and new signing Rob Holding.

Wenger will look to Alexis Sanchez and Theo Walcott to provide a response at the other end, with Aaron Ramsey set to start in the number ten role in the absence of Mesut Ozil.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Weighed up all the options, keep, sell etc... Going to keep gray, negredo report doesn't sound too flash. Ramirez looks the one to get in. I was going to wait for 2 FTs next week but thinking Del-Ramirez. Only concern is I can't see Boro scoring many. I think I'm talking myself into holding off. Anyone else in the same Gray/6.5M swap dilemma?

Then of course there's Lorente and Carroll and the Mane/Cout thing but I'm going to keep Firminio

Why sell Deulofeu? If you wanted him last week, what has changed? Should have scored at weekend, played oop up front, and everton great fixtures.

I have the same issues. I want to keep him, but:
        a) Deloufeu was substituted after 68min.
        b) Still nailed on when Lukaku is back?

So let me get this straight there were 7 goals scored and neither Sanchec or Firmino were involved in any of them.

    How is that even possible?

For those that got to watch the games who were the standout performers? Is see ibra got a goal, courtino, lallana, mane all scored- who were the standouts?

Only watched Arsenal - Liverpool. Arsenal were better for the 1st half, but totally lacked focus and calmness at the start of the 2nd to an extent Liverpool got themselves an uncatchable lead with great 15 minutes of football, so to say many Liverpool players were overall outstanding and Arsenal were terrible is an exaggeration.

Coutinho was probably the best, but we know he scores a brace and then does nothing for 2 months, second for me was Cazorla, instant impact from him, he came in and immediately assisted two. Overall, Liverpool's front 3 were deadly and Chamberlain had a moment of brilliance similar to Mane's.

My worst GW1 ever I think, 37 points with Haz to go. Only correct decision so far was to select Aguero and (C) him. Last minute decision to take Tadic and Townsend over Lamela and Redmond not looking so great... 1.5m is my new personal worst rank.

For one he could hit the target. He had about as many chances as any midfielder las year but about the worst conversion rate. I am not convinced conversion rate will improve long term if it does he is gold.

      1. Camp No No
        • 12 Years

He certainly is not going to keep 66% conversion rate and 100% shot accuracy for the season.

Shots from much better positions than he usually takes though.

    Good evening!

Vardy owners - selling for Ibra before price changes? Feels a bit knee jerky, but otoh a net price diff change of 0.2 will make the swap effectively £0.5 more expensive with budget nearly maxed out. And Ibra got Hull in GW3 - but Vardy's got Swansea though

    2. SADIO SANÉ
      • 10 Years

I'm not completely convinced that they will change, but what do I know!?

      - Vardy has Arsenal at home next and he did nearly score yesterday, could prevent some selling.
      - Rooney (and also Martial) scored, so perhaps some will go to him as their (cheaper) Man Utd option instead.
      - Ibra is expensive and did 'only' get 9 points.
      - Aguero scored too, so there will be no Aguero -> Ibra

If it looks very likely that they will both change, I'd probably do it.

Definitely waiting to see how Costa does first - if he scores, his low ownership could rocket - he is priced quite kindly imo.

      Indeed.

I was a bit disappointed that there wasn't a doubles type team event as well.

      Would have been really interesting.

Rors and the rest can do one. Pack of personality-less gimps.

It was good to watch. Will be interesting to see if it holds it's place. scheduling between USPGA and Ryder Cup isn't ideal but it's hardly marathon running is it.

Negredo v Sundeland or Gray v Pool? Even with LFCs ropey defence, I doubt Bur have the quality to threaten

Gray might find it difficult v a more oganised liverpool defence

None of my rivals have ibra....

Presume it is safer for me to capt Kun this week and not ibra??

Theory is just having ibra is a decent enough differential and want to consolidate a decent start....

    Does that make sense??

Probably correct but I wouldn't worry too much about tactics this early on. Pick who you think will get more points.

Agreed. Although i don't think covering rivals is that valid a strategy at this point of the season, Kun just a better pick imo

Targeting a good OR and ignoring what your ML rivals is the best way to beat them.

Captain who you think will score higher.

I think most vardy owners were banking on a goal but many expected a brace as a minimum v hull. Him blanking is a massive shock and also his performance second half was a big worry.

That air shot, the blocked open goal and the balloon over the bar = rustiness.
I think I'll hold but if Costa does well a straight swap would be tempting

He had a good amount of chances, on another day it would have been brace / maybe even hattie

Strange how Vardy is being transferred out much more than Kane. They both blanked but at least Vardy had more shots/looked better + is 1 mil cheaper

I think Janssen is an interesting fpl-wise. The game changed when he came on for Spurs and I expect him to start v Palace.

      This will help Kane.

Ok, will monitor that. Do you expect regular starts for Janssen?

I don't think they've got him to warm the bench, but genuinely don't know.

I think there will be a bit of tinkering with formations, but I'd like to see Janssen up top with Kane behind as it will make him much less isolated.

Its not strange when you think that Vardy faced a relagation favourite, fifteen player squad, managerless Hull side and Kane was against one of the strongest Everton teams in recent years

"strongest Everton teams in recent years" basically the same squad that finished mid-table last year no?
