The clamour for Zlatan Ibrahimovic has gathered pace.

Manchester United’s summer signing has risen to second spot in our Watchlist forward rankings off the back of his 13-point return in last night’s 2-0 win over Southampton.

Having doubted Ibrahimovic’s early promise, there have been two notable changes to swing our opinion.

The Swede is now confirmed as United’s spot-kick taker having planted the ball past Fraser Forster for the second goal.

More importantly, Paul Pogba’s impact on United was almost immediate and seemed to transform the whole dynamic of the team.

Ibrahimovic was no longer dropping deep to lend his presence to midfield areas and enjoyed more time in and around the penalty area to feed off a supply from out wide.

The reconnaissance mission on Jose Mourinho’s side is over now that Pogba is in the machine – we’ve seen enough to decide that Ibrahimovic will see plenty of the ball in the right areas, picking up the goals and assists to warrant his price tag.

Indeed, his price is now driving the recruitment drive.

Ibrahimovic has already seen a hike overnight – a further increase prior to Gameweek 3 or soon after would seem likely if both Jamie Vardy and Harry Kane fail to produce today.

More significantly, the Swede will face Hull City away next weekend – if he delivers points again in that encounter his stock will be sky high heading into the international break.

We’ve seen in previous seasons how a strong bandwagon can accelerate during this window of 13 days without a deadline to stall price changes.

Conversely, both Vardy and Kane will likely suffer further drops in this period, unless they can stem the tide with points, either today or in their Gameweek 3 encounters.

Kane, in particular, will endure a significant decline in stock should he blank against Palace and show evidence that he’s dropping back into midfield areas.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Is benteke worth a reshuffle? All i hear of palace is lots of crosses but nobody in the middle to knock them in, benteke will change get a decent return surely?

In my opinion he is worth a reshuffle. Could be cautious and keep an eye on him, but with his fixtures and how good he can be, I am most likely getting him straight away.

So glad I started the season with Ibra. Must have been a fair few with him as captain though as I dropped down from about 1.8k to 9k, and that's with Shaw in my team!

Who is the best 7m and below midfielder? I currently have Redmond, just not sure who else could do a good job.
Not looking at Townsend too as I am planning to trade in Benteke next week as well as Ibra and the 7m mid, getting a -4 hit.

Think I'll hold on to Vardy (SWA) for GW3 and do some upgrades in GW4 & 5. Possible options are:

      Vardy >
      A - Defoe (EVE,tot)
      B - Benteke (mid,STK)
      C - Giroud (SOT,hul)

      Routledge >
      1 - Ozil (SOT,hul)
      2 - Cazorla (SOT,hul)
      3 - Payet (WAT,wbrom)

This minor be a relatively minor point, but Zlatan has retired from intl football. I remember that Kun got a few injuries or niggles during his intl breaks in the last few years. On the other hand we have a physically fit man who doesn't have the threat of jetlag or a rash tackle in an intl match. IMO it makes him more appealing

Not always will you pick the correct CPT. 1 goal here or there is not the end of the world... in general everyone on here is freaking out that they didn't captain him... What about the 50% that don't have him at all? You're already ahead of them... Then you are in the bracket of 25% approx who have Aguero CPT. 1 goal will give you 18pts... its not like he scored 4 and you got done.

The day I consider over 50% of the players in this game as rivals is the day I should probably quit.

Those that matter are at the top, and those at the top at present are most likely Zlatan captainers.

    Gea (Jaku)
    Evans Amat Valencia (love, wilson)
    Lamela Firmino Barkley Haz (fletcher)
    Rondon Ibra Kun

Got Ibra and managed to catch three price rises which was pretty nice and avoided Tadic and Fischer drops.

In the 2 years I was in the top 5k I had an average team value and every week I felt like I was at a significant disadvantage. It's a lot easier to get points from players priced £1m higher.

Shouldn't you be focusing on the fact that those were the 2 years you were in the top 5k? Rather than the "feeling of being at a disadvantage." High TV can even be a bad thing. You could get the feeling that you have to spend all your cash on a premium player when there is a mid priced player scoring even better.

            • 14 Years

TV is so overrated imo. Most of the time it is meaningless as it is tied up in players you wouldn't even sell. You can't profit without selling. With the new WC rules it's even worse. Back in the day we had the Jan WC to make whole sale changes and we could actually put to use the gained value with half a season for it to make a difference.

I think you don't notice how far an extra £1.5-£2m of TV actually goes. It's an incredible advantage over other players in the 2nd half of the season.

That 1.5m-2m number is meant to be actual value after you've sold not TV.

With the new WC rules I don't think you get that advantage for that long. Also, all it takes is one 6m player scoring like a 8m player for it to be meaningless.

There's meant to be a lad called Grujic playing for Liverpool.

Scored a few goals in preseason with late runs from midfield.

    Keep an eye on him.

Had both Valencia and Ibra and fell from 300k to 419k. Can't even imagine the fall for those without Ibra

Not bothered by Kun's upcoming hattrick and brace of assists?

Hahaha. It's a horrible feeling having to pray that Kun doens't do too much damage even though I have him in my team.

In a draft league and thinking of jumping on Benteke this morning before anyone else does.. best move here?

    A) Gray and Kone -> Benteke and 4.1 (Kingsley?)
    B) Alli and Gray -> Lamela / other mid up to 8m and Benteke

    Foster (4.0)
    Williams, Stones, Souare, Kone, Friend
    Alli, Hazard, Capoue, Martial, Redmond
    Aguero, Costa, Gray

    2FT

    a) Targett > Shaw + Tadic > Redmond

    b) Targett > Friend (Save FT)

Wait till later but if no significant change, target to friend and save to stay flexible with 2FT. You can't have any major worries if tadic out is one on the cards so hold for now and see what happens over the weekend

Lovely start to the weekend! Kun captain to come so can't complain about a red.

    Only real decision barring injuries:

    Start one:

    A) Gray (che)
    B) Ramirez (wba)

See how gray goes today that should decide it as Ramirez has better fixture
